Philippians 4:11 " Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content."
Good one!

I am happy, except I wish I had more friends, I'd settle for a good male friend. I don't feel the pull to get married, maybe that would change if I met the one. I think it bothers my best friend that I'm single more than me. I do feel lonely if I'm in a public setting where you would go with someone, eating out isn't much fun, etc. When I'm alone in my apartment I am perfectly happy, plus I have a cat.

Bride you sound very smart. Keep your eyes on God and it will all turn out to the good. I think people will think you will more happy if your married. Make sure to take your time and ask God if the person is right for you when the time comes. Enjoy your life single and have fun. God bless you, Love

I think this is a great thread and post by the OP. It's so important to be single and content before marriage rather than believing one can find true happiness only in a marriage or one's goal is to be married.
Great topic!

Sometimes I have moments when I feel lonely and I wish to find someone but I am happily single almost all the time and I do many things that I enjoy.
But when people ask me why I am not married with pity like “don´t worry, you´ll find someone…..” it is unconfortable sometimes.
Many years ago, my mother thought that was time for me to marry and started to say things and bought me all the movies about marriages that she found, but now I think that she gave up and now she accept my single status.:)

Genesis 1:18 And the LORD God said, “It is not good that man should be alone; I will make him a helper comparable to him.”

I think God gave us a natural desire to find someone, so it seems normal to me that we feel lonely sometimes. Just to let you know, I recognize many of the things I read.

@Liz01: I have exact the opposite situation: My mother doesn't push me at all to find someone. She is happy for me to stay at home far as long as possible. Typical i guess? :D

I'm single..everyone yearns to be loved,it is easy for ppl to say that Jesus loves us without experiencing His love first hand..everyday with Jesus is sweeter than a day before..is it true?..i came to Jesus when i ws 12 yrs old when i got abused by someone, was crying each day from that day onwards..i was raised up in a christian family but dint have i personal relationship with Him..thats when i heard that Jesus has not stopped doing miracles 2000 He still works in the lives of ppls..so i thought why shouldnt i try Jesus..when i searched for Him i found Him..Jesus became real to me..He healed ma brokenheart and ma wounds..but experience with Jesus is always very special:)it is not the same all the time..sometimes you could just talk to Him,you could see Him smile and so on..but the most vital thing is that you get the assurance that you are praying to a true God who is besides you and He'l surely answer your prayer's no matter what..this confidence helps you to pray boldly..whenever i meet someone in the Lord i always get a felin that she's the one for me,but later on Jesus will say no..Jesus will give us abundantly more than what we could even imagine at this moment..when the Israelites were lead out of Egypt they just followed God blindly,HE was leading from the front..likewise when it comes to our marriage lets ask Him to lead us..i knw for sure that He has prepared a bride for me..but waiting is a very difficult task..but the more we wait we goto understand that it is simply not a waste of time..we are waiting for The one whom the Lord has chosen for us..and that person wld be the best coz it is Jesus who Has chosen him/her..so lets wait upon Him..to live a happy single life we have to a closer walk with Jesus..everyday we should wake up with the joy of the Lord..orelse it'l get boring and our earthly search begins for someone who could give us the happiness.. dnt worry bout things ppl say about us..we'l be quick to listen and slow to speak..coz we knw that every good and perfect gift cometh from above..we'l be able to crucify our flesh only if our walk with Jesus is right not to please men alone and to earn praises from them saying that we are godly and stuff..if our vertical relationship is right then the horizontal relationship will be right too..Jesus found favour in the sight of God and Man..

Right now, I'm happily single. I am healing from years of "marital/ stepchildren junk". Been to counseling for three years, Christian for almost a year (baptized, saved for the second time in my life, and actively going to church-wise). Been reading the Bible for over five years. But right now, I am finding who I am, what I truly want, learning Christ, basically cleaning house. (Literally as well...) Living my life for once, with the help of Jesus Christ.
