Everyone has at one point dreamed up a person that would fit them perfectly. Someone who has the qualities that they are looking for. So I ask: How would your Dream Spouse be?
In fairness, I will post mine first.

The main thing I look for in a girl, is a heart for God. I need someone who loves the Lord as much as I do, Who gets excited about God and what He does.

I have always liked shorter, more petite girls. *Which is so opposite as I am so tall and broad*
I used to like blonds, but now I seem to lean towards brunettes.
Someone who smiles a lot, and can stand all my corny jokes!
A girl who can just love me for me and overlook my mistakes.

Some of this might seem just dumb, but this is a dream, so I can dream what I like. But in life, I know so long as she would love God , then everything else would not matter :)

So what about you?

She must love God and she must love me, in that order. A woman who accepts me for the man that I am and I will accept her for the beautiful woman that she is for a woman that loves God has deep inner and outer beauty.

Before Arlene entered my life, I didn't have any clue what I wanted in a wife. The big non-negotiable was that she had to be a strong Christian - one who honours God, herself and others (duration didn't matter so much as dedication). Also, I would need to enjoy her and we would need to share some common interests. We would need to be able to have good discussions about God and life in general. A passion for children would be pretty important too. Finally, she would need to be able to appreciate my weirdness.

I did have a thing for red-heads, always have. Arlene doesn't have red hair - no worries, mate!
I've always been a sucker for soulful eyes and heartwarming smiles - she fits those to a T. :)

I feel very blessed and I pray that we'll draw closer to God, as we draw closer to each other.

That's all we need isn't it?

Not a long shopping list that I've seen recently that likely nobody will measure up to at all points. Something that looks on good on paper doesn't necessary feel right.

Of course,

1) A heart that pursues the Lord
2) A heart that loves to worship the Lord in many or all aspects of life
3) I tend to be more attracted to men with darker features; like dark eye, dark eyes... But its not a have to. I know that in the end, if their heart is beautiful, then their outer body will become beautiful as well. :)
4) Someone who can inspire me in my faith and I can inspire them.
5) Someone who I can admire and know that I can submit to him because his heart is after the Lord.

Obviously, I know that we go through down and ups in life and there will be times when we have to really fight to keep our faith strong in the Lord... etc... I am aware of that so I do not expect the perfect man as I am not a perfect woman... But you get the idea lol. And I know he will not lead perfectly and will make mistakes, just like me, but that is all part of the beauty of building a strong relationship foundation and makes the adventure even more beautiful. :) Especially when you've been married 50+ years and can look into each other's eyes and know that all the hard moments you went through were worth it.

Okay, I'm done with all the mushy stuff hehe.

With love in your hearts drawing closer to God is inevitable. Don't worry about the 'weirdness'. With the proper training this will be reduced to a just a 'little eccentric' in no time. She will probably think that will be an adorable quality and you will be made in the shade from that point on.

Tintin, Your a great guy. Arlene is a great woman. I think you two are great!
And to be honest, it feels like Arlene would not like you as much if you were not weird.
I like being weird, it sets me apart.

I just remembered something my friend said yesterday. And maybe someone would get a smile from it.
He said "Me and Rachel (His wife to be) have only had one fight. She came to me on her knees....... And said "Get out from under the bed and fight like a man!""

And saying this has led me to ask something. Is it too much to commit to never fighting with my wife? I know it can get tough sometimes when married, but would it be wrong to not fight? I mean like anger, arguing is going to happen. But I don't think I could ever be mad at my wife. I can't be mad at anyone! And I would not want to be mad at her.
Is it wrong to strive like this? To never fight?

Edit: Tintin. I will do everything within my power to come. I talked with a missionary to Aussie this week, I want to visit haha

Oh, we're not fussed about the weirdness. We're both weird in our own special ways and I've always viewed my eccentricities as something to be proud of, not hidden away. Thanks, bro!

It's okay to argue! You will definitely argue with your future spouse! :) The important thing is to not argue and sin. There is a right way to argue and and a sinful way to argue. The important thing is that you guys know how to communicate in a healthy manner that improves your relationship instead of tearing each other down.

You have a very good understanding on this. Communicating in a healthy manner is critical and the husband and wife should never go to bed mad, and each night they should say "I love you" and kiss goodnight.

After several years and dreams, I bet "dreamed ones" are much more than that.

Some dreams come to be true!

For those who never were married:

Try not to argue! It is better to talk, to communicate feelings and those emotions rather than arguing or talking back.

I myself know it, noy only as an ex, but also as a dad. Children never liked discussions or people talking too aloud to be heard. We all want to be heard.

I saw one of those at an air show a few years ago but it was just sitting on the ground, but it looked brand new and I'm sure it still flies because it was parked where all the other planes were.

If there's one that still flies, then my post is irrelevant! :p
