Many people read the New Testament and say that Jesus did not teach us to keep the Sabbath. The reason why you don't find Jesus saying such things as, "Remember the seventh day to keep it holy" is because teaching which day is the Lord's day falls under "Orthodoxy". Orthodoxy is when you teach people right doctrines such as, "The seventh day is the Lord's day". Orthopraxy is when you teach people right behavior.
Jesus didn't come teach people which day the Sabbath was, they already knew that. What Jesus came to do is teach us how to behave on the Sabbath.
In everyone of Jesus' teachings, regarding the seventh day Sabbath, you never hear Him doing away with it or changing it to another day. What you do find Him doing is teaching us how to behave on the seventh day in light of love.
Listen very closely to the teachings of Jesus regarding the Sabbath. He never changes the day nor does He do away with it. What He does do is He teaches Orthopraxy, right behavior on the Sabbath. Listen.
Matthew 12:10-12 And behold, there was a man who had a withered hand. And they asked Him, saying, “Is it lawful to heal on the Sabbath?”—that they might accuse Him. Then He said to them, “What man is there among you who has one sheep, and if it falls into a pit on the Sabbath, will not lay hold of it and lift it out?Of how much more value then is a man than a sheep? Therefore it is lawful to do good on the Sabbath.”
This next one is very interesting because Jesus uses the Old Covenant to teach a New Covenant principle. That means what Jesus was teaching has always been the heart of God. Listen.
Matthew 12:1-5 At that time Jesus went through the grain fields on the Sabbath. And His disciples were hungry, and began to pluck heads of grain and to eat. And when the Pharisees saw it,they said to Him, “Look, Your disciples are doing what is not lawful to do on the Sabbath!” But He said to them, “Have you not read what David did when he was hungry, he and those who were with him: how he entered the house of God and ate the show bread which was not lawful for him to eat, nor for those who were with him, but only for the priests? Or have you not read in the law that on the Sabbath the priests in the temple profane the Sabbath, and are blameless?
Jesus didn't need to teach us which day the Sabbath was, everyone knew that. Jesus needed to teach us how to keep the Sabbath in light of the Sabbath being made for man and not man for the Sabbath.
Mark 2:27 And He said to them, “The Sabbath was made for man, and not man for the Sabbath.
Let us follow the teachings of Jesus and learn from Him the meaning and purpose of Sabbath observance.
Luke 13:11-17 And behold, there was a woman who had a spirit of infirmity eighteen years, and was bent over and could in no way raise herself up. But when Jesus saw her, He called her to Him and said to her, “Woman, you are loosed from your infirmity.” And He laid His hands on her, and immediately she was made straight, and glorified God. But the ruler of the synagogue answered with indignation, because Jesus had healed on the Sabbath; and he said to the crowd, “There are six days on which men ought to work; therefore come and be healed on them, and not on the Sabbath day.” The Lord then answered him and said, “Hypocrite! Does not each one of you on the Sabbath loose his ox or donkey from the stall, and lead it away to water it?So ought not this woman, being a daughter of Abraham, whom Satan has bound—think of it—for eighteen years, be loosed from this bond on the Sabbath?” And when He said these things, all His adversaries were put to shame; and all the multitude rejoiced for all the glorious things that were done by Him.
Do you need Orthodoxy regarding the Sabbath or Othopraxy? If you need Orthodoxy then you need to be taught by the Law on stone first. If you already know the Law on stone then you need Orthopraxy, right behavior on the Sabbath, which is found in the teachings of Jesus.
