You may read Exodus 20 or what Jesus said and see which one is optional. Advice from anyone else is as valuable as how much you pay for. Well, except tithing I suppose...
Doesn't sound optional...how to go about keeping that rule without being legalistic... that sounds to me like an individual thing, from what I got here... blessings!

I don't understand... I thought we talked earlier about what could be done on the Sabbath was mostly an individual thing... I'll read on, maybe it will become clear in later posts... blessings!
Christ explained it so much better than others can. It is a matter of obeying to the letter, legalistically, or obeying in the spirit.

Christ obeyed perfectly, so He kept the Sabbath as a special holy day He and His Father had set aside for us to rest in. Yet, if someone needed their loving attention on that day, certainly on that special day Christ wouldn't allow them to be in pain or need. One Sabbath, everyone was very hungry, so Christ gathered food. God did not want them to be hungry on the special, set aside day. Another Sabbath, Christ found a man needing healing care, so Christ healed on that day.

So, it was an individual thing, deciding what was needed in love for others on the Sabbath, but it isn't an individual thing that in spirit and truth we are to set aside our own strivings and rely on the Lord's on the Sabbath. So if you were a nurse, and a patient needed care, you would go. If you were a housewife, and you would like to scrub the kitchen floor, you would arrange to do that on one of the other six days, for God asked you to set aside the day He gave you. If the car is in the ditch and your family would have to walk painfully home if you didn't work to get it out, it wouldn't be Godly to say to them "Don't care!". If the car is in the ditch and it could be left another day without harm to anyone, then it would be best to leave it there until the next day that isn't special to the Lord.

THAT is not what the Bible says, sorry:

Hebrews 7:12 (NASB)
[SUP]12 [/SUP]For when the priesthood is changed, of necessity there takes place a change of law also.
You are right! Now. we have to dig into all scripture to find out what the change is. If we say that all the law, everything God has told us about what He has said is completely obsolete, as some are reading another verse in Hebrews, then we are saying that all of God we had pinned our hopes on is gone, we cannot trust scripture any more. Christ said to listen to Moses, so we know it isn't what God told Moses that is changed. In Hebrews it says that it is "becoming" obsolete, not that it is already. We also know that Christ brought out the spirit of the law, and Moses brought out what the law produced in us. We must listen to scripture!

The Sabbath day is done away with in Christ Amen. Those where the laws of righteousness you where a righteous Jew if you kept the Sabbath day. However, the Jews could not keep the Sabbath day holy they kept polluting it. The Sabbath day was a day of rest.

Matthew 11:28] Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
[29] Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.

[30] For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

Amen Jesus became Lord of the Sabbath which means the head of the Sabbath

Luke 6:5] And he said unto them, That the Son of man is Lord also of the sabbath.

Jesus is the head of the Sabbath and today our rest is in his word!!!

Hebrews 4:[8] For if Jesus had given them rest, then would he not afterward have spoken of another day.
[9] There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God.

[10] For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his.
[11] Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief.

Today our rest is in his word, our Pharaoh today is the devil. Those days before Christ where to establish a people a nation and not one other nation around had the same laws as the Jews had to establish a people.

Deuteronomy 7:[6] For thou art an holy people unto the LORD thy God: the LORD thy God hath chosen thee to be a special people unto himself, above all people that are upon the face of the earth.
[7] The LORD did not set his love upon you, nor choose you, because ye were more in number than any people; for ye were the fewest of all people:

[8] But because the LORD loved you, and because he would keep the oath which he had sworn unto your fathers, hath the LORD brought you out with a mighty hand, and redeemed you out of the house of bondmen, from the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt.
[9] Know therefore that the LORD thy God, he is God, the faithful God, which keepeth covenant and mercy with them that love him and keep his commandments to a thousand generations;
[10] And repayeth them that hate him to their face, to destroy them: he will not be slack to him that hateth him, he will repay him to his face.

Jesus is the end of the law of righteousness now it is tables of the heart and no longer on stone!!!

Romans 10: 4] For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth.

