Congratulations Rachel, you have taken about everyone's posts who do not agree with you and twisted it to fit your own views of how things should be. You even went as far as misinterpreting scriptures to prove your point. Furthermore, you talked about others judging when your self righteous attitude has been doing quite a bit of that yourself.

I am also very happy for you that you live in a country where Islamic law stands. I know you all call that "liberty" but let look at what liberties people in your country have.

"Qatar has and does not permit individuals with HIV/AIDS to liverestrictions for HIV/AIDS visitors, in the country. Medical exams are a must for all long-term visitors and residents. This information can be verified at Welcome to Embassy of the State of Qatar | Embassy of the State of Qatar before travel."
So I guess you support the prejudice of people who have illnesses? That is so righteous of you.

"Homosexuality is illegal considered a criminal offense in Qatar, and those convicted may be subjected to lashings, imprisonment and/or deportation. Also, intimacy in public between men and women, including teenagers, can lead to arrest."
I don't agree with homosexuality, but lashing people doesn't scream LIBERTY now does it? It certainly doesn't sound too Christian either.

"Qatar is a destination country for men and women from South and Southeast Asia who migrate willingly, but are subsequently forced into involuntary servitude as domestic workers and laborers, and, to a lesser extent, commercial sexual exploitation. The most common offense was forcing workers to accept worse contract terms than those under which they were recruited. Other conditions include bonded labor, withholding of pay, restrictions on movement, arbitrary detention, and physical, mental, and sexual abuse. Qatar is in Tier 3 rank; it failed to enforce criminal laws against traffickers, or to provide an effective mechanism to identify and protect victims. The nation detain and deport victims rather than providing them protection. The Government of Qatar made little progress to increase prosecutions for trafficking effectively in 2007"
So you are proud of a country that supports slavery...

Let's not leave out the school shootings you tried to bring in this thread. I don't know why you did this other than you were losing so you had to divert attention to something else because we all know you live in a country where the "
consitution also emphasizes equality and the right and freedom of a diverse people." Maybe you need to google the term "freedom"
Finally, I can completely understand why you'd be against a woman protecting herself from a rapist. Apparently your country supports human trafficking and the exploitation of women so why fight it? That's why crime is so low in Qatar, What most countries consider crimes you all permit, unless it has to do with civil rights and rights of certain persons are a crime.

Well clearly you didn't read my post.

I don't recall lashing anyone but simply quoting scripture. If that's an issue maybe you can draw out why that scripture is offensive to you.

This is what I said about my position on self defence. I do not condemn anyone who does it. There may be many other means to self defence other than a gun, but that's a wide topic.

.

Each of us has their own level of faith. If having faith in a gun makes you sleep better at night, then by all means you have every right to sleep with one.

As for me, I trust in the Lord and his protection.
And even if tomorrow I were to die, I want to imitate Christ who didn't reply to mockery, abuse and torture, and when he was on the cross, said Father forgive them for they know not what they do. Father into your hands, I commit my spirit!

Also very clear is how you didn't read my post about my position about INDIA. I am a citizen of India by birth but stationed at Qatar at the moment for personal reasons and by a benefactor.

I am very happy for you too.

I don't think you will ever come to Qatar. Qatar will miss your gracious presence deeply.

These are stats for people who'd like to know about Qatar, from Wikipedia

"
Qatar has the world's third largest natural gas reserves which has fueled Qatar to become world's richest country per capita and achieve the highest human development in the Arab World and 36th highest globally; furthermore, it is recognized as a high income economy by the World Bank and also the 19th most peaceful country in the world.[SUP][10][/SUP][SUP][11][/SUP] Qatar is currently undergoing transformation under the National Vision 2030, in which it expects to achieve advanced, sustainable and diversified economy.[SUP][12][/SUP] In order to promote tourism, Qatar has invested billions into improving infrastructure, it held the 2006 Asian Games and will be the host of the 2022 FIFA World Cup, becoming the first Arab country to host either of the events.[SUP][13][/SUP]
More recently, Qatar has been seen as a more influential player in Arab world. Qatar supported several rebel groups during the Arab Spring both financially and by asserting global influence through its expanding news group, Al Jazeera.[SUP][14][/SUP][SUP][15][/SUP][SUP][16][/SUP] It maintains close relationship with western and eastern powers, and has often tried to bridge the gap between Muslim and non-Muslim states. Qatar has a population of around 1.8 million people, however only 250,000 of these are citizens; the majority of the population are foreigners who work and live in the state.[SUP][17][/SUP] It is also one of the few countries in which citizens do not have to pay any taxes. How does this sound? Not a lot of liberty for homosexuals right?

