Paul kept the Passover and Days of Unleavened Bread...

1Co 5:6 Your glorying is not good. Know ye not that a little leaven leaveneth the whole lump?
1Co 5:7 Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened. For even Christ our passover is sacrificed for us:
1Co 5:8 Therefore let us keep the feast, not with old leaven, neither with the leaven of malice and wickedness; but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.
laughably you believe (and not funny at all, continue to teach - see Rev 22) that paul was teaching former pagans to scour their cupboards for yeast.

an 8 year old can read it (in context - you need to understand how to read God's holy word in context, son) and know the analogy of the shadow (leaven) was illustrating sin, and the sinful man (fornicator) in the congregation they were tolerating.

just because you've been acting out the pseudo-legal junk from armstrong's wwcog cult for decades doesn't mean you get a pass on teaching it. stop your false teaching, thanks.

Now why was he telling these Gentiles that they needed to be spiritually (the leaven of the Pharisees) unleavened if they already were unleavened? Because they had removed the physical leaven but missed the point of the spiritual leaven, just as you have missed the point.

1Co 5:8 Therefore let us keep the feast, not with old leaven, neither with the leaven of malice and wickedness; but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.

According to you, Paul left out the word "not" just beore the word keep here. But I prefer the way it is written, let us KEEP the Feast.

Maybe you can explain to us how this really refers to chocolate bunnies, colored eggs and Ishtar.

this is funny. that you seem to actually believe this.
it wasn't the leaven of the pharisees in that chapter (corinthians). it was sin (which yeast signified, also. context obviously determines the use. Jesus clarified what the leaven of the pharisees was in another use):

Luke 12
12 In the meantime, when so many thousands of the people had gathered together that they were trampling one another, he began to say to his disciples first, “Beware of the leaven of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy.

(still SIN).

seems you can't understand what paul is saying. but that's because you have a ccog cut and paste armory ready and never read the bible. please read all of LUKE below. it addresses the first day of the week and sabbath.

anyway, per corinthians:
kick out the fornicator (whom paul had already judged from afar to be killed by satan), so that they would be a new lump (without the old leaven of malice and evildoing)..clearly, if they purged out the fornicator and their own sin by allowing it and apparently glorying in it taking place, they would be a new lump, as they were to be unleavened.

you don't understand why the word 'even" is in there? :)

1Co 5:8 Therefore let us keep the feast, not with old leaven, neither with the leaven of malice and wickedness; but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.

who cares what you "prefer"? let us KEEP the Feast.

for the tenth time, the word THE is not in the greek. it says let us keep feast. paul is saying, i know this is hard: let us keep the perpetual feast (christian love and life) without the old sinful ways. purge out the sinner in your midst and your approval of it and him and be without sin and the old ways.

but, being an apparent armstrong cult lifer, you really need paul to be saying:

john832 Therefore let us keep the feast of unleavened bread (and passover?:)), by scouring our homes for old baking yeast and so not having it around, neither the leaven of malice and wickedness; but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.

are you for real, man?

Maybe you can explain tous how this really refers to chocolate bunnies, colored eggs and Ishtar.
it doesn't. i'm not interested in that, though a little chocolate was nice this week.

btw. could you look this over and tell me how you make this anything other than Christ risen from the dead on the first day of the week?