2nd Cor 3:7] But if the ministration of death, written and engraven in stones, was glorious, so that the children of Israel could not stedfastly behold the face of Moses for the glory of his countenance; which glory was to be done away:
[8] How shall not the ministration of the spirit be rather glorious?
[9] For if the ministration of condemnation be glory, much more doth the ministration of righteousness exceed in glory.
[10] For even that which was made glorious had no glory in this respect, by reason of the glory that excelleth.
[11] For if that which is done away was glorious, much more that which remaineth is glorious.
[12] Seeing then that we have such hope, we use great plainness of speech:
[13] And not as Moses, which put a vail over his face, that the children of Israel could not stedfastly look to the end of that which is abolished:
[14] But their minds were blinded: for until this day remaineth the same vail untaken away in the reading of the old testament; which vail is done away in Christ.
[15] But even unto this day, when Moses is read, the vail is upon their heart.
[16] Nevertheless when it shall turn to the Lord, the vail shall be taken away.
[17] Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.
[18] But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.

Amen, we are told not to observe days times months and years any more as Christ fulfilled the scriptures

Galatians 4:9] But now, after that ye have known God, or rather are known of God, how turn ye again to the weak and beggarly elements, whereunto ye desire again to be in bondage?
[10] Ye observe days, and months, and times, and years.
[11] I am afraid of you, lest I have bestowed upon you labour in vain.

If man wants to celebrate the Sabbath then they have to do the whole law of Moses without missing a beat including the feasts and banqueting etc.

James 2:[10] For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all.

The ten commandments where a school master leading up to Christ

Galatians 3:[10] For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse: for it is written, Cursed is every one that continueth not in all things which are written in the book of the law to do them.
[11] But that no man is justified by the law in the sight of God, it is evident: for, The just shall live by faith.
[12] And the law is not of faith: but, The man that doeth them shall live in them.
[13] Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree:

[14] That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.
[15] Brethren, I speak after the manner of men; Though it be but a man's covenant, yet if it be confirmed, no man disannulleth, or addeth thereto.
[16] Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to thy seed, which is Christ.
[17] And this I say, that the covenant, that was confirmed before of God in Christ, the law, which was four hundred and thirty years after, cannot disannul, that it should make the promise of none effect.
[18] For if the inheritance be of the law, it is no more of promise: but God gave it to Abraham by promise.
[19] Wherefore then serveth the law? It was added because of transgressions, till the seed should come to whom the promise was made; and it was ordained by angels in the hand of a mediator.
[20] Now a mediator is not a mediator of one, but God is one.
[21] Is the law then against the promises of God? God forbid: for if there had been a law given which could have given life, verily righteousness should have been by the law.
[22] But the scripture hath concluded all under sin, that the promise by faith of Jesus Christ might be given to them that believe.
[23] But before faith came, we were kept under the law, shut up unto the faith which should afterwards be revealed.
[24] Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith.
[25] But after that faith is come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster.

The Sabbath day the Jews had trouble keeping from day one!!! It was a day they could not leave their tents!!!

Exodus 35:2] Six days shall work be done, but on the seventh day there shall be to you an holy day, a sabbath of rest to the LORD: whosoever doeth work therein shall be put to death.
[3] Ye shall kindle no fire throughout your habitations upon the sabbath day.

Exodus 16:[23] And he said unto them, This is that which the LORD hath said, To morrow is the rest of the holy sabbath unto the LORD: bake that which ye will bake to day, and seethe that ye will seethe; and that which remaineth over lay up for you to be kept until the morning.
[24] And they laid it up till the morning, as Moses bade: and it did not stink, neither was there any worm therein.
[25] And Moses said, Eat that to day; for to day is a sabbath unto the LORD: to day ye shall not find it in the field.
[26] Six days ye shall gather it; but on the seventh day, which is the sabbath, in it there shall be none.
[27] And it came to pass, that there went out some of the people on the seventh day for to gather, and they found none.
[28] And the LORD said unto Moses, How long refuse ye to keep my commandments and my laws?

[29] See, for that the LORD hath given you the sabbath, therefore he giveth you on the sixth day the bread of two days; abide ye every man in his place, let no man go out of his place on the seventh day.
[30] So the people rested on the seventh day.

The bible tells us that back in the day man was blessed from polluting the Sabbath!!!

Isaiah 56:2] Blessed is the man that doeth this, and the son of man that layeth hold on it; that keepeth the sabbath from polluting it, and keepeth his hand from doing any evil.

