To have a good fire, you need the fuel,The LAW; BUT when the stove gets full of dead ashes, you need the GRACE to clear the grates so the fire can get the air to burn hot again. Law and Grace are on the same team, they need each other. this is the great wisdom of God. Men keeps trying to improve God's ways; But, God's relationship of law and grace can not be improved . The END and the GOAL of the law is to save us; But, law can not do it alone, so the law calls upon Grace to finish the contract. Together they get the Job done. Jesus changed the unneeded laws and updated the law to its full intent and purpose, to help grace save, now law is the 777 super jet as compared to to the B2 bomber it was before the cross. Before "the FAITH" in Christ came, the law left a lot of destruct behind it; But now we fly comfortable, knowing Christ has imputed THE righteousness of God ,perfect, to our account ,so when we hit the air pockets, winds of adversity, we work it out in safty our our comfortable, air- con., cabin. UMMM Don't think it's grace,but the law of Christ is love.

John 13

33"Little children, I am with you a little while longer. You will seek Me; and as I said to the Jews, now I also say to you, 'Where I am going, you cannot come.' 34"A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another, even as I have loved you, that you also love one another.35"By this all men will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another."
 
some, how , I see it different.
I do not set aside grace, if the law could safe you Christ died for nothing.

peter went to a gentles house, when the law said or implyed don't go near gentles.

so peter, put faith, in god, and pushed aside, what the law had already told and instructed him, to what a clean and health walk with god was. and followed the direction that god, had told him,(in a vision) not law, that he grew up knowing. and this was not long after penticost. and by doing what god said, we now know that gentles can be saved.

Grace is love. When you give someone something they do not deserve (grace) you give it out of love.
 
Not one jot or tittle will pass from the law till all things be fulfilled....

Jesus fulfilled the righteousness which is demanded by the law in order to be perfect before the Father.....

The righteousness of the law is applied unto all genuine believers as we are seen through the blood of Christ....

The penalty of the law...separation from God (death) has also been settled by the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus and is also applied unto the genuine believer as in (We are raised in his likeness) His resurrected form.....

We are (chastised) by God when we get out of line and sometimes it goes as far as death for the destruction of the flesh that the SPIRIT MAY BE SAVED.....<----Not is the sense of might be, but rather--->the body is killed so as to preserve the spirit!

True, but when one gives the slightest thought to WHY Jesus took upon Himself the form of man........one has to understand that the PURPOSE of His birth, death, resurrection was to establish God's Salvation Plan for mankind............and that Salvation Plan is GRACE! Ergo, the Gospel of Christ..........the law of Jesus is GRACE...........and, yes, grace is love.........what greater love could there be? The New Covenant is Grace............If any professed believer denies this, then I have serious doubt about them...........just saying.........

I understand completely.

If someone does not understand grace is love. I have to wonder if they have truly experienced Gods love. because if they had, they would not even be questioning it

Ahh but remember the proof of that grace given to us is by the love we have for God and the love we have one for another.

No wonder your so stuck on law and afraid you may lose your salvation. You do not even know what grace and love is.

Not only on top of that it was one of Jesus commands

John 13

34 “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. 35 By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.”

Most would say the commandments are the law so in essence Jesus gave us a NEW LAW and the law is LOVE :)

Thus grace is love..Anythign which comes out of love is love..

God loved you so much he took the penalty of the law in your place. so that if you trust him. He will adopt you as his daughter forever. And never let you go. That is true love, and true grace
 
It is very important that we see both the OLD and the NEW covenants as a part of the Eternal Covenant of Grace. some call it the eternal cov. of Redemption. For me, GRACE is a broader word than redemption. Because, Grace is both undeserved love and undeserved power; Love can not save with out the power of God . the Power of God is what transforms the sinner into a Saint, a holy one, by the new heart, and the love of God is what "elects", "predestines" and "justifies", forgives the sinner of his guilt. The power of God "calls", "sanctifies" and "glorifies" the sinner. Heb.13:20-21 and Rom.8:29-30 speak of the eternal Cov. of Grace. Salvation has always been by GRACE, the power and love of God.
