Take a look at this. Click the link. Which Bible verses did the NIV delete?

The NIV writers will defend it by saying its to make things a lot clearer and help people understand. But its more sinister than that as you go deep into the real reason why. you will be shocked. Is it really money orientated? or is there a more sinister reason behind it all. ?

[SIZE=+2]WHOLE Bible verses deleted in the NIV[/SIZE]
The following WHOLE verses have been removed in the NIV--whether in the text or footnotes...over 40 IN ALL!!!
Matthew 12:47 -- removed in the footnotes

Matthew 17:21 -- COMPLETELY removed [also deleted from the Jehovah's Witness "Bible"]. What are you NIV readers missing?
"Howbeit this kind goeth not out but by prayer and fasting."

Matthew 18:11 -- COMPLETELY removed [also deleted from the Jehovah's Witness "Bible"]. What are you NIV readers missing?
"For the Son of man is come to save that which was lost."

Matthew 21:44 -- removed in the footnotes

Matthew 23:14 -- COMPLETELY removed [also deleted from the Jehovah's Witness "Bible"]. What are you NIV readers missing?
"Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye devour widows' houses, and for a pretence make long prayer: therefore ye shall receive the greater damnation."

Mark 7:16 -- COMPLETELY removed [also deleted from the Jehovah's Witness "Bible"]. What are you NIV readers missing?
"If any man have ears to hear, let him hear."

Mark 9:44 -- COMPLETELY removed [also deleted from the Jehovah's Witness "Bible"]. What are you NIV readers missing?
"Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched."

Mark 9:46 -- COMPLETELY removed [also deleted from the Jehovah's Witness "Bible"]. What are you NIV readers missing?
"Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched."

Mark 11:26 -- COMPLETELY removed [also deleted from the Jehovah's Witness "Bible"]. What are you NIV readers missing?
"But if ye do not forgive, neither will your Father which is in heaven forgive your trespasses."

Mark 15:28 -- COMPLETELY removed [also deleted from the Jehovah's Witness "Bible"]. What are you NIV readers missing?
"And the scripture was fulfilled, which saith, And he was numbered with the transgressors."

Mark 16:9-20 (all 12 verses) -- There is a line separating the last 12 verses of Mark from the main text. Right under the line it says: [The two most reliable early manuscripts do not have Mark 16:9-20] (NIV, 1978 ed.) The Jehovah's Witness "Bible" also places the last 12 verses of Mark as an appendix of sorts.

Luke 17:36 -- COMPLETELY removed [also deleted from the Jehovah's Witness "Bible"]. What are you NIV readers missing?
"Two men shall be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left."

Luke 22:44 -- removed in the footnotes

Luke 22:43 -- removed in the footnotes

Luke 23:17 -- COMPLETELY removed [also deleted from the Jehovah's Witness "Bible"]. What are you NIV readers missing?
"(For of necessity he must release one unto them at the feast.)"

John 5:4 -- COMPLETELY removed [also deleted from the Jehovah's Witness "Bible"]. What are you NIV readers missing?
"For an angel went down at a certain season into the pool, and troubled the water: whosoever then first after the troubling of the water stepped in was made whole of whatsoever disease he had."

John 7:53-8:11 -- removed in the footnotes

Acts 8:37 -- COMPLETELY removed [also deleted from the Jehovah's Witness "Bible"]. It's deletion makes one think that people can be baptized and saved without believing on the Lord Jesus Christ. Sounds Catholic. What are you NIV readers missing?
"And Philip said, If thou believest with all thine heart, thou mayest. And he answered and said, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God."

Acts 15:34 -- COMPLETELY removed [also deleted from the Jehovah's Witness "Bible"]. What are you NIV readers missing?
"Notwithstanding it pleased Silas to abide there still."

Acts 24:7 -- COMPLETELY removed [also deleted from the Jehovah's Witness "Bible"]. What are you NIV readers missing?
"But the chief captain Lysias came upon us, and with great violence took him away out of our hands,"

Acts 28:29 -- COMPLETELY removed [also deleted from the Jehovah's Witness "Bible"]. What are you NIV readers missing?
"And when he had said these words, the Jews departed, and had great reasoning among themselves."

Romans 16:24 -- COMPLETELY removed [also deleted from the Jehovah's Witness "Bible"]. What are you NIV readers missing?
"The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen."

I John 5:7 -- Vitally important phrase COMPLETELY removed [also deleted from the Jehovah's Witness "Bible"]. In the NIV it says, "For there are three that testify:"

Compare the NIV reading with the following Jehovah's Witness reading-- "For there are three witness bearers,"

I'm sure there are more. but take a look in the ESV Bible, the NLT bibles and see the verses has been changed completely, or even deleted. and think about it people. The NIV - ESV and NLT and even the NWT bibles are all unauthorised, any bible unauthorised, should be a ringer in your alarm by now. Makes you think whats really going on behind all this.

