Cobus all that is being said to you is this. Your approach and how you word things is very misleading and very confusing at times. You seem to have a mix of what you want to say and what you say and that in itself causes confusion.
We all can quote scripture and can all understand albeit at different levels I'm sure but your understanding is no more God inspired than any other. You seek God as do others. You interpret as do others how are you always right and never ever wrong that is a scary thought.
You have made statements that are in correct and you have gotten off track in several post and I still love you. But! You are not the sole authority on the bible. My relationship and my understanding are gifts God has refined over the years and I see all sorts of teaching that you have distorted. Taking the word out of context to prove a point is pointless.
I have studied for more than 20 years bible topics and dove deep in Gods word and to this day I am still learning. I always wanted to be a preacher since I was a boy that is what I lived for. I have seen God move in his word and I know more than I share because I have to be wise with the word. But I do share and I am obedient. You seem to know a great deal about bible stuff but it has to be agreeable with the body to reach people. You quote all the scripture to prove points but you miss the Spirit of the very words you often share You make a lot of sense then you say something that is wayyyyyyyy of track that may be a cultural thing or how to express yourself I don't know.
But either way you have to be willing to except that you don't know it all and sometimes you are flat out wrong! We all are guilty. And quoting scripture will never erase our wrong understanding until we renew our thinking! We all can learn to agree with the word but I don't sign off on scripture just because its scripture it still has to be applied correctly and in the proper context to receive the fullness of that word. The scripture tells us some are ever learning yet never able to come into the knowledge of the truth!
I guess that is because of the leaning to our own understanding and unrenowned thinking! Here is what I am saying to you with scripture reference highlighted for clarity and in context.
2 Timothy 3
King James Version (KJV)
3 This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.
[SUP]2 [/SUP]For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,
[SUP]3 [/SUP]Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,
[SUP]4 [/SUP]Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;
[SUP]5[/SUP]Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.
[SUP]6 [/SUP]For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts,
[SUP]7[/SUP]Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.
[SUP]8 [/SUP]Now as Jannes and Jambres withstood Moses, so do these also resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, reprobate concerning the faith.
[SUP]9 [/SUP]But they shall proceed no further: for their folly shall be manifest unto all men, as their's also was.
[SUP]10 [/SUP]But thou hast fully known my doctrine, manner of life, purpose, faith, longsuffering, charity, patience,
[SUP]11 [/SUP]Persecutions, afflictions, which came unto me at Antioch, at Iconium, at Lystra; what persecutions I endured: but out of them all the Lord delivered me.
[SUP]12 [/SUP]Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.
[SUP]13 [/SUP]But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived.
[SUP]14 [/SUP]But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them;
[SUP]15 [/SUP]And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.
[SUP]16 [/SUP]All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
[SUP]17 [/SUP]That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.
Amen!