The soph called Christian Sabbath day keeper today pollutes the Sabbath by washing their cars, by visiting the sick and doing all sorts of work instead of being at home in their bed all day. Amen the Jews could not keep this day holy they kept breaking it even before Jesus died when he was on the face of the earth the law of Moses was still in effect!!!

Nehemiah 13:[17] Then I contended with the nobles of Judah, and said unto them, What evil thing is this that ye do, and profane the sabbath day?
[18] Did not your fathers thus, and did not our God bring all this evil upon us, and upon this city? yet ye bring more wrath upon Israel by profaning the sabbath.
[19] And it came to pass, that when the gates of Jerusalem began to be dark before the sabbath, I commanded that the gates should be shut, and charged that they should not be opened till after the sabbath: and some of my servants set I at the gates, that there should no burden be brought in on the sabbath day.
[20] So the merchants and sellers of all kind of ware lodged without Jerusalem once or twice.
[21] Then I testified against them, and said unto them, Why lodge ye about the wall? if ye do so again, I will lay hands on you. From that time forth came they no more on the sabbath.
[22] And I commanded the Levites that they should cleanse themselves, and that they should come and keep the gates, to sanctify the sabbath day. Remember me, O my God, concerning this also, and spare me according to the greatness of thy mercy.

Luke 13:14] And the ruler of the synagogue answered with indignation, because that Jesus had healed on the sabbath day, and said unto the people, There are six days in which men ought to work: in them therefore come and be healed, and not on the sabbath day.
[15] The Lord then answered him, and said, Thou hypocrite, doth not each one of you on the sabbath loose his ox or his ass from the stall, and lead him away to watering?
[16] And ought not this woman, being a daughter of Abraham, whom Satan hath bound, lo, these eighteen years, be loosed from this bond on the sabbath day?
[17] And when he had said these things, all his adversaries were ashamed: and all the people rejoiced for all the glorious things that were done by him.

Amen, the law could not make anything perfect only Jesus the better hope did!!

Hebrews 7:19] For the law made nothing perfect, but the bringing in of a better hope did; by the which we draw nigh unto God.

Romans 8:1] There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

[2] For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.
[3] For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh:
[4] That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
[5] For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit.
[6] For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.

The law could not take away sin, no wonder Christians are calling themselves sinners they are under bondage to the law of sin and death instead of the the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus and free from sin.

Hebrews 10:[1] For the law having a shadow of good things to come, and not the very image of the things, can never with those sacrifices which they offered year by year continually make the comers thereunto perfect.
[2] For then would they not have ceased to be offered? because that the worshippers once purged should have had no more conscience of sins.
[3] But in those sacrifices there is a remembrance again made of sins every year.
[4] For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and of goats should take away sins.
[5] Wherefore when he cometh into the world, he saith, Sacrifice and offering thou wouldest not, but a body hast thou prepared me:
[6] In burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin thou hast had no pleasure.
[7] Then said I, Lo, I come (in the volume of the book it is written of me,) to do thy will, O God.
[8] Above when he said, Sacrifice and offering and burnt offerings and offering for sin thou wouldest not, neither hadst pleasure therein; which are offered by the law;
[9] Then said he, Lo, I come to do thy will, O God. He taketh away the first, that he may establish the second.
[10] By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.
[11] And every priest standeth daily ministering and offering oftentimes the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins:
[12] But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God;
[13] From henceforth expecting till his enemies be made his footstool.

Start reading your bible start reading and obey the bible Amen. Man whose father the devil will have you under bondage of the Sabbath instead of being free!!!

2nd Cor 3:
17] Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.

Yes, the OT gave the defenition. It also gave the result. "cursed is everyone who does not CONFIRM AND OBEY ALL THESE COMMANDS..

Do you even understand what that means?

and I disagree. The ot does not give the defenition. It gives the requirement "do not bare false witness" and the curse to whoever does breaks that requirement The new testament gives the Defenition. bearing false witness comes from carnality, it is done for self. It can not be done out of love, it can only be done for self. If you live your new nature (as found in the law of love) , you do not have to be told "do not bear false witness" you would never even THINK of doing it, It would be against your very nature.

The law is not there for you. It can not tell you how to do it. All it can do is curse you if you do it. (unless your under grace, in which case, it can no longer curse you)

you have two choices. Under law or under grace, you can not be under both., period!
You CAN be under both, period!!! You can not be under law for salvation, Period. You cannot refuse to listen to law through either the written word, or through the leading of the Holy Spirit that gives us understanding and teaches the written word, Period.

