Personally, I think tattoos are unwise, but I don't think the bible says they are inherently sinful.

Seems like you've never considered one, then, faith based or otherwise.

I reckon tattoos today are a bit like double ear piercing 30 years ago: something a lot of people were starting to do, but which became a lot more widespread and done by all ages subsequently.

READ LEVITIVUS 19:28, and you will be shock to see!!!

It also says a few words later about not trimming beards. Do preachers shave?

Is the situation of New Testament believers under grace, exercising Christian liberty as sanctioned by Romans 14, really the same as that of Old Testament Jews in the land under the law?

So, Im only 13 so I can legally get a tattoo therefore I have none. I am just wondering if anybody thinks that getting a tattoo is going against scripture. I am planning on getting a tatto when I turn 18, but I was just wondering.

It is not what we think that matters, it is what God says. We not to be as the heathen. We are commanded not to make cuttings or print images on our skin. I can look up the exact verse and post it later. A transgression of God's law is a sin.
Jesus Christ, nor any of the disciples had tattoos. Tattoos are for life. They are trendy now, but trends come and go. A tattoo will not go away with passing fashion. This decision is ultimately between your wishes and God's statement of the law.
Satan would love for you to get tattooed from head to toe, for satan does the opposite of God in every respect. Nuff for now.

I don't think getting a tattoo is a sin. But I think it is just depends on what it's a tattoo like a skull like Ozzy Osbourne has. If it's like a skull when yes it is a sin.

A lot of Christians do get tattoos, including faith based designs (Bible ref., Christian fish sign <><, etc.) which are often found to be effective in conversation-starting and witness. It's personal thing; and there are different ideas and convictions about them.
