Heh, I actually like a lot of these names and if I had a kid would at least consider some of them.

Does remind me of a story about myself though. Before I was born my dad wanted to name me Wolfgang lol. Naturally my mother didn't agree so they named me Patrick instead. Though I kinda like the name Wolfgang, so I am not trying to put down any Wolfgangs in here. Though I have to admit, I definately would not name a kid Wolfgang myself (I moreso favor the Biblical Era and Ancient European names even though my name is obviously not biblical.)

Oh and how could I forget Marcus? Though that actually might be an okay name for a kid.

You guys have no flair for life. I would TOTALLY use some of those names. Among the ones listed so far, I would use:

Hjalmar
Gustav
Octavius
Nimisha
Allegra
Esther (Essy in it's diminutive!)

I hope you are not planning on having children in any present-day anglophonic country.

Dude, Shouryu isn't just what you seen on the screen. The Asian side of my family is already loaded with non-Anglo names. Since I'm half-not-Anglo...why would I give a crap what one race thinks about a unique name?

Gustav (English and German) and Allegra (Italian and Spanish) are both very European, by the way, and while uncommon, they are still used, so they are hardly antiquainted.

well, i kind of agree. since it's incredibly unlikely i will be giving birth to children who require names in the future, my list could've just as easily been titled:

names monica will eventually use on her horses

I definitely don't love this name, but when I was in the hospital when I was born.....I was a valentines day baby so the nurse suggested to my biological mom (I was adopted, so that's why I stress the biological :p) that she name me valentino. My adopted mom told me she was there and that my bio mom was considering it, and she said "If you name that boy that, I'm going to slit your throat. I'm not joking".

lol, thank the Lord she was there to stop it

I wish someone had been at my birth to threaten my father with bodily harm when he named me. I hate my first name.
