It’s Not the ‘Occupation’ —- It’s Islam [Excerpts]

The bodies of three murdered Israeli teenagers, 16-year-old Naftali who liked to play basketball, 16-year-old Gilad who had just finished a scuba diving course and 19-year-old Eyal with his guitar, will be met by the same ghastly parade of pallbearers who accompany every victim of terrorism.

The reporters will scribble down something about “settlements” and the “Cycle of Violence.”…It’s not about physical territory. It’s about spiritual territory. It’s not about nationalism. It’s about Islamism. It’s not about the “Occupation.” It’s about Islam.

Not a Palestinian nation. Not a Two State Solution. Not forty percent of this and sixty percent of that. The victory of Islam.

Naftali, Gilad and Eyal were murdered for the same reason that countless people have been killed in Syria, Iraq, Egypt, Afghanistan, Nigeria and Pakistan. Not to mention the United Kingdom and the United States.

They were murdered in the name of a religious war that has been going on for over a thousand years. Muslims did not suddenly begin killing Jews in 1948 or 1929. They did not begin killing Christians over American foreign policy or the oil business.

Muslims did not begin killing Jews and Christians over foreign policy. They began persecuting and killing their Christian and Jewish neighbors because their religion told them to.

Hamas, the terror group that murdered the three teens, is not a Palestinian nationalist organization, though it occasionally plays the part. Its charter begins with Allah and ends with Allah. Article Five of its charter states that the group extends to “wherever on earth there are Muslims, who adopt Islam as their way of life.”

Article Seven of the Hamas charter concludes with the infamous Islamic Hadith which proclaims that the Muslim end times will come only when “Muslims will fight the Jews (and kill them); until the Jews hide behind rocks and trees, which will cry: O Muslim! There is a Jew hiding behind me, come on and kill him!”

The hatred that leaks out of that text has nothing to do with Israel and everything to do with Islam.

Hamas’ charter begins with the Koran’s praise for Muslims “as the best people” and damns Christians and Jews to be “smitten with abasement” for having “incurred the wrath of Allah.”

This is not a statement of Palestinian nationalism. It’s Islamic supremacism.

There is nothing negotiable about supremacism. Supremacism cannot be appeased. Supremacism does not want a piece of the pie. It wants the whole pie. The allies learned that the hard way with Hitler. So did the countless kingdoms that attempted to live in peace with the armies of the Mohammedan conquerors.

If Israel had never existed, Hamas would still exist, just as the other branches of the Muslim Brotherhood exist elsewhere throughout the Middle East. Even if Zionism did not exist, the Muslim Brotherhood would persecute the Jews under its control, just like the Christians in Egypt and Syria.

There is no political solution to a supremacist conflict. There is no amount of withdrawals that can make bigotry go away. If a thousand years of Jewish humiliation and persecution did not satisfy the ancestors of the murderers of those three teenagers, how will handing over part of Jerusalem do the job?

It is not the victims of a thousand year old supremacist campaign who need to appease their conquerors. It is the conquerors who must come to terms with the horrors that they have inflicted through a campaign of colonialism and ethnic cleansing and seek the forgiveness of their victims.

There can be no peace until Muslims understand that the Mohammedan conquests were a genocidal atrocity that destroyed entire peoples and cultures. Only then can they honestly condemn ISIS for trying to repeat those atrocities. And only then will they be able to live in peace with the rest of the world.

My own addition to "It's Not Occupation...it's Islam":
"There can be no peace until Muslims understand that the Mohammedan conquests were a genocidal atrocity that destroyed entire peoples and cultures. Only then can they honestly condemn ISIS for trying to repeat those atrocities. And only then will they be able to live in peace with the rest of the world."
There will be NO true peace in the Middle East, or anywhere in this world, until the Prince of Peace, Jesus Christ, returns to this earth to rule and reign in Jerusalem for 1,000 years.

I can't help but believe there is this connection...

And he will be a wild man; his hand will be against every man, and every man's hand against him; and he shall dwell in the presence of all his brethren.
(Gen 16:12)

v.12 And he will be a wild man. Literally, a wild ass (of a) man; the פֶּרֶא, snarler, being so called from its swiftness of foot (cf. Job_39:5-8), and aptly depicting "the Bedouin’s boundless love of freedom as he rides about in the desert, spear in hand, upon his camel or his horse, hardy, frugal, reveling in the varied beauty of nature, and despising town life in every form" (Keil). As Ishmael and his offspring are here called "wild ass men," so Israel is designated by the prophet "sheep men" (Eze_36:37, Eze_36:38). His hand will be against every man, and every man’s hand against him. Exemplified in the turbulent and lawless character of the Bedouin Arabs and Saracens for upwards of thirty centuries. "The Bedouins are the outlaws among the nations. Plunder is legitimate gain, and daring robbery is praised as valor (Kalisch). And he shall dwell in the presence of—literally, before the face of, L e. to the east of (Rosenmller, Gesenius, Tuch, Knobel, Delitzsch); or, "everywhere before the eyes of" (Kalisch, Wordsworth); or, independently of (Calvin, Keil, Lunge, Murphy)—all his brethren. The Arabs of today are "just as they were described by the spirit of prophecy nearly 4000 years ago". Pulpit Commentary

Reducing all conflict to revenge, and basing all engagement in conflict on that false principle is likewise wrong.

