Well, when you drive a big ol' pick up truck (preferrably down Highway 40 with Freddie Prinze, Jr.), yeah, fuel is prohibitive. That's why you get something that trips on sips, yo.

The answer to all things automotive...

PRIUS.

I fixed it for you.

Pacific Coast - I'm in! I just need someone else to do all the driving so I can stare off into the distance, sing along to the radio and daydream. :) Let's take Shour's convertible and put the top down!

Music? Well, right now it's I'll Go Wherever You Will Go by The Calling. That seems appropriate.

SNACKS... You can't have a road trip without homemade beef jerky!

PERFECT!!!!!!!!

Let's go up the Oregon coastline! Maybe all the way up to Washington. Seattle, maybe.

I'll pack sourdough, cheese, fruit, and some wine. We'll have to stop and picnic...you know....open containers while driving and all. Wouldn't want you to have to bust me. That would kind of ruin the trip.
yeah, the oregon coastline is worth seeing at least once. sometimes i forget how pretty it really is.

if you guys play your cards right, i'll even make it rain for you... : )

Well, yes, plenty of rain, right? in the North-West. (Raymond Carver country...)

It is going to snow in a couple of days here. Again.. *sigh*

I'm getting road trip fever. How about you?
Let's run away!

So, where do you want to go right this minute?
What music would you be listening too?
What snacks would you take?

I don't know but that person better get their legs back in the car in that picture, julieannie, or they're gonna look different 'shortly.' :D

Seriously, the Lord leads, His paths are open, they are narrow, but, they are open , I want to go wherever He takes me. I'm open to go anywhere with the right person, or, just myself, even, all this with His timing, of course. And, if you are coming along for the ride, don't forget, you 'must love dogs.' :)

I'll admit though, I'm not truly interested in going anywhere right now, just taking care of things in my life, of work, mostly, learning things, and, also, playing chess, backgammon, going online a bit, and, watching a good movie every now and then, like Turner and Hooch or any good dog movie, really, :D .

But, road trip? Summertime, perhaps, somewhere. Pray for where you want to go now, and, then, don't worry, go on living your life, as He leads you, and, He will take you 'there.,' sometime, some day, some 'where,' and, if you don't see 'how,' He will--with faith!--still take you there, somehow :)

I'd like to go somewhere where it's like 70 degrees and not humid. That would be ideal.

OK, then don't go to Egypt. :p
We are living in a freezer right now. Every where including the west coast is really cold. I guess Descyple got his picture from his own imagination!! :D

(Of course, I DO see the irony of telling a die-hard Dodge truck owner the joys of Mazdaness...when Ram nee' Dodge is basically Fiat now...and Fiat just entered into a partnership with...that's right...Mazda. It was meant to be!)
I used to take road trips in my old truck a couple of times a year, but back then I was making about 25% more income and diesel fuel was a quarter of what it costs now. The last couple of road trips I've taken I've rented a car because the savings in fuel costs pays for the rental.

That

is

just

wrong

I have roadtripped to/through Wyoming before. It's amazing, and I'm itching to go through South Dakota and sight see and then go through Wyoming again.

I think road trips with people are fun (especially my family) but I don't mind driving by myself, blasting the music. But, assuming the road trip is with other people, I'd travel out west to the mountains, listening to anything but country and One Direction type music, and have Cheezits, Oreos, and juice as snacks. :D
that's definitely my kind of roadtrip.

i have always wanted to drive the full width of montana, and then over to the dakaotas.

the other place i'd like to go back to is the northeast. i spent time in RI when i was in the boston/RI area for work, and ended up spending a weekend in newport. what a lovely spot.

i got to drive around the mansions and a large bit of the rambling shore, but i'll never forget how the sea smelled driving along the coastline.

it was enchanting.

it was one of those moments earmarked to come back, and not alone.

Maybe when you're in South Dakota, go see Mount Rushmore with all the Presidents? :)

Blessings.
