Crossnote, it is explained, I believe you are the one having a hard time brother. Embrace it and see its fruits. I speak no such a thing to heretical teachings (such as hyper-calvinism, universalism, etc). Search it out with your heart if you really want to know. If it confuses and bugs you, study it!

:)
Been there, bought, wore, washed and threw out the T-shirt. R.B./REC/RSUS/URC/OPC. Those days are gone thx.

When someone disagrees with you,
you shouldn't assume they're just confused.

Not entirely. From crossnote's post he explained that no one can understand it. How is it that I understand it but he doesn't? Does this make me smarter and better? Of course not! I was skeptical before, but I was also confused, I had to understand it thus were I made matured in Christ once I received that blessed doctrines.

But all have sinned but some got special treatment.
I'll leave the impasse there, the same place as I always leave it. There are some things we can't explain and should not try if Scripture gives no answer.
FWI, I can give Arminians a hard time too.

Kerry, do you read commentaries on the bible when you study? Do you read books that talk and discuss the Word of God? If so, say what you say to me to yourself, then what? You will read scripture by itself no? If so, who teaches you what it says along with the Spirit?

I did not say no one can understand Calvinism...that's easy as it turns scripture into mathematical formulas; what I said was "There are some things we can't explain and should not try if Scripture gives no answer."

So please don't do a Redtent and start misquoting me.

Yes, I'm a Lutheran but what has that got to do with anything?

Who is Calvin can he compare to Samuel or Elijah, Any man that say's that you are saved no matter what you do is a liar and a son of Satan.

Luther's Bondage of the Will reads very similarly to the writings of Calvin; indeed, to passages such as Ephesians 2.
