I say "I'm on facebook" as well.

I wonder if some of these differences are regional. I've noticed that people from southern California tend to talk about freeways with a "the" before the number, as in "Take the 5 north for thirty miles," whereas those of us in northern California would say "Go north on 5 for thirty miles."

Hope this doesn't derail...I just think these differences are interesting.

Probably people who say "I have a facebook" are referring to having a facebook account. I've always said "Do you do facebook?" or "Are you on facebook?". I don't "do" twitter or blogs, etc.

Some days I say ''I'm on Facebook'', other days I say '' I have Facebook'' or ''I use Facebook''. Never thought much about it. I never call it THE Facebook though.

It's strange, but when it comes to Twitter, I'm rarely ever asked. However, whenever I'm asked, it is in such a way that my response of 'yes' covers it. "Are you on Twitter?" or "Do you have Twitter?" and I say, "Yes". But, as I said, I'm rarely ever asked.

Usually, I'm the one asking if someone is on Facebook. I think I say, "Do you have a Facebook account?" or "Are you on Facebook?" Yet, when someone asks me the same thing, I tend to say, "Yes, I have Facebook." or "Yes, I'm on Facebook." I don't know why I feel inclined to repeat the social media name when it comes to Facebook, but I do.

As for blogs, I'm never asked that, but yes, I do blog. I blog on wordpress.com. I am only asked about my blogs from people who have known me for years and simply ask, "Do you still write your blogs?" to which I reply, "Yes." But that doesn't lead to them reading them at all.

I am trying to figure out Skype, only because I want to use it for my online Bible Study when I launch, but for chatting purposes, I don't use my webcam or video feed or sound.

And now you know the rest of the story.

Conspiracy Theory/Paranoia alert: In regards to my webcam, I actually have a piece of something taped over my webcam so it can't be accessed without my knowledge. I usually didn't care much for this, but I saw something last year that freaked me out regarding this and so I joined the paranoia bandwagon here. I don't recall what I saw, but I know someone was able to get into someone's laptop and see their house and such through the webcam, even though the laptop was off originally. Of course, they can still hear things I say...hmmm.

I tried Twitter once, but I deleted my account pretty much the same day. I don't really care to follow celebrities, I can just read people's statuses on Facebook, and it was hard to read anyway with the symbols. I know what they mean, but:

I went to @jimbob's house to #fishfry and #bakecakes and then @suziehorseluver23 came over and #wesofly because we're #scubadivingFriday!

I just made that up...but it's like I have to pause at every symbol so it makes reading something like that incredibly annoying to me.

Just my opinion on it, though.

I must admit that, of late, I have become a #hashtag fanatic. I use it on my instagram posts, mainly. However, if I try to tag a person and their name doesn't come up, I just write their name and remove the '@' sign. Whenever I see "@soANDso" on Facebook, instead of soANDso with a clickable connection, I immediately think, "You're doing it wrong."

No the cruise ship is just fine, actually to me the color looked lilac. I've had the cruise ship painted lilac. Unfortunately I've been robbed by pirates several times. I guess it stands out a bit.

It's not as paranoid as it sounds. There are ways of doing this, but you usually have to screw up pretty badly to become affected by something like that. It's possible though.

Yeah, probably the best stealth cruise ship color would be a digital camouflage in blue. Not very pretty to look at on such a large object though.

Usually when referencing my use of social networks, or IM messengers, I'll say something like..

Yes I use "fill in the blank".

Sometimes I see people say things like....

I only use CC for socializing really. I'm off fb, and use twitter for news/ traffic updates and qwirkery things that I'm interested in.
