Apparently the two words repent and save never occur in the same verse in the Bible.
And I include variations, having done a non-exact search on the ASV, literal translation.
It does appear that the two words repent (repentance, repents, repented, etc.) and save (salvation, Savior, saves, saved, etc.) never occur in the same verse in the Bible.
Or can someone show me a verse I missed on this?
Yes, you can find verses that say that repentance has some good result for people and that not repenting has a bad result; but that is not the question. You do not find, for example, "Repent of your sins, and you shall be saved."
Could it be that the Lord does not want men to erroneously think that turning over a new leaf saves? Of course metanoia is not being sorry for sins and turning over a new leaf anyway; it is a change of mind. And as scripture so often says that salvation comes just for believing/having faith, it is obvious that changing mind from non-belief to belief saves. But the fact remains (unless you can help me find a verse) that scripture never even puts save and repent in the same verse!
The question is
Why don't the actual words repent and save occur together in some verse of the Bible?
