In a case like this if someone had died (other than the responsible party) the responsible party (in this scenario the professional firearms instructor) could have faced charges of criminal negligence resulting in death. Here in Colorado it would be considered Manslaughter which is a class four felony punishable by 2-4 years in DOC and fines of up to $500,000.

AMEN!! Her parents were foolish to let her do it. 9 years old is too young for a child to be handling any weapon, much less a loaded, fully-automatic Uzi. :/
Hopefully she won't end up shooting and killing her next gun instructor. :/ If her parents are smart they should end her lessons with shooting guns. That would be the SMART thing to do, but being smart was NOT an exercise put into use in this situation.
