yes i have seen this scripture, however its the only one i have seen stating that and honestly if its only for inside a church then i definately say women can because to me a church is just a building and the preacher is just a teacher as human as anyone else. perhaps the jews hold this but we as gentiles do not have to follow the Jews religious rules. why should it matter where the teaching is taught? and with that by whom?
There are others showing that thier two different roles in faith. The male role is the leader role. They lead and teach. The women role is to keep the leader in check in a sense. They also may teach other women, and children. Their main job is childbearing.

You said you have seen it, but you deny it. Also this wasn't the jews view, rather Pauls. Paul was a gentile. He get his teachings from Christ who got his from God. To deny this teaching is denying a teaching from God.

The reason I think this is specifically in the church setting is because the letter is talking about how to conduct yourself in a church setting. The church being the body of Christ not a building. Basically whenever learning about God, teaching Truth of the word, men are to teach. This is the teachings of Paul, and of God.

The strictly confined to the church is my personal opinion based off my interpretation of the context of the verse. The verse states clearly women should not teach men though. You seem to be denying it though.

dear brothers and sisters.

(1.) a church is a symbol/ a type/ a shadow... it represents a female... a spiritual woman and a natural woman.

(2.) the holy word of god/ the holy bible is a symbol/ a type/ a shadow... it represents a male... a spiritual man and a natural man.

(3.) so it is a symbol/ a type/ a shadow... and it represents a marriage... a marriage between a spiritual woman/ and a spiritual man and also a marriage between a natural woman/ and a natural man.

so therefore... a woman... cannot teach/ preach/ minister/ be a reverend/ a pastor/ an elder/ a deacon/ ordained/ behind the pulpit in any way... for it is an abomination unto god and is unholy.

god bless... god states this plain and simple by his own holy words alone.

many shall reject god's holy word but only a few shall accept and believe god's holy word... as is.

A woman preaching to a man is 'an abomination' and 'unholy.'

Philly, could you please point out that no such words are in the bible for dear Believingone. Thank you, bro :)

If you don't believe Paul, why do you quote him? Err, I mean misquote him?
For the life of me, I don't see why you don't toss your bible in the trash. Paul got his gospel from Christ, who got it from God. If you don't accept what Paul says, you must believe God to be a liar. IF you have a bible, it is taking up unnecessary room in your life. Throw it the trash can.

Huh?
Why say this, philly?

I get exasperated speaking to you, in love, when I continue to hear your lack of in your posts :(

Meh. The Lord leads.

I guess, you must be mad that I call you out (and anyone else) who wants to play God, and, decide that God NEVER uses a woman, NEVER calls a woman to be a a pastor of a church, who teaches over men, preaches over them, IS over them.

OK? So, like I said already, the 100s, if not 1000s of women pastors in the world, are ALL doing things against God's will, even their being 'called' to go to seminary for five years and then go and use that doctorate degree to lead a church, as God's intended for them to do.

--------
Why not?

And, yes, there IS an order to teaching and preaching and it's MEN, FIRST, WOMEN, SECOND , just like I put in one of my posts, speaking of Paul's speaking to 1 Tim. 2:12 with immediate conteXtual verses, 1 Tim. 2:13 , and, 2:14, and, even , 2:15.

I believe, Paul, and , his words in the bible are written by God's inspiration given Paul.

-----------
And, lastly, to tucksmama:You think, women cannot preach or teach to men because there are no examples in the bible of women preaching or teaching men? Flawed logic, wouldn't you say?

Again, bro, you are preaching and teaching 'absolutism,' and, false assumption. Why do it? You and philly are cut from the same cloth; that's OK, the Lord leads.

I just think you both need to realize that God works differently than our mere men and women minds can relate and understand. And, IF you want to be that way about nowhere in bible does it say that women preach or teach men (which we don't really know from reading the bible because a lot more went on than just the words you're reading. Like Priscilla, she taught in a church gathering with her husband, Aquila, AND...we don't know what real role she had in teaching Apollos. But, it sounds to me like she was teaching him things and not just Apollos but others attended Priscilla and Aquila's church gathering, too), then, be unbiased in your belief. Understand that the bible never mentions, specificallly, that God is speaking nor Jesus.

