I appear to have made it out of bed. I can't breathe at the moment, and my eyes are protesting being open, and I desperately need hot coffee...
But I got up.
So that's my major achievement for the day...it's all down hill from here.

My friend from out of town is visiting this week. Last night we watched a movie. At the very end, I cried. I tried not to, but I couldn't stop it. She laughed at me a little. I don't hold it against her, I think it's kinda funny too, but I hate that I cry. It wasn't just one or two tears, either. It was a pretty good cry, ha. Bleh.

I need to find a friend who is a fellow movie-cryer.

Needs coffee in the worst way here, but must wait at least an hour until I can get to the store & get some hazelnut whitener.
Robbed Peter to pay Paul now. Had to call into work ...lose $80 to gain $600 from a guy who is coming over to pick up my washer & dryer. Of course he times all this so that it completely screws up me getting to work today. Why not just go in late, you may be wondering? Well,I commute to work a bit over an hour away with someone else, and I'm not going to throw off his work day because my life is a hot mess. I'm pretty stressed out anyways, and in a sense it might be good for me to just take the day packing up stuff & throwing things away to plan for my inevitable eviction this coming week.
I'll ask the peeps across the hall if they need any stuff. Gahhhhh...so yeah...ummm,I dunno anymore. In all of this mess, yeah God is still good. I know it sounds stupid to say that considering everything around me is pretty much a mess, but I still know at some point thing's will turn around. If nothing else,I am learning a great deal about perseverance in all this. So I suppose that's something, right?

@ just_monicat ...as I am sitting here typing this it just now hit me to Google this instead of asking you. lol But yeah...I will anyways, but since I am rambling, might as well see this through.

What is a hip flexor injury? Sounds ridiculously painful. All I can imagine is someone stretching too far & a muscle being torn...do we have hip muscles? *
i think coconut sounds good anytime!

yeah, hip flexor injuries aren't a fun time.

to identify/isolate the hip flexor: if (while seated) you lift your leg towards the ceiling, while leading with the knee, the muscle group that lifts up your leg/thigh is the hip flexor. they're constantly used in walking, climbing stairs, kicking something...

so i'm back to full rest right now (which, ironically, is likely why i found this place!), and i all i can really do is upper-body stuff, like swim with my injured leg quiet (good times) and i can barely ride. i actually have step ladder behind the barn door so that i can climb up without lifting my leg, and i had to buy this old side-saddle (well, that part's kind of cool). but i can't post or train with max (my horse) right now.

i have no idea how other people get injured, but for me it was an overuse situation. for years one of my staple workouts has been to go to the stadium and sprint the bleachers. at the time, i was also working with this new trainer doing this kickboxing and sparring work. and so between that and climbing up and down off a horse a dozen or so times a week, that supposedly was what caused a fatigue-based injury. i've only had one injury, but i've re-injured it twice, likely because i didn't wait long enough.

moral of the story kids? don't exercise! : )

are you having a better day today?

LOL @ the moral of yer' story. Too funny. So,yeah...that hip thing doesn't sound like a good time at all. I got into a pretty bad car accident when I was in my mid-twenties & have never been all together right ever since...I think my lower back is prolly pretty jacked up,but I refuse to go have it looked at properly. Ain't nobody got time for all that! lol

Well I hope you heal up better this time & don't rush it!!!!! You'll be kickin' people's buns & riding again in no time,I'm sure. Just think...with all the upper body strength you'll be getting now they might ask you to star in the next Avengers movie or something.

mmmm...thanks for reminding me. I need to get some coconut today when I go out.

Were you asking me in particular if I was having a better day...or everyone in CC? lol

If "me",then...maybe not so much as "better" as it is...different. I dunno. It is what it is. I'm trying not to focus on the negatives. Coffee always makes things seem more pleasant. ( for me at least )

i'm so sorry you're having to go through this, but i'm glad you worked things out with the W & D. didn't last week's couple flake? or is it the same couple?

hey, perseverance births patience! that's never a bad thing to gain (though the acquisition isn't so fun)!

one thing i try to remember is that my memories of God's faithfulness during the really scary episodes help me to strengthen my faith and trust Him even more through the uncertain future. you WILL get through this, and you will be stronger for it. : )

i will be praying for you.

just wait until you and your friends get older. it only goes downhill from there. soon you'll be carrying around an industrial sized box of kleenex and wearing waterproof mascara. i come from a family of non-criers ( i don't count the alcoholics) and so i know what it feels like to feel like the emotionally laden freakjob.

one of my favorite movies on hallmark channel is "the magic of ordinary days" and wouldn't you know, i've watched it 089098089 times, and EVERY time i still cry. it's ridiculous.

i shouldn't be allowed out of the house.

that's horrible, and mildly ironic. i'm so sorry.

yeah, i have a lot of stuff in my head that i don't allow myself to even revisit much anymore because of what you're describing. i started babysitting my brother, half sister and step brother when i was 10 and we were left to do and see what we felt like. it's not good, is it? i bet that has definitely impacted you as a parent, right? you seem like a great mom.

when i recommitted my life, i decided to pretty much give up most programming that isn't fairly tame. i used to watch the movies on the hallmark channel from time to time, but now that i have a "spirit clips" membership (which i highly recommend for families, by the way) i may just get rid of my cable completely.