Luke 24
24 Now upon the first day of the week, very early in the morning, they came unto the sepulchre, bringing the spices which they had prepared, and certain others with them.
2 And they found the stone rolled away from the sepulchre.
3 And they entered in, and found not the body of the Lord Jesus.
4 And it came to pass, as they were much perplexed thereabout, behold, two men stood by them in shining garments:
5 And as they were afraid, and bowed down their faces to the earth, they said unto them, Why seek ye the living among the dead?
6 He is not here, but is risen: remember how he spake unto you when he was yet in Galilee,
7 Saying, The Son of man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and the third day rise again.
8 And they remembered his words,
9 And returned from the sepulchre, and told all these things unto the eleven, and to all the rest.
10 It was Mary Magdalene and Joanna, and Mary the mother of James, and other women that were with them, which told these things unto the apostles.
11 And their words seemed to them as idle tales, and they believed them not.
12 Then arose Peter, and ran unto the sepulchre; and stooping down, he beheld the linen clothes laid by themselves, and departed, wondering in himself at that which was come to pass.
13 And, behold, two of them went that same day to a village called Emmaus, which was from Jerusalem about threescore furlongs.
14 And they talked together of all these things which had happened.
15 And it came to pass, that, while they communed together and reasoned, Jesus himself drew near, and went with them.
16 But their eyes were holden that they should not know him.
17 And he said unto them, What manner of communications are these that ye have one to another, as ye walk, and are sad?
18 And the one of them, whose name was Cleopas, answering said unto him, Art thou only a stranger in Jerusalem, and hast not known the things which are come to pass there in these days?
19 And he said unto them, What things? And they said unto him, Concerning Jesus of Nazareth, which was a prophet mighty in deed and word before God and all the people:
20 And how the chief priests and our rulers delivered him to be condemned to death, and have crucified him.
21 But we trusted that it had been he which should have redeemed Israel: and beside all this, to day is the third day since these things were done.
22 Yea, and certain women also of our company made us astonished, which were early at the sepulchre;
23 And when they found not his body, they came, saying, that they had also seen a vision of angels, which said that he was alive.
24 And certain of them which were with us went to the sepulchre, and found it even so as the women had said: but him they saw not.
25 Then he said unto them, O fools, and slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken:
26 Ought not Christ to have suffered these things, and to enter into his glory?
27 And beginning at Moses and all the prophets, he expounded unto them in all the scriptures the things concerning himself.
28 And they drew nigh unto the village, whither they went: and he made as though he would have gone further.
29 But they constrained him, saying, Abide with us: for it is toward evening, and the day is far spent. And he went in to tarry with them.
30 And it came to pass, as he sat at meat with them, he took bread, and blessed it, and brake, and gave to them.
31 And their eyes were opened, and they knew him; and he vanished out of their sight.
32 And they said one to another, Did not our heart burn within us, while he talked with us by the way, and while he opened to us the scriptures?
33 And they rose up the same hour, and returned to Jerusalem, and found the eleven gathered together, and them that were with them,
34 Saying, The Lord is risen indeed, and hath appeared to Simon.
35 And they told what things were done in the way, and how he was known of them in breaking of bread.
36 And as they thus spake, Jesus himself stood in the midst of them, and saith unto them, Peace be unto you.
37 But they were terrified and affrighted, and supposed that they had seen a spirit.
38 And he said unto them, Why are ye troubled? and why do thoughts arise in your hearts?
39 Behold my hands and my feet, that it is I myself: handle me, and see; for a spirit hath not flesh and bones, as ye see me have.
40 And when he had thus spoken, he shewed them his hands and his feet.
41 And while they yet believed not for joy, and wondered, he said unto them, Have ye here any meat?
42 And they gave him a piece of a broiled fish, and of an honeycomb.
43 And he took it, and did eat before them.
44 And he said unto them, These are the words which I spake unto you, while I was yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled, which were written in the law of Moses, and in the prophets, and in the psalms, concerning me.
45 Then opened he their understanding, that they might understand the scriptures,
46 And said unto them, Thus it is written, and thus it behooved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day:
47 And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.
48 And ye are witnesses of these things.
49 And, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high.
50 And he led them out as far as to Bethany, and he lifted up his hands, and blessed them.
51 And it came to pass, while he blessed them, he was parted from them, and carried up into heaven.
52 And they worshipped him, and returned to Jerusalem with great joy:
53 And were continually in the temple, praising and blessing God. Amen.

what were any of them doing out of their dwelling on the sabbath? walking miles and miles to emmaus and cooking (fire) broiled fish etc?

Exodus 16
29 See, for that the Lord hath given you the sabbath, therefore he giveth you on the sixth day the bread of two days; abide ye every man in his place, let no man go out of his place on the seventh day.
30 So the people rested on the seventh day.

