Congratulations Rachel, you have taken about everyone's posts who do not agree with you and twisted it to fit your own views of how things should be. You even went as far as misinterpreting scriptures to prove your point. Furthermore, you talked about others judging when your self righteous attitude has been doing quite a bit of that yourself.
I am also very happy for you that you live in a country where Islamic law stands. I know you all call that "liberty" but let look at what liberties people in your country have.
"Qatar has and does not permit individuals with HIV/AIDS to liverestrictions for HIV/AIDS visitors, in the country. Medical exams are a must for all long-term visitors and residents. This information can be verified at Welcome to Embassy of the State of Qatar | Embassy of the State of Qatar before travel."
So I guess you support the prejudice of people who have illnesses? That is so righteous of you.
"Homosexuality is illegal considered a criminal offense in Qatar, and those convicted may be subjected to lashings, imprisonment and/or deportation. Also, intimacy in public between men and women, including teenagers, can lead to arrest."
I don't agree with homosexuality, but lashing people doesn't scream LIBERTY now does it? It certainly doesn't sound too Christian either.
"Qatar is a destination country for men and women from South and Southeast Asia who migrate willingly, but are subsequently forced into involuntary servitude as domestic workers and laborers, and, to a lesser extent, commercial sexual exploitation. The most common offense was forcing workers to accept worse contract terms than those under which they were recruited. Other conditions include bonded labor, withholding of pay, restrictions on movement, arbitrary detention, and physical, mental, and sexual abuse. Qatar is in Tier 3 rank; it failed to enforce criminal laws against traffickers, or to provide an effective mechanism to identify and protect victims. The nation detain and deport victims rather than providing them protection. The Government of Qatar made little progress to increase prosecutions for trafficking effectively in 2007"
So you are proud of a country that supports slavery...
Let's not leave out the school shootings you tried to bring in this thread. I don't know why you did this other than you were losing so you had to divert attention to something else because we all know you live in a country where the "consitution also emphasizes equality and the right and freedom of a diverse people." Maybe you need to google the term "freedom"
Finally, I can completely understand why you'd be against a woman protecting herself from a rapist. Apparently your country supports human trafficking and the exploitation of women so why fight it? That's why crime is so low in Qatar, What most countries consider crimes you all permit, unless it has to do with civil rights and rights of certain persons are a crime.
