It's a pain to watch tv since I have been saved...I still like my little screen but man...smh...the devil is everywhere on it !!!

So I was wondering...what do you watch ? how do you filter ? Do you even watch tv ? Are there "christian" friendly shows ??

There isn't a whole lot of Christian friendly shows. I'm sure there are some, but i can't think of any right now, off the top of my head, except for Duck Dynasty. And that's.. well... yeah...
I probably don't censor myself as much as i should, but when i see some of the things other Christians watch, i don't feel as bad haha.

haha I don't know about Duck Dynasty... I watch some police things like Criminal Minds, MaryMary and for the rest...it depends if in the flesh or not, but when it's too liberal, too cursing or sexual, I change the channel... If it's honoring the devil, I'm not partaking...
For the simple reason that, I am a young Christian, and I have stumbled a lot when I started to watch secular things on tv...we need to protect our eye gate and ear gate !!
I don't listen to secular music except some soul sometimes...so why watch secular shows? not easy to do though...

I watch shows like Leave It To Beaver, Mr. Ed, and other shows from the 1950s/60s.

Today's shows are such garbage, that I prefer those shows over the ones that are currently being produced.

Gosh where do you get Leave It To Beaver and Mr. Ed today ? It has been years here in U.S.
I would say Mayberry RFD , Andy Griffith ~ Laverne and Shirley ~ (not sure if they are still on)
I guess going to a Channel that shows old shows that were clean and funny would be great,
if we knew where they are. I Love Lucy, comes to mind.

You know though, I have seen some of the older shows and realize.. like.. Lucy, the things
she did were funny at the time, but I now see differently. Deceiving Ricky, lying, etc. Anyone
else ever catch that now that you are Christian ?

Well you definitely won't find them on cable or satellite. We receive our TV shows from local stations. My dad purchased an antenna that gives us that advantage. You should definitely look into it! :)

I love I Love Lucy ,but agree with what you said. I heard that when the show first started, it wasn't accepted by the majority of women. Don't know if that's true or not though

Oh yes, I am with you 100%. Things you didn't pay attention to, that seemed normal when we were lost...But I am glad I see them and I'm not like, oh it's a show, it's ok...No, it's not okay ! It's telling to people there's no problem doing it, oh lying is bad but everybody lies so...deal with it ! like REALLY ??
And let's not talk about the commercial...this commercial, 2 years ago, I would have laughed but instead I was shocked...2 parents finding excuses not to share their ice cream with their son...So it's telling people be selfish and find excuses to be selfish, even with your own kid??? wow... *shaking my head until it flies away*

Ok, sorry folks, but I do watch TV. Favorite show right now, Dancing with The Stars. This season one of the celebrities is Candace Cameron Bure, former star of Full House. She is a devout Christian and has been quite vocal about it. She won't wear the skimpy outfits the other dancers wear because of her faith and said so on the show and has stuck to it.

There is Christian Television, you just have to see what stations your cable or satellite provider offers. If I can get myself up in time I catch Joyce Meyer on TBN, sometimes Joseph Prince. I also like Turning Point. I watched over an hour of Billy Graham the other day. (please don't go off on Billy Graham. I'm just stating what I watch). I'm in So. California and we get I Love Lucy, Little House on the Prairie, Touched By An Angel, Highway to Heaven, The Waltons, JAG, all good shows.

I loved MASH but can't find those reruns. Would also love ER and West Wing reruns if I could find them. I also like House. (several story lines surrounded Dr. House's lack of faith and a patient with deep faith. Opens up discussions. Two of his interns are also Christians). And Big Bang is really funny. Very smart and funny. Especially when Sheldon's mom, a devout, outspoken Christian, steps in. When Sheldon got something he really wanted he got on his knees and said "Thank you almighty deity who's existence I question!!"

Touched By An Angel is more New Age than Christian.

I recommend these Christian YouTube shows:
Wretched Radio (it contains a bit of everything)
Creation Magazine Live (a science show concerning creation and evolution and how the latter isn't a viable belief)

I'm not a big fan of tv. Some tv is okay but personally I find tv boring.
And on top of that there are a lot of shows that are really messed up with all the cussing and sexual things happening in them.
So I find it easier not to watch it.
But I do watch a lot of movies.
There are A LOT of Christian movies. Everything from funny-love-action.
So I'd say if you're looking for something to watch try movies if you're worried about what's on the tv.

There are unfortunately only a few good Christian shows. Most television isn't Godly at all.

But I think that's good actually. Christians should be incredibly active, out living holy lives and bringing others to know the gospel, not spending hours on a couch surfing channels like the rest of the world anyway.

There are a lot of Christian movies? But are any of them any good? I can count maybe two or three and they're about Christ and Martin Luther.

I rarely ever watch tv. When I do it's because my mom has it on all the time and then it distracts me. :/. And I find myself wasting a lot of time. TV is usually a huge waste of time and I believe the enemy uses it to distract us from spending more time with God.

I don't know any christian shows, but I love listening to christian radio and there are a few good christian movies like:
Facing the Giants
Fireproof
God's Not Dead
And I've heard from some that Heaven is Real is good as well though I haven't seen that one personally.

Yeah, you may enjoy those movies but I wouldn't call them 'good' as in artfully-made or even well-made.

I wonder if it's because you're probably more into documentaries then fictional. You come across that way.
