There's a new "reality" show here in the good ole US of A called Utopia. 15 people are on 5 acres of land where they're given next to nothing to survive, they have to decide laws, rituals, religion, etc. The "social experiment" is whether or not a utopia can be created and sustained. It's completely ridiculous and insane. The producers didn't pick 15 people who would work together, of course, because that's not what drives growth or a good story. Conflict does. It's basic English Lit 101. Conflict is required to drive a story to an ending. It's basic sanctification as well. Progress cannot be had without pain, and to quote Wesley, "Life is pain, Highness. Anyone who says differently is selling something."

Even the bible tells us that utopia without God isn't possible. But watching it play out on Fox is interesting so far. They have a preacher on there which they show praying for people, a little bit of preaching, etc. If nothing else, that's something.

So we're all aware on this forum now- if we talk about food, wondering what to eat for dinner, etc. post a picture of a starving child. That's the tactful thing to do.

I know this sounds juvenile but sometimes it feels like I have multiple mini crushes on people. This is very frustrating.

It's not juvenile, it's actually quite common. For some people it happens more than others, but nonetheless, it happens all the time. The thing you have to consider is if what you're doing is working for you and what you're getting out of it. Once you answer those two things, you can decide if you want to continue on that path. :)

You haven't been been Jesus Juked. Hmm, you've been... foodie juked? Guilty Juked? We should come up with a name for it.

It sure does. Have you sold all your possessions yet?
My 'possessions' don't trouble me, like they did the rich young man.

If you want to start preaching (which I wouldn't recommend, for obvious reasons),
you had better do it right.

My point is, do not judge me. You do not have that authority. You do not know my heart, nor my hand. Only God knows. So what are you saying with the picture? That I am not allowed to express thoughts about my hunger. Is it better for me to starve because others starve too, so that I may not be seen as a hypocrite. That I must sell all my possessions and give to the poor so that I may not be judged by men like you. What I do behind closed doors in Gods eyes matters more than in yours.

You're NOT hungry, you're just peckish. That's not judging, that's a fact.

The truth hurts, deal with it.

It's been interesting, getting to know you through your postings in Singles lately didymos. I'm curious though... what is your purpose here in this forum? Are you posting with the intent to make friends, culture relationships, be an encouragement to others, receive help yourself, or.... ?

peck·ish
ˈpekiSH/
adjective BRITISH informal

  • hungry.
"we were both feeling a bit peckish and there was nothing to eat"

Call "peckish" what you want, but it means hungry. Arwen said she was hungry, you said she was peckish. Turns out in English, peckish MEANS hungry. Problem solved.

Didymos, not cool. I used to respect you and what you had to say, but in the last few months I've noticed a change in you. You're very aggressive with members, particularly with some individuals. I want you to reflect on what you're doing here. And please, stop being a pain in the different-species-of-donkey! It's not funny, it's not loving, it's cruel. I hate bullying like I hate reality TV, so I will call you out for it. Pull up those socks of yours or ship out.
