I see a lot of women in the business/corporate world - and church sometimes - who'll wear a real nice, conservative suit (talking about the skirted kind, not pants suits!) and often they feel compelled to wear their hair "up" or cut short. Occasionally I'll see a woman suited as described wearing her hair down and it looks so nice. Additionally, any weddings I've been to in recent years, the bride, in almost every instance, has worn her hair in an "up-do." Can't remember the last time I've seen a bride with her hair down and a veil and blusher over it. That, to me, would be lovely. I won't even bother getting into these wedding "gowns" that have bare arms and bare shoulders and bare necks and throats and like no lace, ruffles, and all that. Totally non-romantic.

I'm guessing then... that the polka-dot bow tie in your avatar is your idea of romantic dressing.

So many guys want women to wear their hair long and loose, but be sure to try it first before prescribing it. I rarely wear my hair down because 1. it's extremely warm 2. it gets in my face (chewing on hair during lunch is not attractive) and 3. as others have pointed out, it gets caught on things and/or pulled.
Ironically, for me, my hair is even more work when it's short. I wish the Sinead O'Connor look was more widely accepted... It would make life so much easier!

That's what is so awesome about my short, layered cut: it's perfect for my fine hair. I just have to wash it, towel-dry it, and run my fingers through it. I can shower, dress, put on make up, and be out the door in 10 minutes (unless the dog can't decide which part of the yard to use first).

If you can look past the fact that the picture on the left portrays me as a self-loving try hard (I was 18 years old, cut me some slack) you can see I had very long hair. It was about the same length when at 20 years of age, my mother told me she didn't love me and kicked me out of home. So a couple of weeks later, I cut my hair very short. The right is a picture taken about a month after the cut so it grew half an inch or so by then.
Yes. I did cut my hair because I was mentally unstable. Not long after cutting my hair I attempted suicide for the second time. Yes, I actually did at one stage have a maroon mullet. Yes, I did put white streaks in my hair and have had raven blue hair and everything in between. Each time I was very angry and needed to do something 'out there'. So I can kind of understand why someone would argue such a point, but its probably only for a very slim minority.
But now... obviously I am not in the same position and sometimes I do miss having short hair. It felt free and fun having short hair and it pushed me to be creative with the limited length I had. Maybe, maybe one day I'll have short hair again and it definitely won't be because I am 'mentally unstable'. That's my 2c worth. Please try not to laugh too much at the old photo of my 18 year old self. I'm still trying to suppress the giggles myself.
