the real issue at the council of Jerusalem...Acts 15:1...
'unless you are circumcised according to the custom of Moses,
'YOU CANNOT BE SAVED'.
the issue was NOT, circumcision, the issue WAS, that
you had to be circumcised AND keep the LAW of MOSES, vs.5.
TO BE SAVED! this was ALSO the MAIN issue in the Book of Galatians.
it's very clear that Paul was NOT against circumcision, Acts 16:3.
speaking of Timothy, who was 'well seasoned' in the Faith,
Paul circumcised him...
'And he took him and circumcised him because of the Jews
who were in that region, for they all knew that his father was a greek'.
(Paul was NO Hypocrite), he did NOT circumcise Timothy to make an]
'open show', he did this to show that he was a 'keeper of the Law'.
GAL. 5:11.
And I, brethren, if I still preach circumcision, why do I still suffer persecution?
'then the offence of the cross has ceased'.
ROMANS 2:25.
For circumcision is indeed profitable if you 'keep the law';
but if you are a 'breaker of the Law', your circumcision
has become 'un-circumcision'.
Acts 15:19....
'Therefore I judge that we should not trouble those from among
the gentiles who are turning to God,....
that is, (turning to God, signifies, novices-brand-new-converts...
'but that we write to them to abstain from things polluted by idols,
from sexual immorality, from things strangled, and FROM BLOOD.'
(the NT had NOT been written, and these are CLEARLY LAWS,
from the MOSIAC LAW.
(all these trangsgressions WERE BEING PRACTICISED in the culture of the
time of ACTS - it is obvious from the OTHER writings from Paul,
that MORE that these 4-POINTS ARE REQUIRED as one MATURES
in THE FAITH....these were the MINIUM REQUIRMENTS to
'come into The Body of Christ.'
they were FULLY AWARE that 'Moses has had throughout MANY-GENERATIONS,
those who preach him in every city, being read in the synagogues every SABBATH.'
in other words, they COULD LEARN THE REST EVERY SABBATH AT THE SYNOGOGUES.'
