I know there r some similarities between those two but are those connected?

I don't think so. I know that the Masons and Shriner are connected somehow, though.

I dont know how Masons and Shriners are connected, either. My dad is a Shriner. They do Toys for Tots motorcycle rides here in Vermont every year, and collect the toys that people have left for them on the Vermont state house lawn. They then distribute the toys to different Shriner's children's hospitals around the country. They dress up like clowns and participate in parades. To help gather money for the children's hospitals, one thing they do is collect soda can pull-tabs. They get so much $$ per pound and that in turn, is donated to the hospitals. As for a rotary club, I've heard of them but know nothing about what they are or what they do.

It's what I've been told along time ago, by someone who I think was a Mason. I think I'll have to go and do some research on that though.

No they are not the same thing. Most people don't even know what the Masonic Lodge is. It is mostly speculation.

No, they're very different. Rotary clubs have no nefarious spiritual practices or beliefs. It's just a club of people helping out their community using their collective skills and talents and time.

Now days they pretty much are the same. Freemasons don't practice esotericism anymore, they just organize services for their community like the Rotary Club and the Kiwanis.

To be fair neither do masons...

One must be the highest order of freemason to become a shriner (Be A Shriner Now). Although the masons and especially the shriners are active doing "good works", they are ultimately deceived into or actively blaspheming the Holy Name of God. How? Do some studying... Find out who the freemasons worship or see as "god", learn about this syncretistic god of theirs. Learn about this "phallic cult" and see how depraved and distorted it's secret ways are...

dave, click on the link above in violacat's reply. Not all Masons are Shriners, and not all Shriners are Masons. My dad is only a Shriner. I agree with ToMegaTherion. For the most part, Masons organize community services such as barbeques, lobster bakes (which is all the Masons, Shriners, and their friends and family attending a barbecue style seafood buffet, and contributing to organizations such as the children's hospitals mentioned in my OP. I'm sure they do other things as well, but then maybe that's only what the Masons and Shriner's do here in Vermont. Each state may do something different. :)

blue_ladybug, my family is riddled with fm's (to the 33rd order), with devastating effects, I have researched them and addressed the sin of fm in my family line since 1982. Granted they were also Rosicrucians.

My social fraternity in undergraduate university used the 1st order fm initiation in their secret initiation into the fraternity.

If you click on the tab "Be A Shriner Now", which is THEIR website, you will get the initiation process straight from the shriners' mouths...

I read the webpage that violacat posted. In it there is some confusion when they speak of a 3rd (and final) order fm being able to then become a shriner. There are two main ways "up" the levels in fm, and one has only 3 levels, the other has 32 levels (scottish rite), herein they are referring to the york rite, I believe. Some say the fms and shriners are innocuous "boys clubs". IMO, they are FAR from that and NO discerning Christian man (or woman: see eastern star & female order of fms) can enter into the secret rites/curses without reaping tremendous condemnation upon themselves. Do not look to what they do in the light (ex./ BBQ's and hospital benevolence) look to what they hide in the darkness...

fms have no idea at the lower levels of the scottish rite what they are "buying into", it is purposely kept from them, ask Albert Pike lays out clearly in his exhaustive history of fm: "Morals & Dogma". The rituals that are secretly committed to by each initiate are filled with curses and oaths that no self-respecting and discerning Christian can assent. This is not at all like Rotarians or the Lions Clubs! fm comes out of babylonian mystery religions and Judeao-Christian syncretism, be wise, study well and beware! Not all fms have a clue as to what is going on as a form of ritualistic "worship" at the highest levels of the scottish rite, but this doesn't matter because they wittingly allow themselves to take oaths all through the rites that curse themselves and their families. These secret rites have been exposed by previous fms and I have personally gone through and renounced the 1st rite. I have and am now again confessing and also renouncing the unGodly oaths and curses my ancestors came under and exposed me to and I declare that I am free from all this hubris and depravity (it is a phallic cult, imo), through the power of my Risen Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ of Nazareth!

swearing an oath and believing in a supreme being; when we're not told to swear oaths; and if the supreme being bit aint ringing bells. then nothing will.

Per my brief research into Rotary Club it doesn't seem they are related which is good - just a humanitarian effort. A few people had commented online saying that there were some masons in their clubs however, so something to make note of.

And FYI: Freemasons = Shiners.

Ancient Order of the Noble Mystic Shrine.... Other wise known as M.A.S.O.N. 's, Freemasons, and the 33 degree none as plane SHINERS...... Anything you see with "Order' in the organization is part of it........ i.e.... Order of the Elk, moose, lions club, Eagles, rotary, order of the arrow, .....all part of the 'beast' system....... Also referred by Jesus in Matthew 21:42 " have you never read, the stone the builders (M.A.S.O.N.) rejected has become the Chief cornerstone"....Also referred to as the Illuminati........
