They cannot because the Sabbath is not Saturday or literal day of the week. If it is lawful to heal on any day of the week, then it serves that love fulfills the law.

The true Sabbath is approaching. A day with the Lord is as 1000 years. So 6000 years were given to man to do work. What work? The works of the flesh. We know however that the Sabbath is close because of the things we see. In the test in the wilderness, God gave Israel enough manna for 2 days. Likewise we now have enough housing food and clothing for 12 billion people to finally rest from their labors. One only needs to be honest with themselves and look.

There is NO WAY that everyone could abide this. How are people supposed to tell their employers they can't work Sunday? That's not reasonable. God isn't going to judge people for say becoming a nurse or a chef when they knew they'd have to work on Sunday. I think it's fair to say that people should take a day each week to work on their relationship with God. Just can't be every seventh, not feasible.

danalee, Do you think that you can be so practical in your faith with the love of God in your heart and get away with your personal conviction when we have many who would chide you for caring for those on a recognized Sabbath? lol If we are much better then the fowls of the air in (Mt 6:26) are we not also better then the ass or ox that we retrieve on that recognized Sabbath from having fallen into a pit (Luke 14:5), never mind taking into account that Jesus healed on the Sabbath (Luke 13:10-14)...

Peace be with you dearest ClaudiaT, why did JESUS say this and when?

JESUS of Nazareth responded to the faithful followers of the teachings of Moses from GOD. They know these teachings by heart but 'fail to understand what is really GOD is looking for in a man'. And JESUS is that living proof, not only in words but also actions sent by the Living GOD to be the New Covenant 'author and finisher of our faith'. The religious Pharisees are also a living example and are well aware to the teachings about 'respecting the Sabbath' from their ancestors given by Moses. But there was a contention between the Pharisees and JESUS, the religious Pharisees respected the Sabbath as it is written in the 'Law of the letter' handed down from Moses and JESUS is found and witnessed to be breaking them. One in completely obediently resting and another is disobediently breaking it by still working and teaching others to do so while correcting the ones who were obediently resting and contenting according to their faith in Moses's Law.

Looks like JESUS understood best and revealed the full meaning of GOD's own heart about HIS initial given Law through Moses to the people of Israel. Best than also the religious Pharisees, who were chosen leaders as governors for Israel and also teachers. Also best than you, others and me, who are ignorantly going about in our so called 'religious freak show', showing off to the poor and burdening them, not knowing ourselves about the truth and revelation of CHRIST, the SON of GOD Himself in 'keeping the Sabbath'.

JESUS did not say or teach to do away with the Sabbath but gave it's full meaning of what it really means to 'Respect the Sabbath'.

What you have present in a long letter, sadly reveals your own babes faith in understanding and words of Holy Scripture, lacking CHRIST through the HOLY SPIRIT's revelation of the New Covenant, 'the new wine which must be placed in a new wine bag'. A characteristic similar to the Pharisees of the Old Testament who were also religious, 'an empty old wine bag skin once filled with old wine'.

JESUS said this that contradicts the Law and teachings of Moses; "My FATHER is always working and I too must work."

And this happened during the very day of Sabbath and these among many in controversy, angered the religious leaders of Israel even more to have JESUS persecuted for falsehood to Moses's Law.

On the day of Sabbath, the religious leaders of Israel spent their whole day in the temple with GOD by not working at all, as what it may seem to be in outward appearances and for a carnal mind can to understand and everyone were practicing this,

On the other side, on the same day of Sabbath, JESUS the SON of GOD spent HIS day doing what HE usually did every other days and with no rest at all and this angered the religious leaders, an outlaw breaking GOD's Law and deceiving the people of Israel.

Seem like JESUS did not even give rest to HIS tongue on the day of Sabbath, for HE went on correcting the hypocrisy that HE sees inwardly in them. Because on the very same Holy day, JESUS revealed to these religious hypocrites (even of today), their ignorance, laboring to bring their prized possession to the water to drink and the very Priest worked their duties in the temple.

Which is which now dear ClaudiaT? Are you representing CHRIST of the New Covenant, by the Help of the HOLY SPIRIT to explain grace and truth in revelation details or are you not seeing the lacking in them and in discipline of discipleship, going on ahead representing 'self' by the influence of the spirit of jexebel, ignorantly 'to take matters into your own hands to solve it'?.

i've been there and done em, but was corrected and chastised by GOD for falsehood and many more in order to learn obedience to HIS Word(CHRIST).

Another valuable LOVE lesson from the LORD JESUS CHRIST, for you and other women to 'abide', in order for you to escape the deception of evil, the spirit of jezebel.

As it i written; "Women are not allowed to teach nor practice authority over men."

Apart from the Holy Scripture Biblical teachings and revelations of the HOLY SPIRIT to abiding practices of submission to spirit and truth worshiping church authority and obedience to the every 'Word' of GOD the FATHER, are the manifestation of the devil's tricks in order to confuse the lambs and sheep of GOD to lead them to divisions and to astray. Sadly we are witnessing this in the churches today , the very practices of 'Lawlessness' towards Holy Scripture. We have ignorantly welcome, compromised and allowed Tom, Dick, Harry and Jane's spirit to speak their mind in church and neglecting diligently alone grace and truth foundation of CHRIST as our supposed pillar of faith placed on the 'rock'.

Please repent beloved ClaudiaT, for the LORD GOD of Israel loves you to turn back to HIM for you are HIS lamb for CHRIST JESUS our LORD, rather than continuing, when HE has made known to you about heading in the wrong direction by the deception work of HIS enemy.

May GOD the FATHER of our LORD JESUS CHRIST, forgive and rescue you from the deception of your very own flesh called 'self', which is itching and vulnerable to outer deceptions which manifests itself in false spiritual and physical forms.