God NEVER says, specifically, that a woman should refrain from teaching or preaching to men. Paul says it, but, not God and not Jesus and not the Holy Spirit, no alluding to it in any way, shape, or, form by any of the Godhead in THE BIBLE .

Again, the proper ORDER, per 1 Tim. 2:13,14 is man, first, woman, SECOND, for preaching, but, there's NO absolutism, it's MAN, first, and, woman IS second. Get that through your thick skull, philly, tucksmama, I say that in love, by the way :)

oops my bad used some bad logic on that one. (I had a thought process in my head, but I'm realizing the though process wasn't right). You are right there, but the fact that he taught it was still Jesus's teachings.

A woman preaching to a man is 'an abomination' and 'unholy.'

It never says Aquila or Priscilla taught, just that they gathered at her house. (At least in what I have read).

Also I agree it is not an "abomination" but it is against Paul's teachings. I would say the greater part, if not all, of the 1000s of women are going against the teachings of Paul, Jesus, and God. The example thing I use just strengthens my point, it doesn't make it. If there was no mention of Paul saying what he said, and I used that logic then you would be right that it is false logic. That is a supporting point though, not a main point. My main point is simply quoting Paul.

Also we do not play God. If I were to play God I'd say women can be pastors because I know many women who could teach my church a thing or two! It doesn't matter what I say though, just what the bible says. The bible seems to be pretty clear. It doesn't have a "usually women do not teach men" clause.

Now if there are no men able to teach then obviously a women may, but if there is a man capable, then it is the man's role to step up to the plate.

The bible is pretty clear on this issue.

Also because these 1000s of women bear good fruit doesn't change the fact that it is wrong for them to teach. God takes bad situations and makes good things come from them all the time.

You seem to agree that a woman CAN be called by God to pastor, tucksmama, so, disregard the thick skull comment, that's for philly (and a few others) :) A woman CAN pastor a church, they are doing it. Instead of complaining that it's against God's words, just be supportive of the woman being a pastor. And, again, it's all about the order, Paul says this, not me, per 1 Tim. 2:13: Adam was created first and then Eve.

Then, it's 2:14, if you're following my logical train of thought that IS God's Word. :)

Again, Paul's rationale for man to be first in the order is that Eve was deceived. Adam was not deceived. Adam sinned willfully. Now, by this logic, it speaks of ORDER. Eve was DECEIVED. But, did Adam just do nothing? No, Adam sinned WILLFULLY, even, blamed his taking the fruit on Eve. How dumb was that? Adam blames Eve for giving him the fruit. Who ate it, dumb nuts! :D

Now, who do you want leading your church? Eve who was easily DECEIVED or Adam who just willfully disobeyed God's command?

Apparently, according to Paul, which is Scripture, it is the MAN's disobedience that is NOT as bad as the woman having been deceived.

I think they can be called, but not nearly as often as they are becoming pastors. Like literally if any man is capable of teaching, a man should be teaching not a woman, solely in a leadership type role. 1 on 1 is different.

I'd say if any of the women called to preach are truly called by God, it is probably less than 10 of them. That's a guess obviously, but that's how few churches I'd say have no men able to teach.

Sure, express love as you do? Derisively perverting my name like a juvenile on the playground?
Twist Paul's words, twist God's words. Even had to twist my words.
I never said God "never used a woman". But you claimed I did. What does that say about you? Hmm, I dunno know, what DO you call someone that tells lies?
God NEVER called a woman to be a preacher. Show me one scripture in the bible where He did. You can't. Why? Because He didn't. You are saying God did something He didn't. Again, what is that word we use for someone that isn't truthful?
God chose Paul before he was born, to do His work. And you reject Paul. What does the bible call someone that rejects God?

You are attempting to undermine the gospel. You will get resistance for that. Count on it.

Amen Phil. I'm curious do you agree on my interpretation on when it is acceptable for women to teach?

