Hi all

there are many things in the Bible that I don't quite get I don't understand and I just would like some help and please don't say I don't understand the Bible I don't want to try to understand it. someone has said this to me on here and I said back that I a little slow in understanding and that I do want to understand it. That did hurt me because I am here for this reason to understand and with the help of fellow Christians like you can help me understand and be closer to God.

Here is the question As God knows everything and sees all Did he know that Adam and Eve was going to eat the forbidden fruit. Did God know sin was going to enter the earth.

Thanks for reading

Hello Cassie,
That's a good question.
We're told God knows all things and nobody can fully know the mind of God.
I would say yes is the answer to your question.

but allow me to elaborate on that.
As God is the Father, much like a parent to their children when we tell our children something such as.
~Don't cross the street without looking both ways
~Don't go to bed without brushing their teeth
~Don't argue because I know what's best for you etc.

As a parent we hope in our heart that our children will listen and obey for their own better good.
But also as a parent who is wiser and more experienced than a child we also know that the child will
~seek their own route
~test our instruction
~conveniently forget

So if we as a human parent can come to expect the same behavior from our children
How much more would our Almighty God know Adam and Eve would display the same behavior being newly formed and like children in their own experience.

We could ask a similar question from the opposite perspective
...if God didn't know they would eat of the forbidden fruit, why did he put the tree there to begin with?

cassie, yes God DID know that Adam and Eve would eat of the forbidden fruit. That is why he sent the serpent (Satan) to tempt Eve into eating of it. Had God not created sin in this world, there would have been no need for Jesus to be born, and die for our sins. The world would be perfect today if there were no sin, but that was not part of God's plan for us. I hope this helps clear up some of your confusion. :)

God never wanted us to be robots, we are given freedom of choice, always.

Admittedly, this is a little messed up. Firstly, God didn't create sin. Secondly, sin and death etc. were never part of God's plan. God gave us the choice to obey Him or to rebel against Him and Adam and Eve chose the latter.

I starting to think now with your kind help that God knew if he didn't plant the trees sin would come in in a different way maybe so God sorted it all out for us in the very beginning. Sin enters the earth making us do bad thing but God gave us Jesus to save us from sin. God knew what to do about it in the very beginning.
I not sure if this was the right answer to the question you gave me or if I was just trailing off.

Admittedly, this is a little messed up. Firstly,God didn't create sin. Secondly, sin and death etc. were never part of God's plan. God gave us the choice to obey Him or to rebel against Him and Adam and Eve chose the latter.

Um, YES God DID create sin. He gave us free will to choose between doing good or doing evil. Sin and consequently death, WERE part of his plan. Otherwise he would not have had to have Jesus DIE FOR OUR SINS. Adam and Eve did not "rebel" against him, they were deceived by Satan--once again demonstrating the free will to choose for themselves.

If sin and death were NOT ever part of his plan, then why do we need Jesus? God created imperfect, SINFUL beings for a reason.

Yes I believe God had it all sorted out from the beginning. :)

We are told there are two paths to choose, one narrow and one wide.
Therefore I also believe you are correct in that God provided the path for which sin would enter the world.
So that it could be controlled by him.

We can see that once Adam and Eve took their mind off of God they were tempted.
This is a real illustration tying in with constantly meditating upon the Lord.
Had they been thinking on God and not listening to the serpent I doubt they would have sinned.

I feel that God wanted them to choose him on their own... the same as he wants of us still today.
To always think on his ways, his words and being in constant prayer to him.
And not listening to the devil who tries to distract people with anything other than his words and his ways.

No, just no. God didn't create sin. He created humanity with the ability to reject Him and rebel against Him. That's different.

i think God is omniscient, and knows everything, even these things, but we may lack in knowing why God allowed sin to enter, we may need Holy Spirit s guidance in this

Hi blue ladybug thanks for the reply but i have to say that God did not create sin. But there was a creator for sin and that of course was Lucifer. Remember he is a fallen angel once he was a beautiful angel high ranking angel if they have ranks but he was top angel. And also he had the choice just like us to be with God or rebel against him and we know what his choice was.
and he was the first to rebel against God so of course God cast him out of heaven and ended up on earth. so i think that's when Lucifer went to Adam and Eve and set sin on to the earth. It was not God

God chooses to exercise his infinite ability of foreknowledge in a selective way and to the degree that pleases him, then assuredly no human or angel can rightly say: “What are you doing?” (Job 9:12; Isa 45:9; Da 4:35) It is therefore not a question of ability, what God can foresee, foreknow, and foreordain, for “with God all things are possible.” (Mt 19:26) The question is what God sees fit to foresee, foreknow, and foreordain, for “everything that he delighted to do he has done.”—Ps 115:3.

Ok if God did not create sin, then who did? God created the world and EVERYTHING in it, so it would make sense that he also created sin. If not for sin, this would be a perfect world with only Adam and Eve in it. There would be no other people here for being newly formed and childlike, Adam & Eve would not have know how to have sex or even what it was. You and I would not exist today if A&E had'nt sinned!! As for the rebellion in heaven, God is all-knowing so I'm sure he knew about it well in advance.