"The curse" is death through sin, salvation is life through Christ.

You DO need to be told how to live a life of love, You also need to be told about how to live a life of love as Christ told it. The law itself does not curse you, the curse in when you sin, and cannot obey it perfectly without Christ.

AFTER we are saved, the law shows us how God blesses us when we obey. When we disobey, life brings down such as jail sentences and divorces and we become least in the kingdom of heaven.

Are you saved? If you are, listen to the law. If you aren't, you could study it for a good way to life on earth more successfully, it is just it won't lead to your salvation.

[12] But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God;

Absolutely none of this is Jesus saying that he cancelled what He and His Father said about the Sabbath.

When Christ said "I will give you rest" that was saying we could rest in Him for salvation, not that we need not ever rest from our labors for ourselves one day in the week.

When the Jews followed the Talmud instead of scripture about rest, that was not the correct way to follow it, Christ said so. That is not Christ saying not to rest as scripture (Christ wrote scripture with the Father) tells us to.

The bondage scripture talks of is bondage to sin, the law gives us blessings in this life. It is Christ that gives us salvation, not law, but obedience brings blessings.

Read the 119th psalm, it is scripture!! Read what Christ says in spirit and truth, Christ is scripture. We are not to read it with a spirit that says parts of scripture is wrong, for we have one God speaking in one clear voice.

You CAN be under both, period!!! You can not be under law for salvation, Period. You cannot refuse to listen to law through either the written word, or through the leading of the Holy Spirit that gives us understanding and teaches the written word, Period.

No You can't.

Those are not my words. that is the word of God.

Your argument is with God. Not me.

One cannot be under the law and under grace at the same time .It is either grace or the law so choose.

Was Paul saved and under Grace when he penned Romans?

7:21 I find then A LAW, that when I would do GOOD, EVIL is present with me.

7:23 But, I see ANOTHER law in my MEMBERS warring against the LAW of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the LAW of sin which is in my members.

??????

Hebrews 4:8] For if Jesus had given them rest, then would he not afterward have spoken of another day.
[9] There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God.

[10] For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his.
[11] Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief.

Matthew 11:[28] Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
[29] Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls

You have to kill birds and doves and bullocks because what you are doing is offending the whole law if you offend in one point

James 2:10] For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all.

Everyday is the Sabbath day in Christ Jesus my rest is in his word. Everyday is holy not Sunday or Saturday

1st Peter 1:15] But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation;
[16] Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.

You also have to stay at home not work on the Sabbath day including going to church

Exodus 20:
[10] But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates:
[11] For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.

Jesus is Lord of the Sabbath = The head of the Sabbath the Boss

Matthew 12:[8] For the Son of man is Lord even of the sabbath day.

Jesus did works and cancelled the day of rest he became that rest!! God is resting from his works he gave all power to the Son.

Matthew 28:18] And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.

John 5:[19] Then answered Jesus and said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do: for what things soever he doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise.
[20] For the Father loveth the Son, and sheweth him all things that himself doeth: and he will shew him greater works than these, that ye may marvel.
[21] For as the Father raiseth up the dead, and quickeneth them; even so the Son quickeneth whom he will.
[22] For the Father judgeth no man, but hath committed all judgment unto the Son:
[23] That all men should honour the Son, even as they honour the Father. He that honoureth not the Son honoureth not the Father which hath sent him.

[24] Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.
[25] Verily, verily, I say unto you, The hour is coming, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God: and they that hear shall live.
[26] For as the Father hath life in himself; so hath he given to the Son to have life in himself;
[27] And hath given him authority to execute judgment also, because he is the Son of man.

[28] Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice,
[29] And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation.
[30] I can of mine own self do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and my judgment is just; because I seek not mine own will, but the will of the Father which hath sent me.

1st Cor 11:3] But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God.

God is the head of my Lord = Boss Jesus Christ and Jesus was given all power from his Father. The book of Acts proves that people could not keep the Sabbath day they had to leave their places to a gathering and Paul preached to them as he knew this was the time to preach to them or else Paul and the other people if that was the case we observe the Sabbath day would not be allowed to speak to people they be at home.

