Your statement is very incorrect thinking......Noah and his family was saved by the washing of the WATER by the WORD. Water and Spirit through the mercy of God's grace. All through the OT and all through the NT...water and word.

When did Noah get wet? and what law was he under? God found him righteous purely by faith or show otherwise. God didn't need a boat, man did and He provided it by the cross and not a river.

I am glad that you mentioned Noah, was it not wood that saved him and not just him but all of the animals.

I meant Noah built the boat by Gods instruction and used the wood that God had made. All he did was put 2 and 2 together and at the instruction pf God.

Isn't that how you got saved, what work did you do?

Good point and am glad you brought this up. You are surely right, Noah didn't get wet and you don't understand what water baptism is. What is baptism? It means washing away sin with water by the power of the HS. That was simple. Were the sins of the world washed away from Noah by the power of God? yes. God can baptize any way He chooses don't you agree? And by the way God found him righteous by WORKS (OT) of faith.

But what is your baptism with out the cross. With out the cross it is nothing more than a bath with people watching.

I meant noah and his family escaped wrath by wood. We escape wrath not by water but by wood. He that hath an ear let him hear.

I don't know how to make it any plainer, not wood, but rather water and spirit. Moses, the children of Israel, Noah, the people baptized by John the baptist were all biblically baptized by water and word and so were you I assume and I. Getting wet or not really has nothing to do with whether one looks close up or worlds away from the point of what baptism does.
From God's point of view, Noah was all wet.

God, I pray that the clear message and the truth of your word will enlighten each one of us. You have said that the work we can do to do the works of God is to believe in Jesus, the One you sent. If we partake of Jesus, the bread of life, we will have spiritual life in the same way that physical bread fed the 5000 and feeds us even today. Let everyone who may believe in Jesus, and partake of the Bread of life, and live eternally, Amen.

When did David get wet, Noah had a wooden boat that kept him from getting wet. Israel crossed the Jordan on dry ground. Elijah crossed on dry ground, Elisha crossed on dry ground. Didn't Elisha out run the rain and the kings chariots.

Read I Peter 3:21, I Cor 10:1-4 , and if you take the time to read, there are other scriptures on the subject. No matter how you look at it, God says it plainly, baptism by water and word and has nothing to do with getting wet or not. Baptism cleans the soul from sin.

Brother, I don't mean to be rude. But with out the cross your baptism don't mean spit.

You're not being rude at all, they go hand in hand. The OP says: What does it take to be saved? Is the cross part of "the word?" then water and the word are the answer.

The OP answered with bible and neither water or word is the answer.

You do not get baptised in order to become saved. You get baptised because you are saved. As happened in Acts 2.41

Repentance and faith are hand at hand, and baptism is an act of obedience. As James says, "I will show you my faith by my works." This means that faith, revealed in works wrought from God, shows that man is justified because his faith is genuine and not dead.

Faith alone saves, not a mixture of faith and works. James is being misunderstood.

Repent (turning from sin) and believe (putting one's faith in Christ), and be baptized (faith at work through obedience).
