Well, I suppose I could tell a little about myself to help you guys understand me a little better.
I'm a 22 year old US Navy sailor stationed in Virginia Beach, Virginia. Though a bit of a charismatic, and energetic fellow I'm not nearly as spastic as I used to be, yet I have managed to maintain a great deal of my fun loving, spontaneous demeanor.
I come from an irreparably broken family, with which I no longer associate. I have become a rather independent fellow, having left the church, and almost totally the faith as well while simultaneously becoming a rather withdrawn and awkward person socially. A lot of this stems from my rough childhood and upbringing, but I have never allowed myself to become a mirror of the kinds of people my parents were.
I am an avid video gamer, and fan of all things nerdy. Everything from the realms of science fiction and fantasy catches at least some degree of my interest. I am a learning artist as well. The bulk of my more recent art is featured at high-ate-us.deviantart.com for those of you that may be interested.
Before joining the military, I took a year of college through MASTERS COMMISSION located in Houston, and then Harlingen TX. It was during that year that I attempted to follow a supposed calling as a youth minister, however when I ran out of funds my family opted not to support me due to my choice of career and a difference in denominational faith.
I really don't want to feel like I'm just posting nothing but the negatives that have surrounded my life, but it feels like they largely outnumber the positives. I just need some positive enforcement in my life and I'm not getting that through interaction with my military peers. Hopefully someone will hear that prayer.
(sorry for double posting)
