The same way the bible says to, and only that way. Read Acts and that will tell you how to start a church according to the bible. Also take the time to read all of the New Testament to fully understand what it takes , for instance, appointing elders, deacons, preachers and teachers.
And remember instruments are of Satan, but only if they're used to worship God. Because New Testament or something...

Now, concerning "offices" within a congregation...........First thing that must be understood is that those appointed by the vote of the whole congregation to serve in an "office.....Board of Directors......Pulpit Committee.......Deacons.....Worship Leader.....Music Leader......etc......" are subservient to the WHOLE CONGREGATION. They are "servants" of the congregation. They are not dictators of the congregation.

Is this Biblical? Read Acts, Chapters 14 - 15 to see this in action........in Scripture. I'm not going to post the entire Chapter here. Rather, I will "nut shell" it, and - if any doubt, they can read it for themselves.

1) The Church (congregation) at Jerusalem is considered to be the first such body of believers.
2) James is considered to have been the "Pastor" of the church at Jerusalem
3) The Apostles were members of that church/congregation
4) Elders had been appointed and were members of that church/congregation
5) When the events spoken of in Chapters 14 - 15 in Acts, the Pastor, Apostles, Elders, and the WHOLE CONGREGATION came together........debated/discussed what would be taught to the Gentiles.......

They reached a state of "one accord." There is NO DIFFERENCE in this and what occurs in church congregations today. I do not find that to be "foolishness." It is clearly in keeping with Scripture.

God bless

Hey Tintin, hope all is well. Ephesians 5:19, Colossians 3:16, God doesn't seem to want instruments this time around, although I see in the future, as in heaven there's a mention of an instrument we might get to strum.

Hello Deadtosin,

It sounds as though you already have a congregation. Is it necessary to 'start' anything? Just wait and see if God adds to your numbers. If you are each already, as individuals, enjoying the fellowship that we all share - with the Father and with His Son through the Spirit: then you already have all that you need.

:)
Thank you :) Your words reflect greatly how I feel.

those are actually along the same lines of focus I want to have on our first assembly. What are we supposed to be as a church? what does the bible say? what does everyone expect?
I have always felt like my opinion/view point/ beliefs didn't matter in any church I've attended (not taking anything away from anyone else's) I've always believed everyone should have a voice. Whether it's ideas, concerns or even a revelation to Gods Word. You have no idea how helpful your posts have been.

The MAIN THING is to have as your foundation the Word of God! As your Teacher, the Holy Spirit.

An important lesson that some churches never learn is that Pastors, Bishops, Elders, Deacons ARE NOT the FINAL AUTHORITY of a church congregation. The WHOLE congregation are the "decision makers." These others are SERVANTS of the whole body/congregation.......More than a few churches have strayed far from Christ because they did not learn this Truth.

that's why I want everyone to have a voice. God can speak to the least of us.

In this economy I would find a good pastor, and apprentice then get the funds and members for your own church. no way would I waste money on a theology degree unless I wanted to do other things too.