Nah, philly, I nic everyone, my nic to you is nothing more than a simple variation and 'social' way of stamping myself in posts. Tuckmama's got one and so does EVERYONE else on c.c.. Just because you don't agree with me (and God) that you can't play God, I think, you're just sore. So be it. The Lord leads, bro :)

You are undermining God Himself, philly, when you say that ALL women who are pastors now are going against the will of God. Again, how many times do I have to say it ! You are NOT to play God :)

Show me in Scripture where it says that God says women can never be a pastor. Paul 'suffers' not a woman to preach or teach over a man, but to be silent. But, where is the word "NEVER" that Paul uses in that 1 Tim. 2:12 verse, Philly ? It's NOT there, is it :)

Amen Phil. I'm curious do you agree on my interpretation on when it is acceptable for women to teach?
I agree, too, it's NOT the proper order for women to FIRST be considered for a job as a pastor of a church nor teacher OF MEN. But, if no man is available, there is an ORDER. Again, how many times do I have to say this too? Read 1 Tim. 2:11,12 THEN read 13, and 14 , which the latter two verses speak of order, man, first, women, second.

Well it doesn't say never, but I would say that it does support women never preaching over men if a man capable of teaching is there. It says not to do it, which is the equivalent of saying to never do it. The order is in submission. women to men, men to God. Like I said of the 1000s of women preachers I would say maybe 10 are following Pauls teachings. I don't know a real number, I'm guessing simply because I don't see more than 10 churches not having a capable male teacher.

It's nice of you to think that you know that '10' or fewer women are truly called by God to pastor, but, again, that's flawed logic. We do not know God's thoughts nor ways of doing things (Isaiah 55) and you can either choose to believe that the 100 or 1000 women pastors in the WORLD today are against God's call for their lives or not. I choose to believe I CAN'T see inside that woman's heart, who's been called to be a pastor by God, and, remember, that His Holy Spirit is inside our heart.

NOw, you can say that the woman is in direct disobedience of Scripture, but, again, as I pointed out earlier, tucksmama, the ONLY person who can see inside a person's heart--the good and the bad, even the ugly, thoughts and feelings-- IS God :)

This is God's divine order. Those women, all 10 or 100 or even 1000 or however many God calls, ARE following His will per some reason God knows and not us of why they are usurping a man for a position of authority like pastor or teacher in a church that is for men made, fIRST, and, women , second .

I am telling you it is disrespectful and childish. Since you are aware of this, and yet you insist on doing it, you are not being "social". Quite the contrary, you are being anti-social. And you know this when you do it, so, once again, you lie.

suffer ....2010 NT - Greek to turn over (transfer), i.e. allow:--give leave (liberty, license), let, permit, suffer.
Paul did not "permit or allow" a woman to usurp authority over a man. As a hand picked man of God, by God, before he was born, and taught God's word by the Son of God, that authority lay with Paul. He gave God's commandment on the matter, and it was never rescinded.

But, where is the word "NEVER" that Paul uses in that 1 Tim. 2:12 verse, Philly ? It's NOT there, is it
2 Timothy chapter 3 and verses 2 thru 8, along with Titus chapter 1 and verses 10 thru 16 are addressed directly to you.
Throw your bible away. You refuse God's word. You call Him a liar. You sir, are a reprobate.

Bible was translated by King james bigotes

where it says WOMAN the origanal word is WIFE

Paul was telling the women not to take over their husbands in Public and not to wear gold ornaments or fancy braiding of hair.

The churches who think women cannot be pastors, do they allow people with necklaces and earrings?

Actually the word there could be either woman or wife...its not specific to which. There are plenty of places the original word there is used in a spot where by no means it could be wife.

The original question was "can a women be called by God into ministry to teach and preach men?"

Then in sibsequent posts the word or title pastor has appeared.

Personally, I think there needs to be some clarification here.

I DO agree that a woman is NOT to usurp authority over a man. The man is the head of the woman. I concur 100% with that. I do believe God has a "chain of command" if you will regarding men and women. When followed it works. When it isn't followed...

