The Law is not one of the Ten Commandments?

The Ten and the 603 all comprise the Law.

It cannot be split apart; it is a comprehensive, integral, intertwined unit.

Circumcision and animal sacrifice is as much of the Law as 'Do not murder.'

If you're going to keep the Law, you must keep it all.

I know families who have had the husband/father and older male children circumcised to be in obedience to the Law.

They also keep a young lamb or kid in their home for the days before they slaughter it for the Passover meal. They are careful to not call it a 'sacrifice', however, as they know how that jars folks scrutinizing their religion.

It's all or nothing, folks.

The really sad thing is that when they fail at keeping whatever part of the Law, they have no priesthood to represent them in the Old Covenant under which they've chosen to live. They cannot be blameless or declared righteous, even temporarily.

In reality, all of their Law-keeping is doing nothing for them but condemning them.

'Keeping' a watered down version doesn't cut it when it comes to righteousness.

Keep it all, or you keep none of it.
11 If perfection could have been attained through the Levitical priesthood—and indeed the law given to the people established that priesthood—why was there still need for another priest to come, one in the order of Melchizedek, not in the order of Aaron?

12 For when the priesthood is changed, the law must be changed also.

13 He of whom these things are said belonged to a different tribe, and no one from that tribe has ever served at the altar. 14 For it is clear that our Lord descended from Judah, and in regard to that tribe Moses said nothing about priests. 15 And what we have said is even more clear if another priest like Melchizedek appears, 16 one who has become a priest not on the basis of a regulation as to his ancestry but on the basis of the power of an indestructible life. 17 For it is declared:

“You are a priest forever,
in the order of Melchizedek.”

18 The former regulation is set aside because it was weak and useless 19 (for the law made nothing perfect), and a better hope is introduced, by which we draw near to God. (from Heb. 7)

[/QUOTE]hi JGIG carnt remember what thread did i quote you on to tired to look at the moment but ya know what i just had a thought , For a new thread its called Murphys law would that be more interesting or would that make some people actually stand up then,

lets just all lose are salvation eh lets tell people to only obey 2 commandments in the bible let start a doctrine that trashes the law or better still lets say the sabbath day is totally wrong so we have an excuse not to come to the truth or not own up to our faults , does that sound any better ? this is not aimed at you but the sooner people get less indoctrinated the better God bless

This is where doctrines get twisted jig but granted if you obey the ten commandment with out actual realizing it your probably not breaking many laws too and i think that's what most people should do read all the Leviticus laws and tie them in with the ten commandments to see if you can match them up,

And now where where starting to twist the word of God you do realize this why do people post all the levitcul laws to argue you ok not to keep the commandments,

and just for the record i do realize people can accidentally break them but as a one of God children you are suppose to try and not break them you are suppose to follow them

i believe talking against the law is bad, i don't believe we should be giving the people that talk against the law an opportunity to do so. Its seems like staring threads that will do that, is giving people fuel to make their fire bigger. its my hope that all come to repentance, and i don't want to be the cause of some one putting their foot in mouth. may the Almighty LORD be with you all on your journey, in Christ Jesus name i ask.

A few points to condiser about the law. Jesus came to fulfil the law. Lets establish that point. But let us also look at other points just in refrence to the law. This includes all the laws of the bible for the purpose of clarity.

  1. Sin will always be sin with or without the existence of Law.If no sin no need for any law.
  2. God’s Law is a Positive Thing that Helps us to see sin and disobiedence to the law.
  3. The Law is Works Based. Obeying the Law is man’s attempt at earning Salvation.
  4. No Flesh can achieve Righteousness by the O.T. Law there was no grace it was a matter of fact law this was what the law says this is what we do..
  5. Therefore, no one can be saved by observing the O.T. Law.That is why the law was foundational before grace but the law was not done away with only aspects of the law, the law in essence was revised when Jesus arrived on the scene
  6. Sin is not put on your account, if there is No law.
  7. Without the Law, no one knows what Sin Is.
  8. Without the existence of the Law there is no legal consequences for Sin.
  9. If you violate even one Law you are guilty of violating EVERY law remember sin is sin and the wages of sin is death under the law!
  10. The Law given in the natural realm is Applicable in the Spiritual Realm.
  11. The Law was designed to teach us we need a savior and to point us to Christ.
  12. The Law was given because of the evil that existed prior to the law.
  13. The law must be understood for spiritual implications and everyday use to make it liveable
Just some thoughts on the law. So talking against the law can mean you seek to understand the implications of the law or you don't understand how the law works.Great question and some good responses.

Very well spoken....

If all professing Christians (emphasize professing) had the understanding that the Law given to Moses was applied physically during the Old Covenant, they would also understand, by the Holy Spirit, that through Christ there is for sure a change, but that change is NOT the Word of God, the law being a substantial part. Man shall live by EVERY WORD that proceeds out of the mouth of God, and that's in the law Jesus recited to Satan. That's the way to live. I mean really live. God doesn't want anyone to perish, and all to come to the knowledge of he truth, even though there are many who will not. It's all or nothing.