Acts 13:[13] Now when Paul and his company loosed from Paphos, they came to Perga in Pamphylia: and John departing from them returned to Jerusalem.

[14] But when they departed from Perga, they came to Antioch in Pisidia, and went into the synagogue on the sabbath day, and sat down.
[15] And after the reading of the law and the prophets the rulers of the synagogue sent unto them, saying, Ye men and brethren, if ye have any word of exhortation for the people, say on.
[16] Then Paul stood up, and beckoning with his hand said, Men of Israel, and ye that fear God, give audience.
[17] The God of this people of Israel chose our fathers, and exalted the people when they dwelt as strangers in the land of Egypt, and with an high arm brought he them out of it.
[18] And about the time of forty years suffered he their manners in the wilderness.
[19] And when he had destroyed seven nations in the land of Chanaan, he divided their land to them by lot.
[20] And after that he gave unto them judges about the space of four hundred and fifty years, until Samuel the prophet.
[21] And afterward they desired a king: and God gave unto them Saul the son of Cis, a man of the tribe of Benjamin, by the space of forty years.
[22] And when he had removed him, he raised up unto them David to be their king; to whom also he gave testimony, and said, I have found David the son of Jesse, a man after mine own heart, which shall fulfil all my will.
[23] Of this man's seed hath God according to his promise raised unto Israel a Saviour, Jesus:
[24] When John had first preached before his coming the baptism of repentance to all the people of Israel.
[25] And as John fulfilled his course, he said, Whom think ye that I am? I am not he. But, behold, there cometh one after me, whose shoes of his feet I am not worthy to loose.
[26] Men and brethren, children of the stock of Abraham, and whosoever among you feareth God, to you is the word of this salvation sent.
[27] For they that dwell at Jerusalem, and their rulers, because they knew him not, nor yet the voices of the prophets which are read every sabbath day, they have fulfilled them in condemning him.
[28] And though they found no cause of death in him, yet desired they Pilate that he should be slain.
[29] And when they had fulfilled all that was written of him, they took him down from the tree, and laid him in a sepulchre.
[30] But God raised him from the dead:
[31] And he was seen many days of them which came up with him from Galilee to Jerusalem, who are his witnesses unto the people.
[32] And we declare unto you glad tidings, how that the promise which was made unto the fathers,
[33] God hath fulfilled the same unto us their children, in that he hath raised up Jesus again; as it is also written in the second psalm, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee.
[34] And as concerning that he raised him up from the dead, now no more to return to corruption, he said on this wise, I will give you the sure mercies of David.
[35] Wherefore he saith also in another psalm, Thou shalt not suffer thine Holy One to see corruption.
[36] For David, after he had served his own generation by the will of God, fell on sleep, and was laid unto his fathers, and saw corruption:
[37] But he, whom God raised again, saw no corruption.
[38] Be it known unto you therefore, men and brethren, that through this man is preached unto you the forgiveness of sins:
[39] And by him all that believe are justified from all things, from which ye could not be justified by the law of Moses.
[40] Beware therefore, lest that come upon you, which is spoken of in the prophets;
[41] Behold, ye despisers, and wonder, and perish: for I work a work in your days, a work which ye shall in no wise believe, though a man declare it unto you.
[42] And when the Jews were gone out of the synagogue, the Gentiles besought that these words might be preached to them the next sabbath.
[43] Now when the congregation was broken up, many of the Jews and religious proselytes followed Paul and Barnabas: who, speaking to them, persuaded them to continue in the grace of God.
[44] And the next sabbath day came almost the whole city together to hear the word of God.
[45] But when the Jews saw the multitudes, they were filled with envy, and spake against those things which were spoken by Paul, contradicting and blaspheming.
[46] Then Paul and Barnabas waxed bold, and said, It was necessary that the word of God should first have been spoken to you: but seeing ye put it from you, and judge yourselves unworthy of everlasting life, lo, we turn to the Gentiles.

Bondage to the law of Moses Sabbath day is done away with in Christ

Galatians 5:[4] Christ is become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are justified by the law; ye are fallen from grace.

