Num 12:6 And he said, "Hear my words: If there is a prophet among you, I the LORD make myself known to him in a vision; I speak with him in a dream.

It would literally kill a person. God is beyond our comprehension.

Because of God's perfection in righteousness, he is so perfect he has no flaws that God Almighty has no reason to diminish himself to be around sin.
Why should he? To please us?
God has no debt to pay us. owes us nothing, since it is quite the opposite.
It is our job to believe, not his job to continually prove himself.
We have sin in us still simply by being human until we are perfected, after resurrection.
We are told that like a silversmith he refines us.
This is done with fire, I view that as trials when trusting him him purge the impurities and sin from us.
We are also told after Jesus came we would then be baptized in the holy spirit,and with fire.
again purging sin and impurities from us to be more in the likeness of our Lord.
What if God revealed himself fully in all his glory? All that purging of sin at once happening?
Perhaps that's why some people spontaneously combust, who knows.
But also because he is the destroyer, (destroyer of sin) we would most surely die for having any sin within us while in his presence.
1 Cor 10:10
And do not complain as some of them did, and were killed by the destroyer.
He didn't even fully reveal himself to Moses. Just his backside.
But we can rejoice to be content God has evidenced himself through all his creation.
Romans 1:20
For since the creation of the world God's invisible qualities--his eternal power and divine nature--have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse.

He did 2000 years ago... And he will again, hopefully soon.
Remember that sin separates us from God, so we are here for a specific purpose. Its a time for a test of faith to determine who loves God and who doesn't. If God appeared, faith goes out the window. Then how would God know who loves loves him and who's obedient? Jesus describes himself as the brides groom and the Church as his bride. A good bride remains faithful to her husband when he's out of town. A bad bride whores about, adultery equates to idolatry; "Woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck in those days!" (Matthew 24:19). jmo

The evidence of God's existence is everywhere; there is no need for Him to present Himself to us. Quite the contrary, the need is for us to seek Him, and present ourselves to Him. There is a Way Who is also the Truth and the Life........Jesus Christ,.

Good question! My best guess is that he's decided not to play it that way... Similar question...I think... Why is it that we don't know for sure if we're dreaming right now?
There's not really a black and white, definitive answer that'll do that question justice, cause you're asking the question, so obviously you think on some level that God could and should physically manifest himself. Some say you gotta have faith, and 'faith' is an old word that equates to 'trust', but it doesn't actually imply unwavering blind trust without any evidence whatsoever.
What it does imply is trust in the right places. Certainly, if God is love, then 'love' is arguably the most 'right' place to put your trust. When you see someone acting selflessly, that's Godly behaviour. When you see someone working for peace, with peaceful intent, peaceful motives, benevolent actions, that's Godly behaviour. Wherever there's selfless love, then you could say there's God.
From that viewpoint, God's in a lot of places.

If I love someone, I dont need to see them. God uses His spirit to speak to us everyday, and for me that is just as good as seeing.
FEELING is better than seeing, because God is love.
I feel His power work within me every day. There is no need to see Him as I feel totally content knowing He has His hand holding me, and knowing He loves me.
God is too powerful and too glorious for our sinful selves to lay our eyes upon Him......we are not worthy.

Yesterday, by the way, someone told me "feeling" is better than living things out, viscerally... I have a nother idea and, if He is please with me, a sinner, I hope to enjoy times with Him, His life experience while he was with His twelve apostles, while he created heaven and earth... I spend too much time feeling. I chose to live living, as long as I am visceral and a body person.
the purpose of God is to find and destroy all the evil in the world, and He has been doing a wonderful job of it, because today is a better day than yesterday, tomorrow will be a better day than today, because everyday God removes some evil from the world and replaces it with good, love, compassion, and forgiveness.
Now I realize that that is exactly the opposite of what most pastors and evangelist will tell you, because they want to scare you into the church, but that is not something they can do. No one can come to God, unless God has prepared them for that experience. Remember from Luke 8 where Jesus is explaining the parable of the sower? Luke 8: 12. Those by the way side are they that hear; then comes the devil, and takes away the word out of their hearts, lest they should believe and be saved. In order for that word to take root and grow, the soil has to be properly prepared by God to accept the seed. The reason they don't, is that God knows there is a "desire to sin" in the soul of those individuals that He has not had time to cleanse them of, and so they are not ready to accept God yet. But God is at work in the souls of all and one day in the future that seed will find good soil, and God will bless it and allow it to grow. did ya ever unknowingly find yourself in the presence of a preacher, and wonder if you had said something wrong? and then begin to watch what you say a little closer? now, imagine if you were standing next to God, which quite frequently, you are, unknowingly, you would not be yourself, you would attempt to be the kind of person, you think God wants us to be. That is why God hides among us, so we will feel free to be ourselves, allowing God the opportunity to know us as we really are, to be able to find our "desire to sin," so He can destroy it and make us better people.
