I didn't go to prom. I was probably playing Skyrim.

I looked up the top 100 tracks for the year I graduated.

Ugh, so much rap.

My date would have requested this one if they hadn't have played it anyway, so I know this at my prom.

I honestly don't remember the music played at my Year 12 Formal but it happened towards the end of 2001 and there was music from the 1970s to then, but mostly from the late 90s/early 2000s.

Ah, this thread must have popped up during my hiatus.

This one played at my prom. I was not dancing with my date on this one (my date and I were not romantic, so we were all about making sure we got to dance with all of our friends), but rather, a pretty new girl at my church who I had asked, but she turned me down. But she asked ME to dance with her for this song, and I decided to embarrass her a little by actually dropping to one knee every time they sang the line.

Funny story about my prom (there are a few, actually) relating to songs of the era...the DJ played Smells Like Teen Spirit, despite it being a few years old at that point. A bunch of us guys...maybe 20 of us?...turned the center of the dancefloor into a full-on mosh pit. No outright punching or kicking, but lots of jumping, shoving, pinballing, and the like. When the song ended, we cleared the floor, and several girls screamed as if they'd seen a murder. The dance floor was completely covered with splotches of blood.

Or...at least it LOOKED that way. Upon closer inspection, our violent dancing had bashed most of our rose buttioneires, and the floor was merely littered with many red rose petals that had been freed. ^_^

Wow, you have had an exciting life! I didn't have a date for the prom (formal in Australia). I just went with some friends and their dates. It was a fun evening but nothing memorable. Also, I barely fit into my formal vest (and I was/am rather slim).

I didn't go to my prom. I did however go with Eric, Rob and Jerad to their proms.
I only remember one of them, it was on a big boat the music was loud and i was in the bathroom puking. (motion sickness) Good times!

Haha..... This is an interesting thread, I hadn't thought of my prom for awhile until I came across this thread. Lol, I was the guy like at most proms who liked to take center stage and be the dancing machine.

Since I love Jesus and I like to dance...this would have to be my prom song.