Hebrews 4:[1] Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise being left us of entering into his rest, any of you should seem to come short of it.
[3] For we which have believed do enter into rest, as he said, As I have sworn in my wrath, if they shall enter into my rest: although the works were finished from the foundation of the world.[4] For he spake in a certain place of the seventh day on this wise, And God did rest the seventh day from all his works.[5] And in this place again, If they shall enter into my rest
.

I don't observe days or times anymore

Galatians 4:[10] Ye observe days, and months, and times, and years.
[11] I am afraid of you, lest I have bestowed upon you labour in vain.

The Sabbath day was a shadow of things to come

Colossians 2:[16] Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days:
[17] Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ.

Colossians 2:[8] Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.

When man say that Jesus is God they have an Antichrist gospel!!! John 1 says the word was made flesh not God. Capital (W) not capital (G)

JOhn 1:[14] And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
[15] John bare witness of him, and cried, saying, This was he of whom I spake, He that cometh after me is preferred before me: for he was before me.
[16] And of his fulness have all we received, and grace for grace.
[17] For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ.
[18] No man hath seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him.
[19] And this is the record of John, when the Jews sent priests and Levites from Jerusalem to ask him, Who art thou?
[20] And he confessed, and denied not; but confessed, I am not the Christ.
[21] And they asked him, What then? Art thou Elias? And he saith, I am not. Art thou that prophet? And he answered, No.
[22] Then said they unto him, Who art thou? that we may give an answer to them that sent us. What sayest thou of thyself?
[23] He said, I am the voice of one crying in the wilderness, Make straight the way of the Lord, as said the prophet Esaias.
[24] And they which were sent were of the Pharisees.
[25] And they asked him, and said unto him, Why baptizest thou then, if thou be not that Christ, nor Elias, neither that prophet?
[26] John answered them, saying, I baptize with water: but there standeth one among you, whom ye know not;
[27] He it is, who coming after me is preferred before me, whose shoe's latchet I am not worthy to unloose.
[28] These things were done in Bethabara beyond Jordan, where John was baptizing.
[29] The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.
[30] This is he of whom I said, After me cometh a man which is preferred before me: for he was before me.
[31] And I knew him not: but that he should be made manifest to Israel, therefore am I come baptizing with water.
[32] And John bare record, saying, I saw the Spirit descending from heaven like a dove, and it abode upon him.
[33] And I knew him not: but he that sent me to baptize with water, the same said unto me, Upon whom thou shalt see the Spirit descending, and remaining on him, the same is he which baptizeth with the Holy Ghost.
[34] And I saw, and bare record that this is the Son of God.

1st John 2
:22] Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son.
[23] Whosoever denieth the Son, the same hath not the Father:
(but) he that acknowledgeth the Son hath the Father also.
[24] Let that therefore abide in you, which ye have heard from the beginning. If that which ye have heard from the beginning shall remain in you, ye also shall continue in the Son, and in the Father.

And a separation one Father God (President) and one Lord = Boss (Son) Jesus Christ

1st John 5:[9] If we receive the witness of men, the witness of God is greater: for this is the witness of God which he hath testified of his Son.
[10] He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself: he that believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he believeth not the record that God gave of his Son.
[11] And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.
[12] He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.
[13] These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.

God did not send himself he sent his Son

Mark 12:1] And he began to speak unto them by parables. A certain man planted a vineyard, and set an hedge about it, and digged a place for the winefat, and built a tower, and let it out to husbandmen, and went into a far country.
[2] And at the season he sent to the husbandmen a servant, that he might receive from the husbandmen of the fruit of the vineyard.
[3] And they caught him, and beat him, and sent him away empty.
[4] And again he sent unto them another servant; and at him they cast stones, and wounded him in the head, and sent him away shamefully handled.
[5] And again he sent another; and him they killed, and many others; beating some, and killing some.
[6] Having yet therefore one son, his wellbeloved, he sent him also last unto them, saying, They will reverence my son.
[7] But those husbandmen said among themselves, This is the heir; come, let us kill him, and the inheritance shall be ours.
[8] And they took him, and killed him, and cast him out of the vineyard.
[9] What shall therefore the lord of the vineyard do? he will come and destroy the husbandmen, and will give the vineyard unto others.
[10] And have ye not read this scripture; The stone which the builders rejected is become the head of the corner:

John 3:[16] For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

John 3:16 does not say, "For God so loved the world that he sent himself that whosoever believeth in him should not perish but hath everlasting life"

Acts 9:19] And when he had received meat, he was strengthened. Then was Saul certain days with the disciples which were at Damascus.
[20] And straightway he preached Christ in the synagogues, that he is the Son of God.
[21] But all that heard him were amazed, and said; Is not this he that destroyed them which called on this name in Jerusalem, and came hither for that intent, that he might bring them bound unto the chief priests?