9/11 was a result of the animosity of a few muslims against the West. What they did was not right. But was revenge? Whether or not the war that ensued was justified or right comes with an ambiguous answer wherein many angles must be considered.

Was it right of the American government to make an effort to ensure that more attacks don't claim innocent lives? Sure it was. Was it right for them to kill a million Iraqi and Afghani civilians in the process? I don't think it was.

Likewise, is it right for the few Palestinians who attacked these three boys to do so? No, it was not. But is it right for Israel to step up the campaign and fire shells into civilian territory in retaliation? No, I don't think it is.

When it is boiled down and reduced to the simplest terms, war is conflict, and conflict can't happen unless there is some form of animosity. Counter-killings can't happen unless there is an animosity.

Now, more to the point, I was sickened by the attitude of some people who said 'kill a thousand for every Israeli'. That is why I've plainly called out the revenge attitude as wrong. It is not that I base 'all conflict' on revenge, simply that the retaliatory conflict proposed here is blatanly based on a revenge attitude - 'get them back, kill a thousand for every Israeli!'

All conflict is not revenge, but all revenge is conflict. There won't ever be peace by revenge. Revenge begets revenge begets revenge just like war begets war begets war and conflict begets conflict begets conflict.

Peoples' attitudes towards objective things cause the problems, not the things themselves. If people stepped back and really looked at the world and our place in it, they would soon see that all conflict is a result of a particular attitude to things. If the attitude changes, then perhaps humanity might take a different road.

So the problem with aggressors is that they just don't step back and really look at the world and our place in it?

And if their victims just explained that to them, the aggressors would lay down their arms and return home?

Do you know the material difference between theory and reality?

Right because getting on someone's nerves and challenging their view on revenge is comparable to wanting a thousand dead Palestinians for every Israeli that's killed.

:/
Painting with that broad brush and fantasy paint again.

Misconstruing an argument does not invalidate it.

Jesus himself asked 'do you want to get well?'. The response 'a perfect world has no war' indicates that you simply accept war as a natural part of human life. You do not want to 'get well' with war. I, on the other hand, do not think that way. I think that war, for all of it, is an inhumane practice wherein human brothers and sisters slaughter each other in the name of land, or money, profit, gain, ideology or dogma.

I think to profit from death itself is the most gravest of inhumanities and that if you, a christian woman, would truly follow the man you profess to follow that you would emulate him in his wisdom and strive to understand that the nature we see today is not the best we humans can be.

If an all encompassing, all-hoping ideology of peace and compassion is nothing but a theory to you then reality will never reflect compassion or peace. 'The Kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking but of righteousness, peace and joy in holy spirit'.

There is no place you may walk the path of God unless you are willing to tread it, and the one with legs to do so, that is you, is the only one who can make you walk there. 'For the Kingdom of God is within you'.

If you would not even change your outlook, then how might the world? If the individual will not change themselves, how else can the world ever change? If no individual would decide 'I will live a live of boundless compassion, towards both enemies and friends', then how might any of the world ever love an enemy?

You do not understand Jesus, his purpose, nor his teachings, none of which are what you state.

You've filtered the NT through your non-Christian beliefs, altering the NT to fit them. Your basic premise here is not NT teaching.

You've filtered the NT through your non-Christian beliefs, altering the NT to fit them.

Your basic premise here is not NT teaching.

You can believe what you like. But no change is no change.

Assertion without demonstration is without merit.

Exactly the point.

The change Jesus came to effect is not the change of which you speak. Conclusion

You do not understand Jesus, his purpose, nor his teachings. Conclusion

And I won't be explaining the whole NT to you.

You can believe what you like. But no change is no change.
Because you have provided no effective solution for aggression.

Non-responsive.

I don't need you to. You overestimate my textual penuriousness.
Right. . .because it's not about reading or knowing text, it's about regeneration by the Holy Spirit.
And therein I have not overestimated your exceedingly great penuriousness.

The Word of God is given to the people of God; i.e., those in Christ by regeneration of his Holy Spirit.
The unregenerate cannot really understand the Word of God.

Suffice it to say that Jesus did not come to bring peace, but a sword.
Suffice it to say that Jesus came to effect change of heart in those whom the Father gave him.
He did not come to change the world, which is already condemned,
but to save out of the condemned world those who are in him.

Suffice it to say that the Word of God is foolishness to those who are not regenerated by the Holy Spirit.
