I wish I had some good tips for you...a family member was able to quit after 2 bouts of rehab and some time away from home. Is there any way you can get out of your current environment for an extended period?

A friend who was not aware of how he was related to Christ met the spirit of Christ one morning when he went to church. He was miraculously given the ability to give over his desires to take on what Christ wanted for him.

if you turn to Him, God is powerful to break every chain!!

kicking a drug like meth, a person might get sick for a week or two at first without it, and their mind being a prisoner to it, will do anything to get more, no matter how much determination they have to stop at first.
a good thing is to have a friend willing to persevere with the person who is trying to kick, and to keep them from running back to the dealer when the body is craving it. keep the addict hydrated, eating soup and drinking juice and water. keep the addict away from any opportunity to go back to the drug.
most addictions are replaced with new addictions. become addicted to God, in prayer and studying the scripture. He will become a shield, giving strength to meet temptation.

breaking the hold of a serious drug can be done in a week or two. but a lifestyle needs to change. if a drug is a pitfall to someone, for their own sake they may need to also change their habits, like where they go, and the friends they keep - because the devil will be at the door, ready to tempt a person to return to their chains -- God will give strength to resist temptation, but do not tempt God, or you may find yourself back in the same pit you have crawled out of.

Sure. I've got some experience helping others with addiction problems. First step is admitting you have a problem. The next step is finding the root of the problem, you have to ask why this is happening and develop a timeline. What happened before you struggled with an addiction to crystal meth. What lead up to it, what happened during the time you used it, and what has to happen now and later so that you can be freed from the curse.

A moth in it's final stages inside the cocoon experiences an immense and incredibly difficult battle to emerge from it's warm pod. It fights and battles, and struggles to be freed. Now, I could help it. I could make it easier for the cocoon to open, and the moth would be free. But it would be too weak to survive. Struggle is nature's way of strengthening it.

The same applies to someone such as yourself miss, who is battling an addiction. The tempation is there I'm sure to revert to using it again. And while the short term reward may be satisfying and gratifying to a point, the long term rewards of continuing the struggle are worth much more in the end.

You have to make a decision that you will be faithful to. And you should absolutely pray about it too I think. The best way to kick that habit is by making the conscious choice to not use again, and to be in control of your own life again. When you feel you are weak, ask Christ to glorify the small amount of strength that you have left so that it can be made plentiful through him. Pray for the salvation that he can offer and it surely will be yours if you embrace the Lord and take the first step towards a brighter tomorrow.

I think this reply shows an incredible amount of wisdom.

The Bible outlines the pattern of putting off the old man and putting on the new man.

Many times there are lies that people are believing either about themselves, others, or God and when they operate from that perception they do stupid things and they are open to attacks because of not understanding their identity.

Like 11Eleven says and I agree, get to the root, what caused it beforehand, what lead to it, what are they believing, and what truth does Holy Spirit want to replace it with?

The other day I prayed with a lady and I asked Holy Spirit what lies she was believing and she started crying because of the impact of hearing Him for herself so clearly, so we asked forgiveness, renounced her from the lies, prayed forgiveness for the person, and then Holy Spirit replaced it with so much joy and peace that she was overcome in awe.

It's so radical to see Him work.
