Elin, you can sit around all day praying for God to do things he's given you the power to do yourself - to learn, to search, to accomplish and to cultivate character traits worthy of some semblance of Godliness - or you can actually say 'you know what? It's about time I actually got up off my back-side and put peace-seeking, affection and caring as a priority of mine'.

You've made you choice, though. ''Let the wars continue unopposed, ignore the hardships of your fellow humans and degrade the idea of being willing to help these people, vocally or physically, cause it's all okay. We can't do anything tangible to change anything for anyone.'' The irnoy is you'll call me a seeker of argument, a person wanting to disrupt the peace, as though your life is harder than those in war!!!

Where is your heart? You come across as the kind of person talking about the peace and love of God, the same type who's never willing to seek it, cultivate it, learn it or produce it.

If you did empathize as I asked, your priority would not be some petty, ignorant argument right here. It simply would not. I would be limbs, bones, broken bodies, innocent children dying both inside and outside the womb because of bombs and unnecesary conflict. It would be broken hearts, minds, broken homes, hatred, the world's woes, the gap in power, the poverty of millions and the complete lack of love you show towards it.

What you reply to me is pathetic, and it shows your inhumanity to a disturbing degree that you put some technicality before the reality of your fellow humans' suffering.

I am often ashamed to be the same species.

Revelation of the person Jesus Christ is not left to men,
only God can do that.

Elin, if I can have compassion rather than apathy in a situation, I already know which one is preferred. I don't need to re-read the entire bible to understand that.

You can't even seem to fathom that if you portray a Christian as being apathetic and nonchalant regarding human suffering then those who look at you will come to think that apathy is a Christian trait. Since Christians profess faith in Jesus, won't these same people suspect that Jesus is perhaps an apathetic person in regards to human suffering?

Or has your sense of logic escaped you completely?

The shame is that Jesus certainly was not apathetic towards human suffering.

The characteristics of your personality - especially those which you profess are in the name of God - are what those in contact with you will come to suspect that God is to be known by. Hence, 'people see the Jesus you show them'. You dishonour a man of compassion when you claim that indifference to those who suffer is a character trait of that man.

I really don't know how else to say it. If I walk down the street, see someone being abused, and preach 'nobody can do anything to stop suffering. Jesus said compassion is pointless', that would be dishonoring the man. It would be untrue, and I believe he'd rather I jumped in the middle and gave my own body up for someone else than walk on by and preach apathy.

Do you believe in the work of Jesus on the cross to save you from your sin, on which abides the wrath of God?

All else in this discussion is irrelevant.

Why are you sitting there involved on CC and not out relieving all that suffering?...or at least some of it?

Esanta, do you believe and trust on the work of Jesus on the cross to forgive your sin, over which the wrath of God abides?
