2014, a year of

This is a public declaration of faith for me. I've talked to countless men who deal with sexual sin on a day to day basis and it just drags them down into the mud and mire, and steals their joy in Christ. They tell me it's painful to live a life of celibacy until marriage, that if they don't get married, it's going to be the most horrible thing ever for them.


Now is where I put my cards on the table and say it is quite possible. I know because before I allowed the cares of the world to choke back the seeds that Christ has sewn in my heart, I was very happy for many years. I forgot that happiness and the thorns came back. Sexual sin can and does kill a man from the inside out.


The weeds have been trimmed, and now is where I make a very public declaration. Hopefully this can be of help to others who may have struggled with this issue, and those who struggle in the future. There was a one month challenge here in November. I'm upping the ante, and I'm doing so very publicly.


Flee from every single hint of sexual immorality. Every single hint. No pornography, no sex, no masturbation, no excuses. I don't know how many here would join me in such a declaration, but that's what I'm doing. And I'm doing so publicly here. It is very simple. If I fail, this counter stops. I've included this December in it too just to show how serious I'm being here.

Men, it's time to claim victory!

And there is no conspiracy here. These "single ladies" as you put them are strong women of God who want about as much to do with sexual sin as I do - which is to say nothing at all.


But I'll take the free bump as an opportunity to say December was kind of horrible, but January is going great, and any guys who are struggling should think about perhaps joining the little men's discussion area, which is kind of the entire reason I aired my dirty laundry out here for all to see in the first place.

No one has to suffer with sexual sin, least of all suffer it without support breaking the chains.

The irony of this is all... so thick you could cut it with a knife.

This kind of thing happens on the family forum all the time, except it's not someone bettering themselves, it's someone who hit rock bottom, I guess it's only okay to show support and give advice when someone has hit rock bottom.

So the names say it all: YouTube. MySpace. And, of course, the “i’s” - iPod, iTunes, iMac, iPhone and iPad.
“Selfie” fits right in.

Twenge writes that compared to today’s generation, “they were posers.” But across all generations, the French existentialist philosopher Jean-Paul Sartre said it best: “Man is the being whose project is to be God.”

Nice attempt to try to imply i have/had a porn addiction when neither is the case. Sure I watched it before I was saved, but then we all did lots of thing we aren't necessarily proud of. But its funny I havent touched it since. And as far as still being single well thats a choice. Im fairly picky and not going to settle.

WOW - THis started out as a thread from a guy just confessing sin and exposing his innermost thoughts, sharing a very noble goal with us and asking for our support. That took guts -- ServantStrike is a brave guy. One person, Miktre, inappropriately stood behind the pulpit and chose to zap him with condemnation derailing the conversation. As if Miktre hasn't struggled with sexual sin before. Thanks for showing your brotherly love, Miktre.
