The problem is that those who preach we only have to believe in Him as Lord and Savior do not fully understand what it means to believe in some one.

To believe in some one means to believe in what they said, so to believe in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior you must believe in what He said we must do for salvation.

Remember this we will all be judged, those who thank they won't will be in for a rude awaking.

Romans 14:10-12

10 Why do you pass judgment on your brother? Or you, why do you despise your brother? For we will all stand before the judgment seat of God; 11 for it is written,
“As I live, says the Lord, every knee shall bow to me,
and every tongue shall confess to God.”
12 So then each of us will give an account of himself to God.

2 Corinthians 5:10

“For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive the things done in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad”

You must accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, repent and ask forgiveness of your sins, turn from walking in darkness to walking in light by showing and saying the profession of your faith by baptism and confessing Jesus as Lord before other people. And producing good works by doing for others, esteeming them more than self.

Let your light shine before other people to show the glory of the Lord that is in you. Not hide it and keep to yourself.

Where in the bible is all that required to be born again? As stated you have salvation by works and not by God's loving grace.

Newbirth, I am just curious as to how long you have been saved? Your profile says you don't know. I find that very curious. Perhaps a little of your testimony would clear up my confusion as to what you are trying to say. Because it sure sounds like you are preaching works-righteousness and perfectionism doctrines. Not good!

I have not separated anything, we know who he is, are you saying you don't know who he is? If you don't know who he is, how can you be sure you are doing what he says?
God needs no help in being who he is or doing what he does, we need to do what he wants.
I'm saying this because I've come out from a militant, do what God says and don't question it experience in the past. It's about doing out of a relationship of love and knowing who He is, more than just do it. Some people have the view that they are a peasant servant at Gods feet and He orders them around, where the other view, which I believe we are to live out from is as a prince/princess, a son/daughter of the King who does their Fathers will from intimate relationship. A peasant servant does not know intamcy from it's master, where a son/daughter does. God desires for us to know Him, and Him know us more than doing His work, as Jesus stated that He will cast out that He does not know though they did His work.

You say you have not seperated the definitions, but all you speak about it obeying; i'm not having a go at you, i'm just trying to bring balance to your post.

QUOTED: What we must do to be born again? What must we do? END QUOTATION

QUOTED: You must accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, repent and ask forgiveness of your sins, turn from walking in darkness to walking in light by showing and saying the profession of your faith by baptism and confessing Jesus as Lord before other people. END QUOTATION........

I would have stopped with the first half of the first sentence........... :)

You must accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, repent and ask forgiveness of your sins

but reversed the order.........."repent and ask forgiveness of your sins and accept Jesus as Lord and Saviour........

:)

The rest is a "witness to" and/or a "fruit of" one being born again..........receiving salvation.......but, that's just me, so.....

And your point? Or are you confirming what I wrote?
No, we have not reached perfection yet.
One cannot get to a place if he does not know where it is...
you have your idea of perfection God has his ...let our perfection be judged by God....
God has not commanded us to do the impossible...For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.2 Chronicles 15:17
But the high places were not taken away out of Israel: nevertheless the heart of Asa was perfect all his days

2 Chronicles 19:9
And he charged them, saying, Thus shall ye do in the fear of the Lord, faithfully, and with a perfect heart.

2 Chronicles 25:2
And he did that which was right in the sight of the Lord, but not with a perfect heart.

2 Chronicles 16:9
For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to shew himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward him. Herein thou hast done foolishly: therefore from henceforth thou shalt have wars.

Matthew 5:48

Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.

Luke 6:40
The disciple is not above his master: but every one that is perfect shall be as his master.
2 Corinthians 13:11
Finally, brethren, farewell. Be perfect, be of good comfort, be of one mind, live in peace; and the God of love and peace shall be with you.

Ephesians 4:13

Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:

Philippians 3:11-15
[SUP]11 [/SUP]If by any means I might attain unto the resurrection of the dead.
[SUP]12 [/SUP]Not as though I had already attained, either were already perfect: but I follow after, if that I may apprehend that for which also I am apprehended of Christ Jesus.
[SUP]13 [/SUP]Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before,
[SUP]14 [/SUP]I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.
[SUP]15 [/SUP]Let us therefore, as many as be perfect, be thus minded: and if in any thing ye be otherwise minded, God shall reveal even this unto you.

