pentecostal vs???

So I am a Pentecostal and tho my church has many "code of Ethics". I am also posting this here cause I'm not sure where else to post it. While I believe in the Pentecost that is spoke of in the Bible, my religious faith in God is firm. What I am getting at is why does my church and every denomination say that things are against the bible? The reason I say this for instance this is not a joke nor lie, some have said TV, Radio, to own a vehicle that cost more than 20k
Ect. Is against the bible.

Now I will admit some things on TV and radio has immoral topics and shows on!
I just wanted other opinions and to see why churches do this and what other relgions do this as well!
 
Obviously TV, radio and automobiles did not exist in the first century so scripture does not speak to them specifically. I know that many Pentecostal churches tend to lean against TV and radio because so much of modern broadcasting flaunts anti-biblical lifestyles. As for a car valued over $20,000 dollars the only thing I can thing of is that they're thinking its bad stewardship (be in the world but not of it). I'm not saying I agree with them, just offering a possible explanation for their stances.

But some people are just extremists. They feel a need to take the most extreme side of religion and push this extreme onto others. There are extremists everywhere, religious or not.
 
Oncefallen, I understand what you are saying but for instance my pastor preaches on giving to the church no big deal. But when he says don't buy a car over 20k and he himself is driving a Mercedes Benz I tent to double think where my offering is going and why we can't have big exspensive cars lol. I just don't get it

Not for the few in them that Jesus approves because of their extreme Faith in Him...rest is all gimmics,i grew up in a Pentecostal Fellowship.
But when i got Saved,i realized that there is no pentecost in Jesus,
and also realized Christians are lead by the Holy Spirit and not pentecost..

Actually if you read the whole Holy Scripture,there is no pentecostal people mentioned in it.Only that at the day of Pentecost,Holy Spirit came down to earth in a Mighty way.There are only Christians mentioned in the Holy Bible.The denominations are all man made...

Don't look at people who preach and whose personal lives you don't know,look at Jesus...confusions will go away.And we live in a real world,so might get dirty here and there sometimes when we pass through dirt.Then we are to get to Presence of God to wash us up clean by his Grace and gradually develop and attitude to stay in God.He will make us whole to the day of Perfection:)

The problem is not radio, TV, or expensive cars in themselves, the problem is the way we use this media or if we care about money or material things more than we should I guess is why some people think is incorrect though to say is against bible I think is too much, we have to look in the bible and ask God to gives us wisdom and understanding to discern if things are good or bad for us specifically.
 
Some pentecostal preacher like Benny Hinn have expensive car, expensive house. Look like depend on the individual not every pantecostal promote simple life. But in my opinion, wealth is endanger spiritual life. Jesus said it is easier for camel to enter to the eye of the needle than the rich enter to Heaven.

Yes,i do....in fact the True Church that is going to be Lifted up as the Male Child in Revelation is not restricted by man made walls.Many still live in the notion that 'my church and i will only go'...
i think they will sit here on earth when the unworthy they thought will Go...
There is no denomination in Jesus.Real Church contains those who Looked at Jesus and Him only to Live their Lives and is not a right for one particular group in some geographical location(the Real Christians live based on Holy Scriptural standards.That's His Bride-The True Church that spans over the Globe) .

Hmm...We are not Pentecostal, Baptist,Catholic, Non-Denominational, or what ever. We are children of the most high God. Christian, We worship at a Pentecostal, Baptist, Catholic, Non-Denominational church. How we choose to worship does not define us.

Do we honestly think it is in Gods will, that we divide the Body Of Christ by various religious doctrines?
Christianity is a life not a religion.

I have gone to churches where I did not agree with the pastor on some doctrinal issues, however I would never attend a church where the pastor is that much of a hypocrite.
 
The way I look at things is it is not wrong to have nice things. However I also look at it this way could they have bought a good car worth 15k and used the other 5k to 30k on helping others....YES. The same with a building they use to hold worship in, can they use a less fancy and big elaborate building to hold worship in...again YES. The money could have been used for better more helpful reasons. Even Jesus told his disciples that what ever money they were given when they go out to collect it, and use it to give to the needy in the next town, as what was shown in acts that the apostles kept carrying out. So when I see these big fancy churches or preachers driving around in a expensive car. I think look at all the wasted money that could have helped people. As for tv, radio, and so forth some people just go to far...extremists.

If your faith is as firm as you say you should plainly see the situation with your pastor.
Luke 12:34 (KJV) [SUP]34 [/SUP]For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.

I would suggest you immediately leave that church & find another, perferably one not so "professional" or "rich". Those that spend large amounts of money on themselves are usually full of themselves.

BTW, what pentecostal denomination is this church?
 
say you pull up to church in a bmw and some1 just got off the bus going to church whats going on in there mine? dont give the devil room thats all thats being said.
 
That is true! I don't have the best vehicle myself right now. I'd rather see a vehicle falling apart or a bus than a 100k vehicle at a church just don't look right
 
The biggest problem is the fact that it's pentecostal, most of the other issues just flow from that.