Likewise I believe the man has certain protocal he needs to follow...it's not all I'm man, obey me and yada yada yada and folks, that's for another thread, another topic (and what little time I've spent reading the different posts on the various forums, it's been discussed/debated).

I DO agree that a woman should not be in the position as a pastor. Sorry, that's my feelings, my heartbeat on that. I would have a very hard time sitting under a woman pastor. I know there are, but this gal...I feel the man should be the pastor.

Not to appear doubleminded or to come across as confused on this issue but I still believe God can call a woman to teach and preach. As I stated in my first post on this thread, I've sat under such. My own pastor, a man, invited the woman who taught at our women's conference to the pulpit for a Sunday morning service. My pastor is an anointed, blood washed, spirit filled, called to the ministry, man of God. He doesn't allow just anybody to step behind the pulpit. God has to tell him to do so meaning who can preach/teach.

I'm not a women's rights activist. Odd in today's world and mindset, but I have been with many women that God has used to teach and preach His word. Missionaries, evangelists, single women, married women, women who ministered through song, that taught, even worked along their husbands in the ministry. I've seen too much to say that God doesn't call and use a woman.

But I will agree there is a divine order, man is the head.

And folks, I do believe that's all I want to say on this one. :) :)

I was saying 10 as a rough estimate. I don't know the real number obviously. I'm going off of the idea that I don't know any churches with no men able to teach, and have never heard of one like that (probably because of how small the church would have to be). I do think that a high majority of women pastors are directly going against the word of God.

Even the bottom office in the church (deacons) should be the husbands of one wife, ruling their children well.. Show me a WOMAN that is the HUSBAND of one wife RULING THEIR CHILDREN WELL.

First we should then determine how can two women in marriage haveTHEIR OWN CHILDREN... How can a woman be the HUSBAND of another woman and have children with that woman?

Oh and show me ONE pastor in the Bible that is a WOMAN?
There is NONE.... when Paul refered to Priscilla and Aquila, he NEVER said Priscilla was part of the TEACHING in WORDS... Like all, ALL, the other Godly women she WITNESSED her Godliness with GOOD BEHAVIOUR... GOOD WORKS And GOOD FELLOW WORKSHIP....

A woman has LOTS of things to do in the church and GODLY DUTIES... Pastor/ deacon / Elder / Evangelist / Teacher and Apostle is not one ef them. Can the husband bear children? NOPE! Can the woman be pastor or priest, even of her house and children.... NOPE!!!!! So God does have a gender plan.... I can CLEARLY see it in the Bible... Let us see if you understand this one...

1 Tim 2:15... Notwithstanding she shall be saved in childbearing, if they continue in faith and charity and holiness with sobriety.

How can a man be saved in childbearing? Where is a man saved if the WOMAN is saved in chidbearing. What does it mean to continue in faith with SOBRIETY... And did God not say the woman is the GLORY OF THE MAN, as the MAN IS THE GLORY OF JESUS? Can Jesus be my glory? Or will I be HIS? Can NEVER be the other way around, same as woman and man. Can NEVER be the other way around.

We should know our place in the ORDER of God. God will not transgress the order, and we should not either.... This subject has been discussed so regulary, even if we KNOW that it is GOD'S command that says WOMEN SHOULD BE QUIET IN CHURCH. FOR IT IS A SHAME FOR THEM TO SPEAK....

Godly woman do NOT start preaching, STAY SUBMITTED TO YOUR HUSBANDS, let them teach and preach, and if they do not, you STILL KEEP SILENT... God did not say women if your husbands does not want to talk then yuo may... He says it is a shame for women to speak in church... SHAME TO HUSBAND, WIFE and GOD! It is a SHAME...

Husbands pull your fingers out of your ears and MAN UP to God and His WORD... or be damned to hell! It is the Truth (God's Word) that makes us free from ALL evil, even hell.... We damn ourselves to HELL if we do not KNOW THE TRUTH... God said.. We shall know the Truth and the Truth shall make us free...

Husbands, how well do you knoe the Truth? The Word of God is the Truth... John 17:17.... Come on MEN, man up and KNOW THE TRUTH.