Interesting the way you highlighted that. Let's try again...

mark 16:9..."Now after He had risen early on the first day of the week, He first appeared to Mary Magdalene, from whom He had cast out seven demons."

So after He had risen, early on the first day of the week He first appeared to... Two different actions described here.

So, if He arose on Sunday as you say, after being crucified on Friday, please show me how to count three days and three nights in the tomb. Either He was in the tomb three days and three nights or He is not the Savior, He is a liar...

Mat 12:39 But he answered and said unto them, An evil and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and there shall no sign be given to it, but the sign of the prophet Jonas:
Mat 12:40 For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale's belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.
'on the first day of the week' is the modifier for 'after he had risen'...this is even more obvious if you look at it in the original greek...

jesus rose early on the first day of the week...then he appeared to mary magdalene...

only you and a few others are having trouble with friday to sunday fulfilling jesus' promise to be in the grave for three days...your point of confusion is in your reliance on your recently invented unbiblical -tradition- that jesus meant 'seventy-two hours'

So, are you saying He wasn't really in the tomb three days and three nights?

by the way, how many hours in a day?

Joh 11:9 Jesus answered, Are there not twelve hours in the day? If any man walk in the day, he stumbleth not, because he seeth the light of this world.
Joh 11:10 But if a man walk in the night, he stumbleth, because there is no light in him.

With 24 hours from sunset to sunset, that leaves about 12 hours for a night also. How many hours are in three days and three nights?

i am saying when jesus said he would be in the tomb for 'three days and three nights'...he didn't mean what you mistakenly -assume- he meant...

jesus didn't say 'seventy-two hours'...he didn't say anything about 'sunset to sunset'...these are all just things you have -assumed- he meant...

unlike you i actually bothered to study the bible to let scripture define for itself how it counts days and nights...you just assumed a bunch of modern timekeeping conventions and tried to force them on the bible...and in the process you have invented a false chronology that blatantly and openly disregards and contradicts and twists scripture...

your misapplication of john 11:9-10 is a perfect example...jesus was urging his disciples to 'walk in the day' so that they would not stumble...he was not telling anyone to get out a stopwatch and time his resurrection...

in fact if you actually were to use a stopwatch on the duration of days and nights...you would find that the daylight time usually is -not- exactly twelve hours long...sometimes it is more and sometimes it is less...and the differences even depend on your latitude...

so your insistence that jesus is describing a timekeeping method here would actually have jesus making a factually inaccurate assertion...now i don't know about you...but most of the rest of us don't believe in a jesus who makes mistakes...

'three days and three nights' according to -biblical- timekeeping can mean anything from just marginally more than twenty-four hours up to seventy-two hours...i have shown from the rest of scripture that it was probably around thirty-six hours in this case...

The Pharisees invented that any part of a day constitutes a day.

They did this and "kept Sabbath" for a part of a day and according to their doctrine they had kept Sabbath....

If we know anything about Yahshua we know He never followed any rabbinical/pharisee law, rather broke them at every chance.

Combine that with the fact that Yahshua followed Yahweh perfectly and consult Yahweh on what constitutes a day and one will find the truth, to me it is beyond foolish to apply a non-Yahweh pharisee day to Messiah resurrection, mind-boggling.

Where is this doctrine even recorded? Or a partial day? That you may show its truth? (I know its origin as I stated, but for illustrating the fact of where did your doctrine come from I ask....)

you are wrong yet again...you seem to be in the habit of posting things that aren't true...

the biblical partial day counting convention has nothing to do with the pharisees...it is the timekeeping convention used by scripture itself...as i proved from acts 10 in my second post in this thread...

The yashua people have a good Bible
a good religion
they almost have the Sabbath but not quite
but this three day thing is silly

you take an antibiotic on friday night
you take one on Sabbath and you take one on Sunday morning

and you go to the emergency room
and the Doctor says

how many days did you take your medicine

and you answer him
THREE

this is foolishness
blinded by the enemy
It does not matter about the three days, it is stupid

Jesus died in the evning on Friday
woke up sunday morning

three days
simple
easy

even a child would say this.

you percieve it has to have three whole days
this is an error.
get over it and go back to your first love.