Some professing Christians (emphasize professing) say that because the Priesthood changed from Levi to Judah, that means Jesus could rearrange anything He wanted, thereby going against His own Father's will of the Old Testament. The Old Testament was in effect until Jesus died. Therefore, all of what Jesus teaches us in the "Gospels" until His death is Old Testament. Jesus came to change us, NOT the law! He has given us the Spirit from God to recognize that the plan of salvation must include every word that has ever proceeded out of the mouth of God, including all the words He spoke to Moses and the Prophets.

Bottom line.
If professing Christians (emphasize professing) would stop finding fault with the law given to Moses, and endeavored to see it as Paul saw its spiritual relevance, then there would be no more bogus questions within the ranks of the church, desperately trying to change God's words according to the way flesh wants them to be. The carnal mind addresses only the physical aspects of the law that are not possible to keep in the flesh, therefore rendering it useless, and God's Word useless.

Romans 8:5-7 (KJV)
[SUP]5 [/SUP]For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit.
[SUP]6 [/SUP]For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.
[SUP]7 [/SUP]Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.

Why was Paul arrested? Answer.
He taught the law and the prophets correctly to prove Jesus as the true Messiah, and the divine plan of salvation before the world existed. The process of events are still applicable today, not only for the unbeliever, but for the believer, otherwise there would be no substance (faith Hebrews 11:1) given to us so we could die daily as Paul, or to pick up our cross daily and follow Christ. Some say "now that we have faith there is no reason for a schoolmaster anymore." A rhetorical question arises in my mind. Are you capable of finding your own way now because you are free to take a different route because, in your mind, faith certainly cannot be associated with the law?

To all who read this I emphatically suggest contemplating these following scripture references. If you cannot get it, remember that talking against the law is dangerous.

Hebrews 4:1 (KJV)
[SUP]1 [/SUP]Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise being left us of entering into his rest, any of you should seem to come short of it.

Romans 7:14 (KJV)
[SUP]14 [/SUP]For we know that the law is spiritual: but I am carnal, sold under sin.

1 Samuel 15:22-23 (KJV)
[SUP]22 [/SUP]And Samuel said, Hath the LORD as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the LORD? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams.
[SUP]23 [/SUP]For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. Because thou hast rejected the word of the LORD, he hath also rejected thee from being king.

John 3:12 (KJV)
[SUP]12 [/SUP]If I have told you earthly things, and ye believe not, how shall ye believe, if I tell you of heavenly things?

It is not smart to label those of us as Pharisaical who observe the true intention of the law God gave to Moses like Paul and Jesus.

John 7:19 (KJV)
[SUP]19 [/SUP]Did not Moses give you the law, and yet none of you keepeth the law? Why go ye about to kill me?

Acts 24:10a and14 (KJV)
[SUP]10 [/SUP]Then Paul, after that the governor had beckoned unto him to speak, answered,
[SUP]14 [/SUP]But this I confess unto thee, that after the way which they call heresy, so worship I the God of my fathers, believing all things which are written in the law and in the prophets:

John 5:43-47 (KJV)
[SUP]43[/SUP]I am come in my Father's name, and ye receive me not: if another shall come in his own name, him ye will receive.
[SUP]44 [/SUP]How can ye believe, which receive honour one of another, and seek not the honour that cometh from God only?
[SUP]45 [/SUP]Do not think that I will accuse you to the Father: there is one that accuseth you, even Moses, in whom ye trust.
[SUP]46 [/SUP]For had ye believed Moses, ye would have believed me: for he wrote of me.
[SUP]47 [/SUP]But if ye believe not his writings, how shall ye believe my words?

Actually you right it is USELESS to quote from the OT if you trying to enforce a law, but if you teaching History, or show principles is ok,
But is paramount to remember, Jesus died in the cross to fulfill the law, so a new covenant could be established...
Galatians 3

King James Version (KJV)

3 O foolish Galatians, who hath bewitched you, that ye should not obey the truth, before whose eyes Jesus Christ hath been evidently set forth, crucified among you?

[SUP]2 [/SUP]This only would I learn of you, Received ye the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?

[SUP]3 [/SUP]Are ye so foolish? having begun in the Spirit, are ye now made perfect by the flesh?

.........
[SUP]24 [/SUP]Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith.
[SUP]25 [/SUP]But after that faith is come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster.
Foolish is those who want to be complete by the law - which no one here claims.
Foolish is those who keep accusing others of such.

Very good post :D.

You are right, you cant obey some of the Mosaic laws and not be condemned by the rest (after all the law's purpose is condemnation on sinners). If I say "I like x,y and z of the 10 commandments" but think the rest to be wrong, I will be condemned by those laws I chose to ignore. I agree with you that the law is a unit, not parts. This is why Paul said:
3 For I testify again to every man that is circumcised, that he is a debtor to do the whole law. Gal 4:3
Paul is saying, in effect, that if you obey a single law with in the Mosaic laws, all the rest will condemn you. You can't say to God on judgement day "Look God, I kept a perfect kosher diet and kept the Sabbath. Aren't you proud of me?" But God will say, "Depart from me, for I never knew you", because you did not obey it all.

