Yay! My caramel maple bacon cake won first place in class and division and over all the cakes . The moral of the story is everything is better with bacon.

You don't plan on hiring a professional taster any time soon, do you? Also, I had bacon for breakfast this morning. This is a sign. Me and your cake were meant to be!

(Sorry, Tintin)

After an intense workout, I like to sip on a protein drink for a few minutes before hopping into a nearly ice cold shower to soothe my sore muscles.

It's.... not always fun, but surprisingly relaxing. Reduces inflammation too.

I don't even scream in terror any more.

I think I might be a bit weird....

That feeling when your favorite pajama pants begin to fall apart. *sniffle*
Oh, no! I don't know the feeling, but you may want to get that sorted before the upcoming CC pyjama party. :p

I wish I could talk about my life openly, whether that be past or present. The Body of Christ is supposed to be a place for strength and understanding, but it's not.

For some reason, I decided to browse the Bible Forum. It's rare, but sometimes you come across a thread that doesn't end in ripping someone to shreds. However, I was once again disappointed. I'm all for debate. I'm all for talking about differences of opinion, but do the threads really have to end in one person telling another they're going to hell? Or that Jesus loves everyone else but them? Or my personal favorite, one poster claims that they have some monopoly on holiness and everyone else but them happens to be wrong.

Seriously?

Seriously?

YOU have the monopoly on holiness? YOU understand what God has said and ONLY you? The hubris astounds me. Aren't we all reading the same bible? Translations set aside. Aren't we all reading the same bible?!

Doctor Lynx' prescription: Stay away from the Bible Discussions forum. It's bad for your blood pressure, your heart, your digestion, it can cause strokes, arrythmia, depression, rage, acute anxiety...

And most of the stuff people say there is wrong anyway, stuff that directly contradicts the Bible. Better off to just avoid it.

Yes, this is true. Most of the people there are definitely not chip people, they just have a chip on their shoulders.

Well you know that old saying where it's not what people call you, it's what you answer to? It's kinda like that for me. I'm not going to get all bent out of shape about those things I don't really understand to begin with, but then again, I am Catholic and sometimes what I read is hurtful just because there's so many things misunderstood. But to explain? I'm not that smart. And it's probably the loneliest place in the world realizing you're the only one in the room standing up for something. Especially when a lot of friends keep their seats.

To be honest Duchess, I don't think confessing yourself to other people is as therapeutic as it's cracked up to be. I'm more comfortable knowing the victory over self and the forgiveness and rectification of my imperfection that I received by Divine Grace. It's always easier for a man to confess his old sins than his present ones, but I relish the daily struggle. You KNOW what perfection looks like because you were made in His Image but you can never attain it, and so you guilt and struggle, and wring your hands and cry aloud and wish a fleshly body was near to hear your pleas, your confession! We're at this strange age when we realize that indeed the earth revolves about the sun and not us; that the higher thoughts filter in and we convict ourself and our selfishness.

The other day there was this thread - something about what the good things about singleness or marriage were. I came away thinking marriage trumped because it gives both man and wife more to think about than their self. Suddenly a wife or a husband or a child enters the picture, the human you would give your very life for. That is GROWTH, I think, only it's achievable by the saved and achievable by the convicted. So my rambling thoughts are suggesting that your self analysis is growth Duchess; your conviction is evolution.

It's remarkably similar in most physical church buildings too.

The trick is to find people you trust and just talk to them. Seriously, it's the only way to keep heartache from turning into shock, rage, and more heart ache.

I get what you're saying, but at the end of the day, sometimes it is nice to talk to someone else about it on occasion. Sometimes even we Christians can't get out of own way and could stand to see another perspective (if it won't do more harm than good).

You are exactly right. I go to a church which claims to be the only church to have the doctrines to become the Bride of Christ. It claims to be the only church established on the Apostolic doctrine of consecration, faith and celibacy. Believers are forbidden from mingling with other churches even though we worship the same God. Everything here is supposed to be "the best" you will ever find. Whether it is just a marketing gimmick or not I don't know but the membership base is swelling day by day. In the words of the church 'God is abundantly blessing us because we are His bride.'

This is why I stay away from the Bible forums because I see these people in my church every Sunday. In fact my church is full of these people!

The news sounds like it's trying to fear monger again with the RFID chip business.

Roh_Chris: Sounds like you need to find a different church.

lil_christian: Before that it was "UPC barcodes are going to be the mark of the beast!" It'll always be something. Next wave of technology, they'll find something else to prophesy doom about.

And by the way, I also was wondering what that "chip people" was, but I figured it was local lingo for cool people.

Someone on here thought computers were the mark of the beast. I'm not sure who, they've probably been long gone and banned. But I'm sure if you dug deep enough you could find it. Not that you'd want to.

Here's the thing - the mark of the beast would have to be a world-wide thing. Not just America. Though if it truly does become a thing I will refuse to get an RFID chip. I'm not a needle person, and I'm definitely not all for the government knowing my whereabouts anyways and stuff because the government always makes those kinds of things into tracking devices. It happened with smart phones. It's really stupid. Why can't they just leave us alone?

You mean how it might become the mark of the beast? Nah, I'm pretty sure that if its a technology 'mark' it will probably be something created by apple. They now have applepay you know? And.. they just put out an apple watch too which you will be able to use with applepay...
