I'm sure it was me. I have trolled incessantly for some time now.

p.s. I am the batman. I was told this many years ago.
Yep, me to, BatWire. I just haven't been in a typetive mood lately. The quietness in this forum got me down a little, so I stopped contributing myself. Thanks for starting this thread, MissCris.

Is MissCris the most talkative one in this forum? I've already seen a few threads from her. :D

I think the singles forum would do well as long as 'some people' don't bring their mush in here. :p

So...I kinda feel like I've just been group-hugged here. Which is awesome. Y'all made me smile a lot and cry a little. Why does that happen, when someone is all down, and they get shown kindness, and the water works start? Stupid emotions...

Really though, what you guys have said has helped.

I was pretty upset about what that person said...not so much because it was a crappy thing to say, but because I'd already been wondering if that's how people saw my posts. I feel like I can't shut up on here...seriously weird for me. And sometimes I get that feeling, like...Why am I bothering these poor people with this junk? And I usually stew about it for a couple hours, get over it, and come back to post more. Just...in my mind, this person was confirming something I already feared.

I have this weird struggle I go through- I want to be paid attention to, and people pay attention to me, and then I'm embarrassed about the attention I get.
When I was little, I had no such qualms; I was a camera hog, and I danced and sang all over the place. And then I started finding out people were bothered by that, that it made them feel bad that others were laughing and smiling and encouraging me to keep it up. My sister was big on pointing out my attention seeking personality. A lot of people were. That...I dunno, I didn't do it to hurt anybody, I just liked that people were happy and that I could make them that way with a song or a silly face or a goofy story. I never really got why that bothered anyone...so I could entertain people...so what? I'm the first to point out all the things I CAN'T do that others are awesome at. So that's one of my silly insecurities; when I do start using the few gifts God gave me, I always worry someone else is going to feel diminished by that and feel hurt.

I seriously just forgot why I'm even droning on about this.

Oh! The point- so, the words that were written to me...it's crazy how people who barely know us can so easily pick up on our sore spots and know exactly how to make them hurt worse. I'm annoyed that I let it happen. But I'm glad you've all been so understanding and even protective. I hope you guys know that even with my head being screwed on backwards...or sometimes not even attached...I love y'all and would do the same for you.

So now I feel all awkward, which is becoming the norm for me...um...right, I'm gonna try and catch and remove some moths.

Once again, we have something in common. I didn't get why people would shush me or tell me I was stupid or tell me I needed to keep to myself. Most kids seek out positive reinforcement because it feels good and their tiny brains need it. Our adult brains need it too. There's a whole host of scriptures that say so, and if you're interested, I'll PM you. :)

Tell you what! How about you work on being comfy with you, and I'll work on being comfy with me? We'll both be happier, we'll be the creatures God made us to be, and we'll be extra awesome. Whadda say?

I wanna cupcake tooooooooooooooo!

Amen about those scriptures, sister. According to the Bible, we really are special. Very special. Here is something that really picked me up out of the dust and set me on the mountain real fast;

"For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God"
-Romans 8:14

We are the very sons and daughters of God Himself! Joint heirs with Jesus!

Hey Cristen,

I was thinking of this thread and wanted to tell you another example of how a person just can't win!

There was a thread a while back about who our favorite Biblical characters were and I happened to write that one of mine was Joseph (Jacob's son who was sold into slavery and later on, prison.)

A male poster replied, "Yeah, that's because you're a gold digger." I was like, "WHAT????" This person said I must only like and go after rich men. PUL-LEASE. Anyone who's read any number of my posts will know I've spent my entire time in relationships supporting men financially, which is one of the reasons I'm not in a relationship.

The reason Joseph is one of my favorite Biblical characters is because he started out at the top but was thrown into the most humbling of circumstances without becoming bitter. This really stands out to me because, of course, that's a hallmark of most people I've talked to who are in prison--they are, sometimes understandably, extremely bitter at everyone and everything and won't let go. The other thing I love about Joseph is that even while he was in the position of being a servant, when a rich, powerful woman repeatedly tried to throw herself at him, he kept refusing, saying, "How can I sin against God?" Wow!!!! Dream man, for sure!! I would have preferred to marry him as a servant--I have no interest in marrying a public figure because I hate the public eye. Inconsiderate feedback here in the forums is bad enough for me, let alone an entire country or the world.

Anyway, the guy on CC who told me I was a gold digger knew nothing about me and didn't bother to read anything about me either. He was just an angry, bitter person who apparently had been used by women for money. So, after he posted a couple of really insulting threads directed towards me and wouldn't listen to anything I had to say, I started writing threads.

I wrote two threads in response to his accusations, one of which was titled, "Now I Ain't Sayin' She's a Gold Digga..." (this is the only time I'd ever thank Kanye West for any idea) because the song was popular at the time. The theme of the thread was, "How do you identify a gold digger? Have you ever dated one? And how did you get out of a gold digger's trap?" etc.

I didn't mention the person by name, just that the inspiration for the thread was being called a gold digger by someone in the forums, and that I was interested in hearing about other's experiences with "gold digging." It wound up being a really interesting thread and the gracious CC posters with a sense of humor made it a lot of fun, as well as informative.

Just another example of how we can sometimes never win, but I think you'll agree that the majority of people here are wonderful, and far outweigh the bad, which is why I don't give up altogether. I'm sorry to derail your thread... I just wanted to encourage EVERYONE out there who's had someone say something insensitive to them here to please not take it to heart, and, if you feel inspired, use it as an idea for a positive discussion instead! :)

You're not derailing :) Anyway, unless it's a super serious topic, even derailments are at least discussion, so no biggie.

Oops, wanted to make a correction... the guy who called me a gold digger wrote posts directed at me, not threads... sorry for not clarifying that. (He's not here anymore, at least not under the name he was using.)

But, curiously enough... when I did write my threads about gold digging...

He never once replied or posted... You know, kind of like how the person who insulted you isn't coming forward or showing us all how to supposedly write better threads either. Plenty of people want to tell us we suck at something... but... funny thing... They don't show us how to do it the supposed better way, either. Kind of like the Pharisees... Always having something to say but never lifting a finger to help. Anyway... (Sorry for the tangent. I get that way when someone insults a friend of mine.)

Keep your chin up, girl! We love you. *hugs*

Criss, there will always be people who push you up and those who pull you down. No matter what you do/say, there will be someone who is "offended" by it. That only means one thing - you are a CELEBRITY.

So take out your celebrity wear and do the celebrity walk! :D

(P.S.: on a serious note, you have a lot of wonderful people here who have stood up for you. Don't lose the lighter side of life for such trivial things.)

There's always that one person willing and wanting to 'confirm' your fears about yourself. This is where learning to spot that type of person and discern them for who and what they really are, comes in handy.
Besides, you should know by now, if you were being like that i'd tell you myself. ;)

Singles unite! Down with the cynicism!
If the singles unite, will they still be single or will they be some sort of collective creature like a sponge (Sponges are cool, look it up).

I haven't been here as much lately, possibly because I'm taking guitar lessons and practice a lot. I've played "at it" since I was 13, but I want to be able to read music, and play correctly. Hopefully get in a band when I'm good enough. Not to try to "make it". Just for fun.

And yes, I've found some of the original Zorro movies, been watching them too. lol
