The 'Insert a Smiley' pop-up is SUCH a PAIN sometimes ( does not even work half the time ) ...

Do you think we could do something like THIS ( see attached image ) and just loose the pop-up altogether?

Everything always goes smoothly for me, I'm on Windows. Windows 8 I believe.


Also, you can just type the symbols if the popup doesn't work. : ) (no space) automatically makes a smile, for example.