And if this world was perfect, then what need do we have for Jesus to come and save us and die for our SINS?!! Obviously this world is NOT perfect, thus God allowed Jesus to come and live and die for us.

If SATAN created sin, which I highly doubt, then why are'nt we all satanists? Why don't we worship him instead of God? If anyone is wise enough to know who created sin, I'd sure love to hear the answer. It did NOT already exist here before God made the world, and Satan did NOT create it!!

the reason is why we are all not worshipping Satan because we choose not to we chose to follow god.we all have different views to me its not in the bible he created sin I don't believe he did. you do but that your choice

I am going to differ from a lot of people on this.

I am going to argue not whether God made us knowing we would sin... But He made us giving us free will and we decided to sin...
God made the garden perfect. Genesis 1:31.
But when God had made the garden He put in two tree's... One that would give everlasting life... And another of knowledge of good and evil. He then instructed Adam to never eat of the tree.

The reason God called the garden good even though it had the possibility to sin is because he wanted us to have free will... He created us to have free will, choose what we want... So he gave us a way to enact the free will...

God said do not eat. So they didn't, all they knew was God's word... Then God sent Satan to give them a choice. Satan went to Eve and explained the proposition that God did not tell the full truth and they would become Gods.

This gave them the ability to enact free will and Choose... Do they want to follow God or satan. I believe that the knowledge of Good and Evil is not a sin... For God has this knowledge and is far from sin, He is perfect.... What was the sin is us taking it when He said not too... I believe that if we would have passed the test and rejected satan with our free will that God would have granted the knowledge any ways...

Again, God wanted us to enact our free will...

Oh, my. Where do I begin? If this world was a perfect place, there would be more than Adam and Eve in it. After all, God did command them to 'be fruitful and multiply'. Sex within the confines of marriage is a beautiful thing (or so I've heard and believe to be true). It's not evil. God created sex and designed it as a level of intimacy that points to, but is a shadow, of the perfect relationship shared between Father, Son, Spirit. Sex in and of itself is not a consequence of the Fall.

Yes, naturally God knew in advance what would happen. Yes, Christ's role on earth was planned before the foundations of the earth were laid and yes, God gave humanity a perfect relationship with the ability to reject Him and they did. But that doesn't mean God created sin. Sin is an absence of something. It's not created so much as cultivated. This isn't a perfect analogy at all but think of darkness. It's not really a thing, it's an absence of light. In much the same way, evil isn't a thing but an absence of God's goodness and everything He stands for.

The Christian faith doesn't allow for the oft' quoted pearl of 'wisdom' that you can't understand good without evil. The Bible points to the truth that we can't understand evil without good and that sin and death were never what God had in mind. God's ways are not our ways. We'll never fully understand this seemingly paradoxical truth and that's okay.

Consider this sister ladybug, the first action of sin,is unbelief,God knew from the first act of his own creation, that unbelief would follow. If the Lord created sin to start with, then Adam would have been flawed to start with, but he was not! It was not the nature of Jesus to even consider sin,let alone act in it.

But he knew the will of man, for God has total foreknowledge of all things.( 1 peter 1:2) Knowing sin would come from Adam( rom 5:12) God also had to have a sacrifice for that sin,the purpose of the law back in the Old Covenant, was to show the people themselves, that they could never live by the entire law correctly.

The law brought forth the knowledge of sin.( rom 3:20) The law came in so sin would even abound!!!( rom 5:20) So great was the knowledge of sin brought forth, that many today still are under this bondage. So the question is why would the Lord create a creature he knew would sin?

Does this reflect upon the the one who creates as being in sin himself?? What a person does with what they receive determines the value of who they are and what they have. If i gave you a fresh 100 bill, how long would it stay in the perfect condition I gave it to you?

This would all depend on what you do with what you have!! Adam knew!! God told him Gen 2:16-17! Then the Lord sent him a helpmate to remind man of what he was told, but man did not tell the woman what God told him! So as Eve was being tempted, Adam was not far from Eve!( gen 3:6)

Adam choose to believe in what the woman was told by the devil rather then the words he was told by his own creator!!( gen 3:17)Adam choose not to believe! And consequences come from unbelief!!( Col 3:25!!!) For God is not ,nor has ever been any respecter of persons!( acts 10:34,Rom 2:11,Deut 10:17,Gal 2:6,eph 6:9,) and he rewards to those who believe as well!!( heb 11:6!!)

Since God knew man would make such a bad choice of his own freedom,Jesus came to do two things,1. fullfill the law that man could never do,and make a new covenant where man has no say in it except to believe what has already been full filled!

So like unto Abraham he swear by no one greater!! he swore by himself!!( heb 6:13-18!!!) And from the blood of our Jesus he shed because so great is his love for us! We are made righteousness,we receive his wisdom,we receive his sanctification, and we receive HIS REDEMPTION!!!! 1 cor 1:30-31!!) All we do is believe, and if we believe our lives show this!!(james 1:22) hope that helps you sis!
