This is you cutting and running, after being challenged with the NT word of God.
It would not be the devil proving your error, it would be the people of God, as in the following:
StephenLevi said:
The Commandments of Jesus Christ is God's free gift of salvation. . .
Obedience is not a prerequisite to salvation.
IT IS SALVATION.
that is not in agreement with the NT.
Salvation is the forgiveness of sin (Lk 1:77)
through faith in Jesus Christ (Eph 2:8-9),
which gives one a guiltless right standing (
position of righteousness,
justification) before God (Ro 3:24),
which saves one from God's wrath (Ro 5:9)
on one's guilt at the Final Judgment.
The
true faith which saves then
obeys Christ's commands (Mt 22:37-39; 1 Co 9:21; Gal 6:2),
which
fulfill, encompass, accomplish
all the Mosaic law (Mt 22:
40; Ro 13:8, 9, 10);
however, Christ does
not attach a curse for imperfect obedience to
his law,
as was attached to the Mosaic law (Dt 27:26; Gal 3:10),
and from which curse we are
freed under Christ's law (Gal 3:13).
Then the
obedience in the power of the Holy Spirit which results from true faith in Christ Jesus
is the Christian process of sanctification (holiness) which transforms us into the image of Christ.
Saving faith = belief + obedience.
But it is the faith/belief
alone that saves (Eph 2:8-9).
The obedience which
results from true faith does
not in itself save,
for salvation is a
free gift of pure grace (Eph 2:8),
not something
earned by performance (Ro 4:4-5, 1-3; Eph 2:9).
However, since true saving faith obeys, then
where there is no obedience,
we know the
re is no true saving faith and, therefore, one has
not actually been saved.
But it is the faith alone which saves (Eph 2:8), performance does not save (Eph 2:9).