We hear of men believing in Christ, believing in God, trusting and having great faith in Christ and God. We constantly hear the phrase" Jesus is Lord!". Sure the scriptures is clear,
1 Corinthians 8:6
But to us there is but one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we in him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we by him.
What do we mean by LORD
lord

noun \ˈlȯrd\

Definition of LORD

1
: one having power and authority over others:
a : a ruler by hereditary right or preeminence to whom service and obedience are due

To the one who does not give Jesus power and authority over their life, he is not their Lord.
To the one who does not give Jesus the service and obedience due , he is not their Lord.
If you confess Jesus Christ as Lord, he becomes your master if you disobey him you are a liar and therefore he is not your Lord.
Romans 10

That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
[SUP]10 [/SUP]For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

While some falsely teach "believe is the only command you must obey to be saved" the word of God is clear, believing Jesus and him becoming the Lord of your life is the way to salvation.
Those who teach otherwise deny the Lordship of Jesus if Jesus is not your Lord you cannot be saved.
Matthew 10:32-34
[SUP]32 [/SUP]Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven.
[SUP]33 [/SUP]But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven.
[SUP]34 [/SUP]Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.

Jesus is my God and Savior.

Just as scripture states.

And producing good works by doing for others, esteeming them more than self.
So until all of this is accomplished, we are still lost? Acts 26:18 - to open their eyes, in order to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan to God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins and an inheritance among those who are sanctified by faith in Me. Does faith in Christ precede water baptism, confessing Jesus as Lord before other people and producing good works or does it come after? At what point are we saved? The moment that we place our faith in Christ for salvation or not until later, after water baptism and other good works are accomplished?

Let your light shine before other people to show the glory of the Lord that is in you. Not hide it and keep to yourself.
Because we are saved or to become saved?

Amen! When we repent and place our faith in Christ for salvation, we have turned from darkness to light (Acts 26:18) and have accepted Jesus as Lord and Savior. :)

The rest is a "witness to" and/or a "fruit of" one being born again..........receiving salvation.......but, that's just me, so.....
Amen! We must not confuse the root of salvation (faith) with the fruit of salvation (good works). Faith is the root and good works are the fruit of salvation. No fruit would demonstrate no root.

What is it to anyone when I was saved? What day was Christ born? What say was he baptised? My testimony is Jesus Christ the Son of God forgave me of my sins, gave me of his spirit that I should walk like him in truth and righteousness. I have made him Lord of my life. He will raise me up in the last day.
I don't know what problems you guys have with works, righteousness is of faith, faith without works is dead(not of the law) or with being perfect, Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect
(perfect heart)but the scripture is clear.
John 17:23
I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me.
Romans 12:2
And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
Titus 1:16
They profess that they know God; but in works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate.

What I don't understand is, how can someone say they are born again, still continue in sin and say all is well?
What are they born again into ? You cannot be a new creature and be doing the same old things.

Because we are saved or to become saved?

Faith comes first, but you show your faith through these things we are told to do by our Lord. If you have true faith in the Lord you do these things He said we must do to be saved. Through your love for the Lord you show it in your actions.

If you believe you can still walk in willful un-repented, unforgiving sin then you do not truly follow our Lord.

He says you can not serve both Him and satan, and those that walk in willful sin serve satan. The bible also says we are to run as to achieve salvation, and one verse that I like to use that some like to twist around is one that is repeated by our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ;

Matthew 10:22
And you will be hated by all for my name's sake. But the one who endures to the end will be saved.

Here our Lord does not say when you are saved you endure to the end, it is just the opposite; one who endures to the end will be saved.

The way I like to look at it, is we are in a saved state that through it we must walk in light enduring and persevering through our personal trials and tribulations, letting the Holy Spirit work in us to perfect us so that we can stand before the Lord blameless.

The only way you can stand before the Lord blameless is by repenting and asking forgiveness of your sins, and walking the proper path. But if you back slide we have an advocate in our Lord, that if you ask for forgiveness of that sin, He is just and will forgive you.

Nowhere in the bible does it say it is acceptable to walk in sin, and when you repent ( change of mind ) of sins that does not make sin acceptable as some like to believe to justify their not wanting to stop committing that sin.

It is by grace ...but through faith...faith without works is dead.We are taught to observe what the apostles teach us in their epistles. If they say do good to all men we do that. If they say be baptized we do it.Walk in the light we do it.
1 Peter 1:23

Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.

Romans 12:2
And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
