Right, somewhere where we can drink, smoke and talk politics and religion.
 
I voted for the second "yes".... does that affect the vote at all??? :p I think a "girl's only" room would be a great idea! There have been many times when I've wanted to chat... but not with guys (no offense). I know the decision is up to me as to who I talk to, but still........ ..... ....... I vote yes! :D

I'm against men/women only rooms. I think it breeds distrust and eats away at the sense of community we have here. But yeah, if people do decide to go that route, I totally agree with Groundhog that there needs to be a men-only room too. Guys have private, guy-only issues too!

And to be slightly contentious, I think that guy issues are MORE deserving of a men-only room. When girls go into their girl issues, the guys say "Whhaa? That's not a big deal!" or "Man, that's gross, and TMI." When guys go into their issues, the girls say "You're such a sexist!" "I'm never getting married." or "You're such a perv!".

NEWSFLASH!

We aren't getting a Girls-only room, but we ARE getting a girls-only forum. YAY!

Robo is still working on it. At present it is only viewable to the 4 feamle moderators, and Robo while he continues to work on it.

There is a little more programming involved in creating this forum, than there is for a regular public forum (from my understanding).

So sit tight, I'm sure it won't be too far away.

I just wanted to keep you posted!

The statistics of attacks upon women are ever increasing, physical violence, rape and numerous things that can hamper a young womans spirit are ever present in not only our Nation here, but around the world. The statistics are becoming overwhelming as Satan's helpers are diligently out working to destroy anything good and of God.

Many of the chatters who come into this chatroom have either walked through this with Gods grace or are non-believers angry at God wanting to know why and venting out against Christians in general. I have done Womens Ministries not only in my church but in my community as well for years. I have seen first hand how important it is to have a closed room, a safety room of ministry... to sit, talk and pray quietly, to let Gods grace and love cover the wounds that no one else can see. It would very much help to have a quiet room to sit and minister to them. If you wish this site to be a site of Ministry in Gods leading. I hope you are able to do it Robo... It's a forum. A room is not possible, it's simply not an option for a number of reasons; but a forum is

It will only be viewable to female members and female moderators. Any further questions, then just ask.

We have worked out ways (the best we can) to allieviate any of the previously mentioned problems that may occur with a room/forum. The only option right now is a forum, and it won't be too far away!

There is only so much a public, internet, online site with anonymous users can do. If one is seeking the ministry they can get from an in person, personal, hands on, church body experience, then they should probably seek it in real life if at all possible.

Very true. It should also be mentioned that we aren't professional counsellors you know?

So if someone really has a fragile issue, is it really our place to try and guide them? We can pray for them, but I think we need to distinguish where to draw the line too.

Just a thought. Sometimes some things are best left to professionals.
 
Why is it that some Men think that everytime women get together all they do is gossip.. Sheeesh that is so unfair. I know of a man who refused to let his wife go the the church monthly ladies meetings because he said " You are not going there because it is nothing more then a gossip session. "
He couldn't have been any farther from the truth. We would have a church meeting, share our burdens. Prayer with each other. Sing and worship God, and someone always read and spoke something from the Bible that God had laid on their hearts. We had many powerful prayer meetings and seen the hand of God move in those monthly meetings. Anyhow I will stop rumbling on but I think you get my point. Women need to have someone they can share with and someone they can go to who understands what they are going through and Pray with them, uplift each other..

If we have female moderators and rules that are listed, I think women will act appropriately. If the teen room, the singles room and the young adults room can be handled, I think a womens room can be handled as well.

i do also believe that a men's forum would be appreciated...guys like gordon dalby, john eldredge, and stephen arterburn are finding plenty of audience in men who need to be able to express themselves and fellowship with other men...

While it may be unfair for him to make quite such blanket assumptions, as a man I can well empathise with his rather jaded impression of the opposite sex.
 
There was not an option for NO. I think it is good like it is. That is why we have PM, or to send a message.. GBU
 
i agree with you Kyra, i dont mind women having a room for issues of their own, but remember this will be the only room where both sexes arent welcome. That rubs me the wrong way. I mean, even girls can go to the sports room.
