Because i believe in miracles? Lol!

Its hard to find a God-centered man, sensitive to others, self controlled, responsible, open and communicative and motivated by principle. They are all probably taken. It would literally take a miracle to find one.
They are not all taken but they are in short supply.

Because the three men I dated, who were supposedly Christians, were awful people and it makes you wonder if there is anybody worth it out there anymore. I don't need a man in my life. God is a great provider and protector. Sure it gets lonely sometimes but it is nice to not have to answer to anybody about how I handle the money, I don't have to talk or discuss anything with somebody else.

This sounds like a lonely situation. My opinion.

if it's a guy... ' because you never asked! '

or

' you know fiona from 'shrek?' i turn into an ogre when the sun goes down, too. '

' i made sure to waste most of my twenties on someone who never asked '

( thank God he didn't )

' i left the one guy who was about to ask, just before he did '

( thank God that happened )

reasons i'd love to say, but can't:

+ because nothing is lonelier than being with the wrong person.

+because i'm exhausted being pursued by bona fide crazy dudes, which have a tendency of souring me on men and relationships (at least for awhile)

+ because nobody told me that i might have an easier time if i spent more time focusing on being a simpleminded, half-witted birdbrain who channeled her intellectual energies in being pleasing and "cute" instead of being myself

+ because i never wanted to be the traditional woman who couldn't wait to get pregnant and raise a horde of babies behind her white picket fence. not every woman needs or wants that.

+ because some of us are afraid of marriage when you've grown up among the carnage and collateral damage of divorce. it takes awhile to address, heal, and grow beyond that. and sometimes it takes YEARS.

+ because it's ok to not get married when you're not ready.

+ because it's ok to be un-traditional, to find the meandering way. because it's ok to be a late bloomer.

First we allowed women to read and write...
and then everything just went downhill.

: )

- Because any man who would want to get involved in my hectic, chaotic life could hardly be sensible, and you know I could never love a man who was out of his wits.

- Because I can open my own pickle jars!

That's bad. Men get pressure to dumb themselves down, too. I once had a personals ad and I mentioned that I liked art, going to museums, and had a lifelong interest in science and history I and mentioned a few interesting things I have done. Someone critiqued it and said, "Art?" "Science?" "Museums?" "No woman wants a guy like that. All women want is a guy who is stable yet fun!"

Aaargh!!

Because apparently new science says we've got this covered now. I don't NEED to get married. lol

This question is posed in such a way as to insinuate that being single is a negative thing - still single, as though we're all constantly searching for partnership we're unable to find or keep. Actually, I'm single because I choose to be.

If you read the OP, that was the point she was getting at. Everyone here has varying views on the positive or negative natures of their singleness. People are just talking about how we "wish" we could respond when asked the question instead of giving a polite response typically given.

I wish I could give out some epic answer like I'm going to be going on an Indiana Jones type adventure XD

Not that I really get asked very often. Though people are typically shocked I'm single or have never had a boyfriend.

Maybe me, because I really don't like talking on the phone or being around them. Just call me phone intolerant.
isn't there an enzyme or pill you can take for that? or at least try some colloidal silver or coconut oil.

i hear that can cure almost anything.