UMMM Their not missing in my NIV. Many are in the footnotes. Luke 22:43-44 are in the main body of the text, not in the footnotes, same with Matthew 12:47. Same with Matthew 21:44

They are not missing at all. Simply scroll down in the footnotes. The reason why they are footnotes is because sometimes not all manuscripts provide that part. (Many people wrote these by hand. Imagine 25 people copying down a sermon like they were doing when Jesus was speaking word for word. Then imagine mass producing these manuscripts. KJV onlyists want to think all LATIN BASED manuscripts are without error (since the KJV is mainly translated from the Latin Vulgate)...but use your common sense in a modern situation. Imagine copying down your pastor's sermon word for word and letter for letter without letter...Imagine 50 people in your church doing this. Do you think they are all going to have the exact same words down on the first try? No. Why does this happen? Because sometimes people hear one word and they think another word. Sometimes, they get distracted. Sometimes, it is even a case of not being able to read your own handwriting.

Another reason these verses seem to be "missing" (And I quote that because that is what you said...not what I adhere to) is because the Latin Vulgate is a fat text. In other words, it is fluffy and not as too the point as most modern versions. The point of the modern versions like the NIV is to trim down a lot of that fluff that was added by the Latin language while at the same time still preserving the same ideas and concepts that were presented.

Another reason they seem "removed" is because the phrases are not in the original manuscripts which were predominantly written in GREEK and HEBREW. Please, don't pull the "But God spoke first to the English" and "God preserved words only in the KJV" arguments...I've heard them a million times and those arguments only came into being because people took that verse way out of context of the author's intent.

I think I'll step off my pulpit now. You KJVonly advocates have heard these arguments and read these before yet you still believe that the KJVonly path is better. It's like I just wasted my brain just now.

You may have said that in the OP but the tile of thread is WHAT VERSES DID THE NIV DELETE? If the verse is the text then that verse has NOT been deleted from the Bible has it? You may have been honest about the verse NOT BEING in the footnotes but it was dishonest to say the verse was deleted from the NIV in the first place.

The quote and title of the thread is the same as the link to the original site that explained all about it. So it wasnt a question that I was asking, but I quoted the same title of the link given in the OP. The list below in the op, was a sample from the site. Hence why I said in the op, in the first line, Take a look at this, Click the link. so there was my question really, is for you and all to ask you to take a look.

God bless

I am confused. What's this about the jehovah witness bible.

The New World Translation is the bible produced by the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society (the JW's). In many verses errors in translation minimize/remove the deity of Christ which isn't surprising since the man who translated it had absolutely no verifiable knowledge of the ancient languages.

*see post "Codexsinaiticus.org" (in the bible discussion forum) to see a manuscript that has been used as example of "ancient text that didn't have those verses." There are photos and text taken from said website above. Showing CLEARLY where fresh letters are written over different older letters, and crammed words in various places and text from the codex sinaiticus website that state "changes were made to the document at some point in history." Codex Sinaiticus doesn't agree with the thousands (majority) texts that agree to 99.5% Along with the Codex Vaticanus (in the Vatican) that doesn't agree with the thousands either, nor do they agree with each other. These are the two most prominent manuscripts that were utilized in creating "new age" versions. Also the NIV before 1984 is different than more modern versions. Ergo there may be differences in your own NIV than what some websites will denote. However that doesn't make them lies, there are LOTS of different versions going around. The key to selecting a good bible is not in finding the best translation, but finding one that is the right 'transcription."

I have picked up niv's, and I found many scriptures has been deleted. like for example, try find Matt 17: 21 and Matt 18: 11 and acts 8: 37? and the excuses the Niv are saying mean nothing, Look in the ESV for those verses too. So yeh I have picked up NIV's. Have you?

NIV was my favorite bible for years brother. Trust me it was an outrageous day when I learned the truth. There were clinched teeth and tears to be sure.

sinai 11.jpgsinai 9.jpgsinai 10.jpg changes were made to the NIV largely due to discrepancies from this text. Codex Sinaiticus. There are more images and actual text taken from Codexsinaiticus.org in a post labeled the same in the bible discussion forum which states that "clearly changes were made to this scripture at some point in history" again from "it's own website."

God guide you

Matthew 17:21 "But this kind does not go out except by prayer and fasting." - NASB

Matthew 17:21 Some manuscripts include here words similar to Mark 9:29. - NIV

Mark 9:29
He replied, "This kind can come out only by prayer." - NIV

Matthew 18:11 "For the Son of Man has come to save that which was lost. - NASB

Matthew 18:11 Some manuscripts add verse 11, And the Son of Man came to save those who are lost. Compare Luke 19:10.

Luke 19:10 For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost." - NIV

Acts 8:37 And Philip said, "If you believe with all your heart, you may." And he answered and said, "I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God." - NASB

Acts 8:37 Some manuscripts include here Philip said, “If you believe with all your heart, you may.” The eunuch answered, “I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.” - NIV
.

I have picked up niv's, and I found many scriptures has been deleted. like for example, try find Matt 17: 21 and Matt 18: 11 and acts 8: 37?.

Still there :)

I don't believe that any of the so called "missing verses" has a unique teaching, so that the entire bible is worthless.

Luke 3:22 , You are my beloved Son with whom I am well pleased

there is a footnote in the ESV, some manuscripts, "Son, today I have begotten you." I think that should be in the main text, and not as a footnote.

If I understand correctly, some verse is delete, some verse move to the footnote.

In this case in my opinion, nothing wrong to learn what is the reason. whether deliberately to mislead or to correct or something else.