Leviticus 18:22
[SUP]22 [/SUP]“‘Do not have sexual relations with a man as one does with a woman; that is detestable.

Jude 1:7
Just as Sodom and Gomorrah and the surrounding cities, which likewise indulged in sexual immorality and pursued unnatural desire, serve as an example by undergoing a punishment of eternal fire.

You got that right Elizabeth. She tossed her integrity in this discussion away imo.

Now check this out: http://www.nytimes.com/2014/01/24/w...n-order-of-village-council-in-india.html?_r=0

This is how their minds work. The village elders in the case of that link above in India felt so strongly about preventing the minds of the youth from being polluted that they ordered the gang rape of a young woman for dating a boy outside of their tribe.

Seriously, that's how twisted their thinking can get.

John 12:25

You are totally butchering the text. :( Why do you do that to God's word?

It is said venezuela is as rich as those countries which have oil petrol, but each day I see too many people in Caracas (Css) trying to get 10 kg of gas in their containers (cillinders). My mother often asks me to buy 1 or 2 of these and, in my hometown, there are long lines as if they were to buy food (another thing the Venezuelan comunism has failed to produce, to insure its inhabitants). Today, for example, I went to buy bread to 3 bakeries and, that that is daily baked, is missing. Instead, they try to sell that one which is old and too sweet.

Being "rich", as it is believed to be, many ingredients for our daily food is imported and the comunism is in control of airports and seaports. Many things get spoilet because the hired people the Gov has, always wants to be braved by addiotional money, above those one pays as taxes.

If I be given the chance, I will move to the country GOD shows me to go, not an arabian one.

especially from a citizen of a country that in the past has supported many despots and tyrannical regimes, I will ask you , ok? :)
You know, I wish some people wouldn't use the countries that God has placed us in for ministering to others as a means of bludgeoning opponents to death in discussion. :( I thought you were better than that.

To speak the Word of God is butchering it? Maybe you are right Brother JimmyDiggs. The Word of God is butchering.

Hebrews 4:12
For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.

No, you used it wrongly. There are much better and more accurate verses for pacifism, but what you did was misuse a verse for an agenda. I don't own a gun, don't know if I ever would (except maybe if I began hunting for food). I'm rather pacifist, but I believe quite strongly we should honor God by not misusing his words to add a meaning not present.

I'm a Calvinist. I fully believe that verse. ;)

I don't use the fact that you're Indian to take the problems of India and beat you over the head with it. I wish people wouldn't do that in response to what you did either. Turn the other cheek. My citizenship is in heaven. I'm not a patriotic person.

Hmmm? Really? Post the verse and what agenda it points to. Place my intentions out so I also know what you're talking about.

Brother JimmyDiggs. God bless you but maybe you need to read my posts carefully. Whatever opinions you form, if you can base it on scripture, I'd be happy to hear. I am open to correction.

Otherwise, have a good day.

Also, I didn't know that I had to check in with an ''accuracy'' of a verse to support an agenda I didn't claim. The message of the cross is the only thing I have spoken of.
Next time I'll ask you JimmyDiggs for ''better'' verses.

Oh and you don't own a gun? Well. Only women should own guns.

God bless you :)

You can have your guns and your freedom and your liberty of homosexuals. Peace.
Perfect example of you twisting words.
1. Where did I say I supported homosexuality?
2. These passages are referring to God's judgement, not a human government lashing them.
3. Ever though about looking over in the NT every so often to see how to handle sinners? You claim to be against violence, but have no problem with it when it comes to gays.
4. I stated i LIKE my gun. A gun I have never used. A gun I hope to never use. I also like warm clothes in the winter, long relaxing baths, and peanut butter. Oh how wordly I am!!!

I have seen many people like you on this forum, and every one of you have a talent where you do nothing more than twist words for your own hateful agenda. You justify your own hatred while condemning others.
No one said that "only women should own guns". That is yet again another example of you twisting words.

One more thing, since you expressed this thread is about India(which it is) then why did you divert the thread talking about the United States? I never would have brought up Qatar and their corruption and prejudice had you not thrown the US in the equation. Which I am sure we can both agree that no man made government is perfect.

Perfect example of you not clearly reading.

I asked you how it sounded. Did you hear Liberty bells? :)

Did I talk about handling gays? And did you read your posts by your fellow countrymen who tried to educate other people about the history of your country?

I suppose you'd like to feel better about your amazing reading skills by putting yourself above the Qatari people?

You are clearly very educated that you can look down upon a country and their laws. After all you are above everyone else (You have such a liberty) and have a right to jeer at your fellow human beings.

Forgive me Madam, for having infringed upon that right. My agenda was never that.