Amen, you have a dad on the earth so do I and it is quite clear that Jesus had a God and Father in heaven as well.

Ephesians 1:3] Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:

1st Peter 1:[3] Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,[4] To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you,
[5] Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.

Jesus had to learn by obedience from his Father

Hebrews 5:
] So also Christ glorified not himself to be made an high priest; but he that said unto him, Thou art my Son, to day have I begotten thee.
[6] As he saith also in another place, Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec.
[7] Who in the days of his flesh, when he had offered up prayers and supplications with strong crying and tears unto him that was able to save him from death, and was heard in that he feared;
[8] Though he were a Son, yet learned he obedience by the things which he suffered;
[9] And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him;
[10] Called of God an high priest after the order of Melchisedec.

Hebrews 3:[6] But Christ as a son over his own house; whose house are we, if we hold fast the confidence and the rejoicing of the hope firm unto the end.

Hebrews 2:[9] But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man.

Paul preached that the promises of God comes from the Son

2nd Cor 1:19 For the Son of God, Jesus Christ, who was preached among you by us, even by me and Silvanus and Timotheus, was not yea and nay, but in him was yea.
[20] For all the promises of God in him are yea, and in him Amen, unto the glory of God by us.

Jesus was there from day one with his Father the Son left the throne not God

Genesis 1:26] And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.

Gen 11:6] And the LORD said, Behold, the people is one, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do: and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do.
[7] Go to, let us go down, and there confound their language, that they may not understand one another's speech.

Daniel 3:25] He answered and said, Lo, I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire, and they have no hurt; and the form of the fourth is like the Son of God.

Jesus was there with the Father from day one. The Son was there always

Romans 8:3] For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh:

To feel the need to try to understand the nature of God before following it seems problematic to me, however it would seem that following the Biblical precepts of Christ, Christ's Father or a triune God one couldn't go wrong. This seems like a strange answer, but to me the question is strange. How about reading our Bible?

What about just beleiving in Jesus blood as atonement? Reconciling us to God, the Father? Sending His Spirit to teach us to follow Him?

He said resting on Sabbath is to honor Him because He created the world in six days.

Well, yes... that's why I asked about the car towing... sounds like how the resting is done is an individual thing... blessings!

The hard fact is, his followers and even the high priest, the Pharisees and the scribes did not have the authority to judge like they used to in "OT" anymore. All of them were under the rule of the Roman Empire - the reason they needed Pilate to condemn and the Roman soldiers to execute the Innocent One.

I think they still had the authority... maybe not always the power... they managed to stone Stephen, I think... they were following the law about killing those who teach other gods... they thought... so the law of love makes some changes to moses here and there

True worship that glorifies God is to listen to what God says humbly and follow Him. The most important, says scripture, is to love God with all our heart, soul and mind, and others as ourselves.

As far as the Sabbath, to follow Him is to do our work on six days and rest from our work on the seventh, for that has been declared holy. When we listen, that is what scripture says.
Very true... how we rest is mostly up to each person, I'm understanding...

No You can't.

Those are not my words. that is the word of God.

Your argument is with God. Not me.
So, according to you the word of God is that because God gives us grace, we are not to listen to law!!

I listen to the word, and the word tells me that disobedience to law kills, but through Christ I can be forgiven. Another way that scripture says that is "you are not under law".

According to you, that would mean that every word that we are given as God's instructions in scripture is not to be listened to because we are under grace for salvation not law! Another interpretation of the original word for law is instructions.

The secular meaning of the word for law is a sort of order to obey this or go to jail. In scripture it means obey this and I will bless you. Your teachings are saying you do not believe in being blessed by God, because "you are not under law".

Your argument is with God!!!!!! I'd like you to not teach others what isn't of God.

I think the bottom line is that we need to follow scripture. God is eternal, God principles never change, and as Christ told us, He did not change anything.