I think this should also be considered concerning what Paul is saying in effect. Meditation, and contemplation, without exhortation required at this point.;)

Acts 24:14-19 (KJV)

[SUP]16 [/SUP]And herein do I exercise myself, to have always a conscience void of offence toward God, and toward men.
[SUP]17 [/SUP]Now after many years I came to bring alms to my nation, and offerings.
[SUP]18 [/SUP]Whereupon certain Jews from Asia found me purified in the temple, neither with multitude, nor with tumult.

Very grateful for you ideas, but What law?
It seam as you know lots about the subject, so please tell us at least how many commandments are in the law?
Or how this LAW IS CALLED so we could be careful to follow those commandments?

Please?
The word “law” occurs 223 times in the New Testament of the King James Version. The word “ordinances,” which means law occurs seven times. So lets just take that for a moment. The law was the foundation by which order was made to restore order to a disobedient people. Moses went and had time with God who gave him the basic law. Now the basic law also had over 613 laws to govern the people. Let us establish that point.
These laws were then broken down into sub catogories to make them easier to understand for the keepers of the law. There were four grouping of law which are
1. The Ten Commandments

2. The religious ceremonial laws

3. The health laws

4. The civil laws
One of the major problems with the words “law,” “ordinances,” and “covenant” in the New Testament is that it is often not clear which “law” or “covenant” is being discussed. But in each case God has given us a way to know which law or covenant is meant. Lets look at somethin for a moment.
[SIZE=+2]Paul says in Romans 3:31, “Do we then make void the law through faith? God forbid: yea, we establish the law.” A law that is established is certainly not abolished or nailed to the cross.Think on that. The law was to be continued in the New testament. Now if you rightly divide the word you will know that if Jesus says to do a thing it then becomes a commandment or a law, simply because God his father is the author of the law he he only does what his father does. That being the case we look deeper into the law as written in the New Testament. For a basis Let us jut focus on the 10 commandments of the old Testament then I'll show you the revised 10 Commandments in the new testament and not the other 600 plus laws right now
FIRST COMMANDMENT
2 I am the LORD thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.

3 Thou shalt have no other gods before me.

SECOND COMMANDMENT
4 Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth.

5 Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me;

6 And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments.

THIRD COMMANDMENT
7 Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain; for the LORD will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain.

FOURTH COMMANDMENT
8 Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.

9 Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work:

10 But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates:

11 For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.

FIFTH COMMANDMENT
12 Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee.

SIXTH COMMANDMENT
13 Thou shalt not kill.

SEVENTH COMMANDMENT
14 Thou shalt not commit adultery.

EIGHTH COMMANDMENT
15 Thou shalt not steal.

NINTH COMMANDMENT
16 Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbour.

TENTH COMMANDMENT
17 Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's house, thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor any thing that is thy neighbour's.
New testament
FIRST COMMANDMENT 'You shall worship the Lord your God, and Him alone shall you serve.' (Matthew 4:10, see also 1Corinthians 8:4-6)
SECOND COMMANDMENT 21. Little children, keep yourselves from idols.
(1John 5:21, see also Acts 17:29)
THIRD COMMANDMENT 'Our Father Who is in heaven, hallowed be Your name . . '
(Matthew 6:9, see also 1Timothy 6:1)
FOURTH COMMANDMENT 'The Sabbath was made for man, and not man for the Sabbath; 28. Therefore, the Son of man is Lord even of the Sabbath.' (Mark 2:27-28, Hebrews 4:4, 10; Acts 17:2)
FIFTH COMMANDMENT 'Honor your father and your mother'
(Matthew 19:19, see also Ephesians 6:1)
SIXTH COMMANDMENT 'You shall not murder'
(Matthew 19:18, see also Romans 13:9, Revelation 21:8)
SEVENTH COMMANDMENT 'You shall not commit adultery'
(Matthew 19:18, see also Romans 13:9, Revelation 21:8)
EIGHTH COMMANDMENT You shall not steal.'You shall not steal'
(Matthew 19:18, see also Romans 13:9)
NINTH COMMANDMENT 'You shall not bear false witness'
(Matthew 19:18, see also Romans 13:9, Revelation 21:8)
TENTH COMMANDMENT You shall not covet
(Romans 13:9, see also Romans 7:7)

Let this sink in for a moment and we can go deeper into the whole law if need be.I hope this helps

not worried, i love talking about the Almighty and His Word. Love sharing what the Lord has done in my life, and i believe the blessings come with being obedient to the things the LORD commanded in His Word. it just makes me cringe when i see people speaking against the Word, and saying its not for us, or when they start speaking against it, because i know better because its been proven in my life. This madness against the law is getting fierce, satan really hates it when people want to do what the Word says. satan said to eve, did God say, and convinced her to eat the forbidden fruit. Christ Jesus be with you all.
