Nothing! We never go there...

Joh 13:33 Little children, yet a little while I am with you. Ye shall seek me: and as I said unto the Jews, Whither I go, ye cannot come; so now I say to you.

Christ returns to earth, rules for 1000 years, then the New Jerusalem comes down from heaven to earth and the Father comes down and lives with here with us. God comes here, we never go there.

I Googled the topic, and came across this. And I, being an astronomy nut, would love if this were the case. I would like to hear what you think we will be doing in Heaven. Either way, whatever God has in store for us for eternity will be magnificent beyond our wildest dreams:

"We aren't told what would have resulted had Adam been obedient, but he was the steward of the entire planet and potentially beyond. What responsibility will be given us in eternity? Scripture only reveals that "His servants shall serve Him" (Revelation 22:3) in heaven and that he who has been "faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things" (Matthew 25:23). Astronomers now know the universe teems with billions of beautiful galaxies never before seen, and we wonder why God even created them. Never before have humans even known of them. There are many more galaxies than there are people who have ever been born. What is their purpose, and what is their future? Let me speculate.
In a marvelous passage on the glories of heaven we are told that we are already seated in "heavenly places" (Ephesians 2:6) positionally declared righteous in His eyes, and able to receive His favor and participate in His plan for the ages. Might this also have a physical meaning?
Has God created this immense universe as our "Garden" for eternity? Will we have access to the stars? The same passage teaches that "in the ages to come He might show the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness toward us through Christ Jesus" (v.7). Perhaps He will assign a galaxy to each of us, with the rewarding work of developing it for His glory. We will always be welcome in His omnipresence, experiencing fellowship unbroken by sin or distance. But maybe He will expect an occasional progress report on our galaxy. Just as Adam was to "tend" the Garden, we may have the privilege of exploring and showcasing His stellar handiwork and visiting the "gardens" of others, all the while fellowshipping with Him and giving Him credit for His creative majesty. We will have an eternity of time to explore seemingly infinite space, giving glory to Him in all, and pleasing Him with faithful service. At any rate, we can dream."
Since I don't believe that the Scriptures teach that people go to Heaven I would have to answer nothing.

Okey! But why does space expands and keeps that on?

He made it to isolate people in one single place? Is He blind to see we (humans) longs to explore outer space, waters and caves unearthed as well?

I'm positive He will let us fly same way PETE walked on the waters. :)

however i don't know how love would be felt or expressed. I'm puzzled (or stuck) there! :(

The greatest delight is to behold His glory and see His face! He is my treasure! To glorify and serve Him before His throne would be to die for!

"Whom have I in heaven but You? And besides You, I desire nothing on earth. My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever."

Psalm 73:25-26 NASB

John 14:3
If I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself, that where I am, there you may be also.

John, where did Jesus go to prepare a place for you? And what does he say, "there you may be also".

“Do not let your heart be troubled; believe in God, believe also in Me. [SUP]2 [/SUP]In My Father’s house are many dwelling places; if it were not so, I would have told you; for I go to prepare a place for you. [SUP]3 [/SUP]If I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself, that where I am, there you may be also. [SUP]4 [/SUP]And you know the way where I am going.” [SUP]5 [/SUP]Thomas *said to Him, “Lord, we do not know where You are going, how do we know the way?” [SUP]6 [/SUP]Jesus *said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me.

You do not suppose that we will all be staying over at the New (Earthly/Stone) Temple in Jerusalem, do you?

No, He is talking about heaven.

Hebrews 11:13-16
[SUP]13 [/SUP]All these died in faith, without receiving the promises, but having seen them and having welcomed them from a distance, and having confessed that they were strangers and exiles on the earth. [SUP]14 [/SUP]For those who say such things make it clear that they are seeking a country of their own. [SUP]15 [/SUP]And indeed if they had been thinking of that country from which they went out, they would have had opportunity to return. [SUP]16 [/SUP]But as it is, they desire a better country, that is, a heavenly one. Therefore God is not ashamed to be called their God; for He has prepared a city for them.

We will go to heaven (or someplace else) pending our judgment. And those who have accepted Jesus Christ will have Him as their "representative" - that's the only way we get in.

I just remembered to come back and check this thread, thanks for all of the perspectives, I thought some were pretty interesting! I want to explore the universe so anything having to do with that would be great, of course I would want to fly with Jesus and allow Him to be my tour guide =)

Neither of these passages says anyone goes to Heaven. A quick check of the Scriptures will reveal that "My Father's house" is a reference to the temple. Notice in the passage Jesus said He would come back for them that "where I am" they could also be.

Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, were not expecting to go to Heaven. The country they were waiting for was the promised land that God had promised Abraham as an "everlasting" possession.

8 By faith Abraham, when he was called to go out into a place which he should after receive for an inheritance, obeyed; and he went out, not knowing whither he went.
9 By faith he sojourned in the land of promise, as in a strange country, dwelling in tabernacles with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise: (Heb 11:8-9 KJV)

The 17th Chapter of John is pretty clear on this..............worth reading...........God is not/does not dwell in the Temple. He is in Heaven on His Throne..........goodness..........The Earthy temple has passed.......the temple today where the Holy Spirit dwells is our hearts........goodness........

