When one worships the Word, that is all the instruction contained therein, he is worshipping Jesus Christ, Yeshua, as Lord and Salvation.

There seems to be great confusion from some thinking worshipping the Word is apart from worshipping Yeshua. I advise those who believe this to read the first chapter of John, then the resto of the Word.
If you were to say "we worship God by reading and studying His Word", I would say YES!!!

But to say that you worship the text... is going too far.
Respect and worship are 2 separate things.

The Holy Spirit is what makes the text alive, and the Spirit makes the words of the Bible text into The Word.
Christ is within us. The Bible is the medium between the realms, not the source.

Please read the first chapter of the gospel of John.............this is the basis of the declaration, not my own interpretation. I believe the Word, the Word became flesh and dwelt among us. There is no error in stating this. Nowhere has the word text been mentione by me. I speak of the Word, and the Word is God. This is not a word game, no pun intended, it is from God by the Holy Spirit for all who will receive it. Whether you interpret the Word as text, I do not, is something you must iron out. Until then I ask not to be overshadowed by others interpretations of what is stated by so many with understanding. The Word as taught in the Word is what is worshipped. Text is not even thought of in passing. God bless you and keep you, now and forever, amen.

I am having to use the word "text" so that you understand the difference between the words on the page, and the Word. The word 'word' is being used too many times, and for too many things for people to even understand what is being said.

Are you worshiping the words, or Christ that is made known through the words?

Also, I know John 1 very well. The 'Word made flesh' is not the problem here.

I think I'll have to back out of this debate. The opinions on both sides are making me feel too uncomfortable.
I believe you both go too far, and I will leave it at that.

Is Torah not text?

No, you wrote,

"To say Jesus Christ is Torah with understanding is perfectly correct. Did you ask if the person means just the law? He is also those teachings for He is all of the Word. All that is written [that would be text, would it not?] is for our edification, not for our editing. It is from God."

Yet you asserted that "Jesus Christ is Torah". Torah is clearly written text. Scrolls carried around and kissed in synagogues and Messianic fellowships the world over.

You're not being honest with us nor with yourself.

Say, do you know where that belief that 'Yeshua is the Living Torah' comes from? Do you know? Do you know who does what to John 1 to arrive at that belief?

We all do our best to share what we understand from the Word, and thus I use the Word, Itself, as my source.

Had I had the word, text, in mind it could only be in reference to the writing that the written code kills. It is the Holy Spirit Who gives life.

I am surprised you think I am not aware of what I have read and understood implicitely in John 1. Not because I am older, and not because I have studied the Word repeatedly since well before you came to be with us all in this age, but because it seems you assume I have not learned of the Holy Spirit, and this is hurtful. I do not assume such of any of the family in Yeshua.,,

I didn't assume any of that. You are reading into my phrasing too much.

I questioned your interpretation,
but I didn't question your efforts in study, intelligence, or Spirit.

Don't take the little disagreements so hard. I know we still agree on and in Christ.

I apologize if I understand the above as questioning whether or not I know the difference between word and text when I make reference to the first chapter of John. My bad I suppose. God bless you for your sharing.

I should have said something along the lines of,
"I used the word 'text' so that I could more clearly distinguish between the 'words' in the Bible, and the 'Word' who is revealed in the Bible."

-but even that isn't a perfect way of sayin what i'm sayin

The Eternal Son of God is called "the Word" and He is God. The "text" of the Bible is called the word of God. The "word of God, the Bible is not God , nor is it absolute as God is the Absolute. The Bible can only be as absolute as God .its author wants it to be. When God want to Change the Bible, His word, He does so. God can change His word for mankind any time He wants to. God did change His words in the Old T.. because He is the absolute , not His Bible. The Bible does contain some absolutes about God that will never change. God can not lie, that is an absolute in the Bible. The offering of lambs in the OLD T. was changed because that was not an absolute fact. The New T. changed some things in the OLd T. which were not absolutes. Please do not twist JGIG words and make him into a liar. This is sin. Repent. Love to all Hoffco

Have you all noticed that some people here are simply speaking of scripture and others are using scripture to throw personal slams like "liars". Some are trying to speak for themselves and some are looking for truth in God's word.

The root of the ones with the tempers seems to be in the word "law". It makes people angry, even when what we are talking about is understanding what God explains in the OT through the rediscovery of information through archeology.

I wonder if Paul himself could get this straightened out!! He had people in a tizzy even when he was here, remember when they said, in Acts 18, that he was teaching to worship against the law?

God rules the universe by law and math, from how time is counted to how we aren't to steal from each other. It bewilders me to hear people become so riled up about it. God made it clear that He only asks us to try our best to go by it and forgives when we miss. So what is the huge fuss?

Now there is a big fuss when a group of people are digging deeply into those 4,000 or so years that God worked to show His principles. They want to require all people to have nothing to do with it. Some of these same people are just fine with such as Easter that isn't even in scripture at all, and have kittens over Passover that is.

These roots people aren't changing anything the angry people are accusing them of, like asking God to let them decide on their own salvation through law. Or doing physical things without the spiritual to worship. They aren't angry and hollering "liars" "cults".

I am one of the "liars" according to JGIG who is accused of twisting words. I am a simple person looking for God's truth and would never do anything to harm anyone. If I am twisting words, it is misunderstanding of something said about scripture. Scripture is important, I'm not. If something is twisted it needs to be straightened out for scriptures sake. It is necessary to do it, and it can't be done when it isn't about scripture any more but about what a terrible person I am.

cults are those that follow men and reject the bible
like the major religions who do not listen to the bible but take in lots of money and kill people eternally and dont give a rip for the truth.

We worship our Mighty One by reading and doing His Word. see, we can argue until doomsday about word choice, and what will that profit? I say the god of this world, satan, is loving every time we tear down a brother because he didn't say it exactly like you want to hear it. It keeps one busy.
