So I know everyone has those desires and lots of people will tell you its healthy to explore them.... I disagree.
I rarely ever do it but when I watch porn I cant even begin to describe how filthy I feel, In fact more than any sin i do this one makes me feel the worst.

So I dont do it and when I do I cant take very much of it and beg for forgiveness. But I know there are some who are addicted to porn and as bad as it makes me feel when i do it maybe once or twice a month I cant eve begin to imagine how it must feel to be addicted to it.

And those who have such an addiction or really any sexual addiction I want to encourage you to never give up in your faith. The devil is going to make you think that because of this you are unworthy you are sinful and filthy and that you will lose your salvation- these are lies. Every Christian has a major weakness, something they have to work very hard on. God loves and adores you for who you are not because of how pure you are or how great a Christian you are, He will help you overcome all your challenges and weaknesses and turn every single one into good.

There is a fine line of doctrine between being saved as a sinner and allowing sin in your heart...

Just because we are saved by nothing else besides Jesus' blood on the cross... Does not give us the right to indulge in sin with the thought of redemption afterwards... I understand that life as a Christian is a marathon not a sprint... And some people have to be dragged out of their old ways hand and feet... But if you can not see that Christ is better than the 5 minutes of you touching yourself... Then you need to pray hardcore when that feeling comes...

I know masturbation is a huge death trap and hard to escape.. But God will never tempt you passed what you are capable of... 1Cor 10:13.... Mathew 11:28-30.... So don't say "it's harder for you than it is for me"... I am not saying you can stop it because I have... I am saying you can stop it because God has made a way...

Blain, if you give in to temptation to look at porn once or twice a month, are you sure you're not addicted? There is something that keeps bringing you back to behavior you later regret. What you need is to be totally free. I'm not trying to discourage you, but it sounds to me like you have an addiction you are fighting.

I watch it every now and then but not often, Im not sure it qualifies as an addiction though. An addiction is something you do often and cant stop thinking about and do regularly
[h=2]ad·dic·tion[/h] noun \ə-ˈdik-shən, a-\ : a strong and harmful need to regularly have something (such as a drug) or do something (such as gamble)
: an unusually great interest in something or a need to do or have something

[h=2]Full Definition of ADDICTION[/h]1
: the quality or state of being addicted <addiction to reading>

2
: compulsive need for and use of a habit-forming substance (as heroin, nicotine, or alcohol) characterized by tolerance and by well-defined physiological symptoms upon withdrawal; broadly : persistent compulsive use of a substance known by the user to be harmful
I dont do it often just every now and then. I am however severely addicted to caffeine

I agree, watching porn makes me feel very filthy and ashamed. Every time after I've done I feel so bad and decide I will not do it ever again... and yet I find myself watching it again and again because it's all over the internet and even if you don't search for porn, you get tempted on other websites with pornographic images and advertisements. I'm weak and I'm addicted.

I never understood the thing with porn. To me it is illogical, You ain't the one doing the dirty deed you are watching someone else do it. why watch someone else do a thing you would rather do (and randomly going out screwing people is bad as well) but it never made any sense to me. It would be like if you are starving hungry for food but have none or no money do buy any and watching some rich fat cat eat a fancy 6 course dinner.

I am truly surprised though, that so many christians are struggling with these issues.

pro-sports and porn is apples to oranges. one of them the Bible says not to do..
Perhaps she means why watch someone else do something you'd rather do yourself?

IF you are not addicted, no problem, NEVER do it again :) God bless you as you deal with this as there is no fine line here no fence you can balance on between what God wants & what flesh wants. Make a decision today that you will choose in that moment to worship God & Actively pursue God. There are some that just by reading a statement about porn will go to it. I prayed Christ will strengthen you to overcome this addiction.

From what I've noticed in a couple of short weeks on this site there are a GAZILLION threads for every topic that is a current topic. This is a very valid topic and MANY struggle with this. We need to let people know that this has become their idol over God. They need to choose God in this just like if they struggle with alcoholism or drug addiction. It truly is a compulsion & satan seems to really attack the church in this regard! Its so easily accessed :( I had a discussion with my 10 year old about this as recommended by a book. I thought given his small country school & sheltered life that theres no way he'd seen anything yet. I was wrong. Teach kids, WHEN they see this to know before hand what they are going to do. To turn away. Also let them know how it desensitizes and effects future relationships where the visual is needed over your partner :( Also there's the fact that porn has escalated to such a point now that it in no way resembles what actually is healthy and God intended and MANY have no clue that the things they do on there ARE NOT NORMAL and SHOULD NEVER BE DONE to another human being. OK thats my rant :) how do you like me so far?

Well that is good for you that you “don’t understand” his struggle, but have you not had any sin you struggled with? If so then you DO understand. So if "they" don't struggle with or understand you're vice then how would that help you? Your understanding is completely irrelevant to his problem. Good for you, you're so much better than a porn addict. Congratulations. Was your comment just to place yourself above him? I don’t understand the purpose of your comment beyond tooting your own horn because you’ve never struggled with this issue. I personally don’t understand why a meth addict does what they do, how would me telling them “I’ve NEVER done meth”, help them at all?

It is best not to become addicted to things, whether good or bad.