Most of the time, I can't stand Hallmark. :p Hallmark IS SO STINKIN' PREDICTABLE. Boy meets girl. Girl and boy like each other. They go through some fun times, then boom! Issues. They get mad at each other, and stop contact for a while. THEN, at the end, they apologize and kiss! And the rest is history..... :D

The one movie I did enjoy watching on Hallmark, though, is Christmas with Holly. Hilarious movie, but also very sweet. And the couple wasn't the complete focus of it.

I can't do regular ice cream, but I do eat coconut milk ice cream (made with coconut milk and not cow's).

My favorite is Mocha's Almond Fudge. Man...if I was allowed to, I'd eat the whole thing in one sitting. Alas, my metabolism is not the kind that lets me do that without paying the consequences.

Quit stealing the dog's ice cream Lil................

I guess I have lost any sort of common sense. Guy comes buy to pick up washer & dryer. His gf hands me a compant check in an envelope. I place said envelope out of the way whilst we are disengaging the W & D. All is well they leave. Yay!
I open up the envelope to endorse the check for deposit Monday, but then I noticed...check is made out to someone else named JOE. Really?? I mean srsly...REALLY???
Of course now I can't get a hold of them for at least 2 hrs because they in a truck with a cell phone & it's all broken up.
This is exactly how thing's have been going...there's always a screw up. So I will go to my credit union Monday morning before work & hope that they will deposit a check made out to someone else, even though the last name is mine. I dunno why,but I just have a really bad feeling about this. As is Monday isn't already going to be horrible enough with the building manager giving me my official eviction notice.
*sigh* My own fault...I should have looked at the check when she handed it to me. I am pretty much the biggest idiot ever.

umm, hello!?! i'm like an old lady who lives at home alone with her dog and is afraid of the dark. seriously why wouldn't i appreciate some saccharine, formulaic and highly predictable, pollyanna-meets-boy-and-lives-happily-ever-after-under-a-rainbow-kind-of-story?

but seriously, yeah, i totally get what you're saying. but hallmark and the hallmark movie channel do have some decent movies from time to time, (like the magic of ordinary days!!!) and i'm also not one to sit and watch tv and not do something. i am more like "a tv watcher while i do things" in which a lack of complexity in the story becomes an advantage.

Oh, that stinks, iTore. I work at a bank, and it depends on bank policy, but also for auditing reasons, our bank doesn't typically deposit checks into an account if their name isn't on that account. Now, if your bank knows you, they may accept it if you let them know you sold something and they got your name wrong. Hopefully the check is good...do you have contact information from them if the check doesn't clear? Does the check have an address/phone number underneath their name in the upper lefthand corner? See who the check is drawn off of (what bank it is through). If there's that bank in your town, you can go to that town, they can look up the account number and they can typically tell you if it will clear or not. Some banks charge you if you deposit a check and it gets returned, so that'd be one way of making sure and avoiding that fee.

Sorry to ramble on, just some ideas that could maybe help you out. :(

Edited to add: Try not to feel like an idiot. I know it's hard not to when you've possibly made a mistake. This coming from someone who was scammed out of $600 my freshman year of college. It was terrible. I beat myself up for a while. Some for good reason, some for not. People who con you are typically good at what they do.

Mother, may I play with danger?...isn't that a Hallmark film..or is that Lifetime? lolz

So...I'm gonna head to the store here in about a half an hour. Anybody else need anything while I'm out?

Tequila,Rum,Vodka? hahahaha

ok...so...I'm kinda losing my mind here. Maybe I need to try a different Ben & Jerry's flavor today.
I don't have cable or a TV anymore...maybe I can find a really good love story & cry my eyes out over the interwebs. lol
NO.

Ummm....that's all I have for now.

Thanks Rachel!:)
Yeah all of his info is on the check, plus I have his number...he's def. a legit business owner. I am hoping beyond hope that if my credit union sees that I simply wrote in my first name & I explain it,it won't be a prob...maybe they hold the check a bit longer to clear? I dunno...they can always call him while I'm there to verify it I suppose. I'll try calling him later when I know he's home & let him know that he may get a call or have to mail me a new check. It's just like "Why can't anything go smoothly just once?" ( ok I'm being a bit of a drama queen now,but srsly..sometimes it feels that way )