When we read in the letters how there was "change", we need to read that in spirit and truth. We have a high priest. There was a high priest that Moses told us of, and the functions of a high priest never changed. If we read about a high priest in the time of Moses, and we read of our high priest today, they are both the high priest with many of the same functions. Christ is our high priest. That is the only change.

When you read of the functions of the Sabbath at creation, and you read of the functions of the Sabbath when Christ plucked grain and healed on the Sabbath, it is all the same from our eternal God. Christ made it clear.

The Old Testament was written in Hebrew, using the Hebrew people to explain God. They were an emotional people who had no words for their emotions, but when they felt something they thought of the acts that emotion would bring about. Loving the Lord brought actions of love for the Lord. When a new kind of thinking entered, it had to be explained to us that an emotion needed action to be authentic, that faith without works is dead. That direction would never be needed before the Greeks influenced thinking, for action and feeling was ingrained in their way of thinking.

So we say that the actions spoken of in the Old Testament are without meaning. And when Jews advanced to become Greek thinkers, some of them DID use actions alone.

These things happening in the world did not change God. God's thoughts are above our thoughts. We need to put on Christ (who is one with the Father) through the Holy Spirit we have been given, and rise above these worldly, fleshly interpretations of God principles.

I'll say a big amen to the rise above part... :-)

Back in that day kindling a fire was a dirty job, and God wants us clean before Him. So maybe an our-day analogy would be don't sweep the chimney before church. Jesus didn't put an end to the law, just how it is paid for. God still wants us clean before Him, we just do that now thru Christ and not a slain cow.
I think that would mean then don't tow th e car out of the ditch on Sabbath

So, according to you the word of God is that because God gives us grace, we are not to listen to law!!

No. The law shows us grace. because we are unable to keep it.

Why do you like to twist everything everyone says. is that all you have??

I listen to the word, and the word tells me that disobedience to law kills, but through Christ I can be forgiven. Another way that scripture says that is "you are not under law".

Then why are you following law? you admit it kills. It can not show you how to be righteous? Why not follow the law of love? Which can show you not only how to live Christlike, But to not worry about some law which can kill you.
According to you, that would mean that every word that we are given as God's instructions in scripture is not to be listened to because we are under grace for salvation not law! Another interpretation of the original word for law is instructions.

Lol if it were not for the law. I would not know sin, And I could never experience grace. You say I ignore. it And you keep making yourself a liar I do not ignore it. or declare it not of God. I admit what it was GIVEN FOR. It did its job in my life.

Your problem is you do not know the meaning of the law. If you did, you would not argue so strongly like the jews to try to insert the law into the church. And we could talk about how a person grows in faith in Christ. Not by the law. But by faith.

The secular meaning of the word for law is a sort of order to obey this or go to jail. In scripture it means obey this and I will bless you. Your teachings are saying you do not believe in being blessed by God, because "you are not under law".

oh wow. So we should listen to you teach things which are not from God?

Actually the word torah means word. When the word was used, it meant the complete canaan of scripture. at that time, not just the mosaic rules given by God on Sinai.

Why did you completely ignore the fact that even Jesus said the law could not show you how to be righteous. By showing you the true meaning which can not be found in the law?

I guess that means nothing to you. You want to hold people under slavery to the law. And reject the freeom we have been givenin Christ. Not a freedom to sin. A freedom to understand what God really wants from us. That is for us to deny self. Love others. This can not be found in the law If it could God would not have had to come. because we would all know how to be righteous.

If the law really was not based on love, then scripture is telling us something that is incorrect. I so wish I could get you to see that God is love, and scripture expresses that!! You say this "can not be found in the law", and scripture says it can.

Scripture is of God and God is love. Moses didn't say to hate, Moses told of actions that express love. Christ told of the spirit to use with those actions to express love. When you speak so against all of this, you are speaking against Christ.

Tent I hope you can see that the law was not given in love. The law was given to expose, and Identified sin. That means that the law condemns you and provides no reconciliation. Look, in the wilderness they had grace, The Holy Spirit was with them in the form of a cloud by a day and a pillar of fire by night and when He moved they moved. They feed every morning and it lasted all day. But, because of their rebellion, God gave them the law and some 3,000 people died on that day.

When Peter preached the Gospel on the day of Pentecost some 3,000 got saved and filled with the Spirit. The law is not your friend it is your condemner.