Jesus made it clear that there IS a Heaven, and that one day we will go there to be with Him as He is with the Father......

goodness.........sigh........

different covenant, different time...............goodness............just HOW MANY mansions do you suppose could be fit into an earthy temple?

Didn't say humans would never go into space or to other galaxies or planets, I said they never go to the place we call heaven that contains God's throne. After the Millennium and Great White Throne Judgment, that throne and the Father Himself come to earth...

Rev 21:1 And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.
Rev 21:2 And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.
Rev 21:3 And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God.
Rev 21:4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.

The book doesn't say exactly what we do after this but there are a few hints...

Isa 45:18 For thus saith the LORD that created the heavens; God himself that formed the earth and made it; he hath established it, he created it not in vain, he formed it to be inhabited: I am the LORD; and there is none else.

Rom 8:19 For the earnest expectation of the creation eagerly waits for the revealing of the sons of God.
Rom 8:20 For the creation was subjected to futility, not willingly, but because of Him who subjected it in hope;
Rom 8:21 because the creation itself also will be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God.
Rom 8:22 For we know that the whole creation groans and labors with birth pangs together until now. - NKJV

So thinking about the WHOLE creation...

Heb 2:5 For He has not put the world to come, of which we speak, in subjection to angels.
Heb 2:6 But one testified in a certain place, saying: "WHAT IS MAN THAT YOU ARE MINDFUL OF HIM, OR THE SON OF MAN THAT YOU TAKE CARE OF HIM?
Heb 2:7 YOU HAVE MADE HIM A LITTLE LOWER THAN THE ANGELS; YOU HAVE CROWNED HIM WITH GLORY AND HONOR, AND SET HIM OVER THE WORKS OF YOUR HANDS.
Heb 2:8 YOU HAVE PUT ALL THINGS IN SUBJECTION UNDER HIS FEET." For in that He put all in subjection under him, He left nothing that is not put under him. But now we do not yet see all things put under him. - NKJV

Read verse 8 carefully. Not yet.

What might we be doing for eternity? There are an awful lot of galaxies out there that contain an awful lot of solar systems that contain an awful lot of planets. Now God says this of His Kingdom...

Isa 9:7 Of the increase of His government and peace There will be no end, Upon the throne of David and over His kingdom, To order it and establish it with judgment and justice From that time forward, even forever. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this.

Use some imagination here.

You quoted it yourself...

Joh 14:3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.

He comes back to the earth.

Joh 14:28 Ye have heard how I said unto you, I go away, and come again unto you. If ye loved me, ye would rejoice, because I said, I go unto the Father: for my Father is greater than I.

And they what?

Heb 11:13 These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off, and were persuaded of them, and embraced them, and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth.

When do they?

Heb 11:39 And these all, having obtained a good report through faith, received not the promise:
Heb 11:40 God having provided some better thing for us, that they without us should not be made perfect.

When we do and when is that?

1Co 15:51 Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,
1Co 15:52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
1Co 15:53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.
1Co 15:54 So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.
1Co 15:55 O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?

At the resurrection at Christ's return...

1Co 15:22 For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.
1Co 15:23 But every man in his own order: Christ the firstfruits; afterward they that are Christ's at his coming.

1Th 4:16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
1Th 4:17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

At the last trump. What will we do?

Rev 20:4 And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.

Zec 14:4 And his feet shall stand in that day upon the mount of Olives, which is before Jerusalem on the east, and the mount of Olives shall cleave in the midst thereof toward the east and toward the west, and there shall be a very great valley; and half of the mountain shall remove toward the north, and half of it toward the south.

Rev 3:21 To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne.

Rev 5:10 And hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth.

His throne will be on earth and that is where we will be.

Yes, Jesus will return one day.......and He will gather to Him His children and they shall be with Him in Heaven for all eternity.

John 17:20) Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word;
21 .) That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me.
22 .) And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one:
23 .) I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me.
24 .) Father, I will that they also, whom thou hast given me, be with me where I am; that they may behold my glory, which thou hast given me: for thou lovedst me before the foundation of the world.
25 .) O righteous Father, the world hath not known thee: but I have known thee, and these have known that thou hast sent me.
26 .) And I have declared unto them thy name, and will declare it: that the love wherewith thou hast loved me may be in them, and I in them.

Matthew 25:31) When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory:
32 .) And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats:
33 .) And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left.
34 .) Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:

1st Corinthians 15:47) The first man is of the earth, earthy: the second man is the Lord from heaven.
48 .) As is the earthy, such are they also that are earthy: and as is the heavenly, such are they also that are heavenly.
49 .) And as we have borne the image of the earthy, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly.
50 .) Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption.
51 .) Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,
52 .) In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
53 .) For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.
54 .) So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.
55 .) O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?
56 .) The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law.
57 .) But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
58 .) Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.
