Some people are saying it's ok to work at a casino because you get to be a witness to others and some are saying that working at a casino is bad because of gambling and alcoholic drinks. I am telling you that you should talk to God about this. I believe that you should always talked to God before you make a decision. Also, try talking to a Christian friend or a Godly person you are close with. If God is telling you to "Stop Doubting", that's mean He is telling you something. Just think about that. Also, think about the decision carefully. Try asking yourself questions like : "Is it God's will for me to work at a casino? Will working at a casino affect my faith in God? Will working at a casino affect my relationship with God? Will that job affect me spiritually? Will that job open strong temptation to me?" etc. If I was in your place, I wouldn't take the offer because of the gambling and alcoholic drinks. But just think about what I just said to you. Talk to God, talk to a Godly person, and think about what God meant when he said "Stop doubting".

Do you know where those wages are coming from? Not God. That's for sure. Many spouses and children are suffering
because their family member is spending their hard earned money at a casino and leaving their families in poverty.
Gambling leads to addiction. So that money is called blood money. It has caused poverty and death to many families.
King James Bible
Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.
This is just one example of how God will reward obedience. It won't be long before the bible will have no effect on your life because you have been offered the easy way out. The more difficult path would be to trust in the Lord with all your heart and don't lean on your own understanding and he will direct your path. How can you teach your students to believe this if you accept this bribe. Satan is playing you. God is testing you. Wide is the path of destruction but narrow is the path of righteousness. God bless you sister to do His good and perfect will. Amen!
Walmart sells alcohol, condoms, magazines with immodest dressed women, very revealing swimsuits, and for those who hate guns they sell them too. Should one not work in a retail store because they sell items that could lead to addiction and/ or destruction? Should one shop there? As a matter of fact there probably isn't one retail establishment in America or Canada that doesn't sell at least one "stumbling block" that I mentioned.

Jesus fellowshipped with sinners. A pure and perfect man mingled with the ungodly. Was he wrong to do so? Was he encouraging their sins? Or was he looking to help them?

While that family member is spending blood money, she could also be planting the seed of the Gospel to that person. Or should one be self righteous about the whole situation?

Well, here's one way at looking at it - people inside casinos need a witness too.
Oh No! No they don't! We are to be self righteous and separate ourselves from them so we aren't tarnished!

WE are supposed to hold our head high up to God and thank him that we aren't like those gambling drunks! Ain't that what Luke 18:9-14 says?

You are just only selling Food it's not a big issue just be a witness to them and pray for them...actually we are living here in the sinful world standout for Integrity, You are not there to be part of the crowd or blend with the crowd, you are called to Stand Out in the crowd...There is a Purpose why God allowed you to be there. :)

Bad is being jobless. Your mom is the manager and you could look after her business there. If you are too picky, just note how money could be used in a variety of nasty ways that you never would use it to buy your stuff. If you PARTAKE with the "Luck" you mentioned above, be on guard, since luck does not exist: You make your living. :)

Wealth gotten by vanity shall be diminished: but he that gathereth by labour shall increase. - Proverbs 13:11

The issue here is that any money generated by a Casino, is gotten by vanity.
If you feel God wants you to witness to people in this environment, I am sure there are better ways. Perhaps leaving tracts around as a janitor? However, becoming a waitress doesn't seem like a viable idea. Why?

You will be faced with constant temptations, additionally the time will come when you will be faced with "pour alcoholic beverages for our customers" or be fired. Not yet, but with time.

And by working for this company at all you are contributing to it's continued success.

The choice is between you and God with prayer, but I am sure God has a better job for you. Just keep waiting on the Lord and applying for more ethical jobs.

By the way - Remember Courageous the movie? In it one of the movie characters was offered a raise if he would just lie and bribe for the company; if he did not he could be fired. We have to have faith to continue to do the right thing even when the circumstance looks impossible. God will provide.

There is a HUGE difference between a casino and Wal-Mart. The comparison is ridiculous. Wal-Mart also sells Bibles and clothing and food, so there are some redeeming qualities to Wal-Mart. There are absolutely NO redeeming qualities to a casino. The entire industry is based in sin. What good is there in a casino? There is nothing godly about a casino -- no way, no how!

You don't go into bars to witness to drunks, and you don't go into casinos to witness to gamblers. It just doesn't work.

Far too many people have had their lives ruined by gambling for me to ever support such an industry. And working there would, in my opinion, be a tacit endorsement of the industry.

What you say is exactly the opposite of what Jesus did in Luke 18.
It isn't the healthy that needs a doctor.

I guess for Christians living in Las Vegas, there is a lot of sin to avoid, but there is also a lot of employment in restaurants and hotels which might also have a casino. (I'm no gambler myself; but restaurants and hotels in themselves can be a source of employment for Christians to support themselves and their families.)

What if Jesus had done that? he lived with the undesirables he didn't judge them, are you being one of the self righteous people, who looks down on others, because you think you are better then them? how many people inside of a church need someone to witness to them? vs those in a bar or club or casino

Yes .....I worked at a casino in Atlantic city.......I was a loading dock supervisor.....I am a single mother ....the pay was good
The people.I worked with were kind......I was living comfortable....I never was near the casino or bars.....and after working there
I never wanted to gamble.......and never spent my leisure time there......employees are not allowed to gamble .......
And I prayed and asked God for the job and I got it easily.......in fact I did quite a bit of witnessing at work....

According to some in this thread there is no way people in Casinos could be saved, and what you did is impossible in their eyes.
Glad you posted this. MAybe the self righteous can learn a thing or two.

pretty,

in my experience, when our Lord says, 'stop doubting', it mostly means that
I am doubting myself, and not trusting in Him.
these refining tests will never stop for us if we truly love Jesus.

of course we can be a true witness wherever our Lord sends us,
but not a very believable or faithful one if we are doing our own will
instead of His.

Remember Jesus told the priest,s that He didnt come for them......He came for the sinners....I just want to follow His lead...
Even though the job was only for a few years I was surrounded by sinners.....im a sinner....but when the people saw how
I lived and thought they wanted to know how I maintained my peace and love for others.....wham ....I got em...
Opened up all kinds of witnesssing.....so many christians lock themselves in their churches twice a week....
And never getting in the trenches.....we must live in this world not of it....for the people we call friends of course we
should surround ourselves with christians so not to be around temptation.....but i know every job I,ve ever had there werent
many christians......and sin ran rampant.........God puts us were the need is for His
people and His purpose....good luck trying to avoid sinners at where ever you work....or the company you work for....
I just see it as opportunity to do Gods work......

It sounds as if you had quite a ministry working in that casino as God had placed you there for a purpose.

Well OP, if you need the money, then take the job.....and remember to take one day at a time there,,,,,,if you feel uncomfortable there, or feel your integrity or morals are being jeopardized once you are there, then you could always leave.......but maybe , just maybe while you are you could change somebodies life there.....by your testimony or even a word while someone waits for there meal......
