When Jesus Christ commanded (not a suggestion) that when we break bread and drink wine, we do it in remembrance of Him. He never suggested it be done on any specific day of the week. So when we do the same we do it in remembrance of Him, any time we come together to do this.

You have to do your research if you want to come out of Babylon. During the week of Jesus' crucifixion there were two Sabbaths with a normal work day in the middle. Mary bought the spices after the Sabbath ended, prepared them, and then rested on the Sabbath according to the commandment. The first Sabbath was the first day of the Feast of Unleavened Bread. They had to count seven Sabbaths starting from the first day of the Feast of Unleavened Bread. They gathered on the first Sabbath, not the first day of the week. The words, "day of the week" are not there. What is there is the word, Sabbath. Read Lev. 23 because it maps out the week of Passover, which is the day Jesus died. Hi Scuba, I believe the Sabbath you count from for the Feast of Weeks is the weekly sabbath. Let us use Christ as an example. Crucified on Pesache but was risen on First Fruits which was the day after the weekly sabbath also known as Sunday. Christ is the First of Fruits and we know that Christ rose on the first day of the week.
Jesus died on Passover, which is the 14th day. The very next day (the 15th) is the first day of the Feast of Unleavened Bread, which was a Sabbath. Count seven Sabbaths from that day and then add one day, which equals 50 days, (according to Lev.) and that brings you to Pentecost. Jesus had to spend three days and three nights in the grave. Passover (wed), Feast of Unleavened Bread (Thurs), Friday normal work day, Saturday the seventh day Sabbath. They went to the tomb early Sabbath morning on the first Sabbath and Jesus was already gone.

If first fruits is on the 1 day of the feast of unleavened bread then how could Christ have been the first fruits if he had not risen on the day of first fruits?
1 Corinthians 15:20 But Christ has indeed been raised from the dead, the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep
NIV and KJV Do not have it the first of the sabbath but the first of the week.
NIV John 20:1 Early on the first day of the week, while it was still dark, Mary Magdalene went to the tomb
KJV John 20:1 The first day of the week cometh Mary Magdalene early, when it was yet dark
If it would have been on the first day of unleaven bread then Christ would not have been in the ground for 3 days and 3 nights. He would have only been in the ground only one day.
Matthew 12:40 For as Jonah was three days and three nights in the belly of a huge fish, so the Son of Man will be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth
In Leviticus 23:7 the first day of Unleaven Bread is not a called it a sabbath. It is a holy conovocation or qodesh midra (Strongs 6944 and 4744).
In Leviticus 23:11 First Fruits and Leviticus 23:15, First Fruits or wave offering, is defined as on the morrow after the sabbath. (Strongs 7676) They are not the same word.
The holy day after Unleaven bread is a Holy Conovocation (6944, 4744) and not the weekly sabbath (7676). First Fruits is defined as the morrow after the weekly sabbath (7676).

It's my bad being confusing on my post which should read "the most against Sabbath keepers and for man made holy days..."
Not sure if you are saying those speaking against Sabbath keepers are not Christians or if you have not met a Christian who speaks against Sabbath keepers. If you mean the latter then welcome to CC because we have plenty here who spice up and make this forum lively and interesting.
My "they cannot be wrong" remark was for the religious leaders not unlike those at the time when the Word of God came in the flesh and spoke in first person correcting the misunderstanding and misapplication of the law.
This "cannot be wrong" attitude led to the persecution of the prophets, the Christ and His followers. Not sure if I've made it clear.

Amen! Gathering together is such a joy but we must not forget the seventh day blessing in the process.

My understanding on this verse is that the breaking of bread took place in the evening because in the original language it's the first of the week rather than the first day of the week and Paul probably didn't preach from early morning till after midnight but if indeed he did, it would be nice to see the same done at our local church today. After all, what is better than a little retreat into His Word all day one in seven?

Acts 2v46 [AMP] states: "And day after day they regularly assembled in the temple with united purpose, and in their homes they broke bread [including the Lord's Supper]. They partook of their food with gladness and simplicity and generous hearts..."
So, they not only met every day of the week, but also saturday AND sunday as well!

First of all, He did not rise on Sunday morning...
Joh 20:1 The first day of the week cometh Mary Magdalene early, when it was yet dark, unto the sepulchre, and seeth the stone taken away from the sepulchre.
Joh 20:2 Then she runneth, and cometh to Simon Peter, and to the other disciple, whom Jesus loved, and saith unto them, They have taken away the Lord out of the sepulchre, and we know not where they have laid him.
He was already gone!
Secondly, perhaps you can count three days and three nights for us from Friday at sunset to Sunday morning?
Thirdly, the Passover was on Wednesday, April 25 (Julian dating), 31AD.
The ONLY sign Christ gave that He was the Messiah (by His own words) is that He would be in the tomb three days and three nights...
Mat 12:39 But he answered and said unto them, An evil and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and there shall no sign be given to it, but the sign of the prophet Jonas:

He was buried just before/at sunset on Wednesday and arose three days and three nights later before/at sunset on the weekly Sabbath afternoon.
It's very simple to come out of Babylon when you use the map that God gave us. Great, but this was a one off event. Do you go to church daily? When do you work? Who supports your church fincancially if no one works. By the way, if everyone goes to church and no one works, what do you eat?

Sunday starts at Sundown. When it is dark and goes until then next evening. During Passover Night and Day are about even or 12 hours each being around the Spring Equinox. It is entirely possible Christ rose on Sunday(After Dark) and then later that night Mary went to the Tomb(After Dark) being a 12 hour span. There is more then enough time for this to happen. Since Scripture says Christ is the First Fruits and He fulfilled the Spring Feasts I would think he rose on First Fruits which is defined as the morrow after the Sabbath.

There is a a lot of debate when Christ was crucified. 31 AD may be correct but others may disagree. He definatley was not crucified on Friday since that would not give enough time to be in the ground 3 days and 3 nights. I think this is a good topic for a new thread on when he was crucified.

The Bible also says that Mary went to the tomb while it was still dark. The words, "while it was still dark" indicates it was dark prior to her going, not that it was getting dark.
No it wasn't, it was the pattern which the early church laid down which was followed for a long time by Christians!
