I know, right? What is it with some guys and skinny jeans!
By now you'd think I would know better than to eat breakfast while catching up on the forum. Now I gotta clean the computer screen off.

AgeofKnowledge: I get the impression you're one of those people who just HAS to have the last word. As thou wilt - go ahead and rebuke me one more time, and then I won't reply to you any more, and then you'll have the last word.

How about this one... when asked why still single, give your least genuine smile, and say, "Oh, I'm sorry. Did you not get your wedding invitation? It must have gotten lost in the mail. I'll say no more." Then beat a hasty retreat!

I don't know about restlessness, but my previous post is sure to spark a response. I expect when I get off work I'll find a blistering retort waiting for me here. But then he'll feel he has made his point, proved himself right, I won't respond, and we can get this thread back on track. At least in theory.

Speaking of getting back on track... If someone asks why you are still single, respond with "Well, what are you doing Saturday night?" and bat your eyelashes at the inquisitor. Do this regardless of the inquisitor's age or gender. The ones with a sense of humor will laugh, the others will look at you funny, mumble some kind of excuse to leave and relocate to somewhere else.

how about, "I'm still single because I just can't find a suitor who is willing to share the bed with a tiger, and frankly I just don't think my Bengal would be able to sleep without curling up to me. You know I bottle raised him and he is a big baby, though I can't take him jogging with me in the park since that incident with the poodle that barked at me." This can be said with or without misleading facial expressions.

I am going to relocate to somewhere else. Being single is a choice and I am choosing otherwise. Your pick-up line has merit but needs a little polish. "What are you doing for the next 30 years?" is one that is sure to get a response. Don't say this to a guy however as you may definitely get funny looks. Mumbling is a good tactic for stalling. It is best to practice your delivery.

I shared correct information relevant to the discussion. Then I was criticized for sharing correct information. I chose to maintain my position because it's a correct position and relevant to the discussion. The conflict was amicably resolved largely because the other party exercised wisdom which I commend him for doing.

If only you had...

If observing this causes you discomfort; you can choose to ignore it, put people on ignore using the forum's ignore feature, avoid discussion forums, etc...

But what you chose to do was target me (while ignoring the other party and also ignoring that I wasn't correcting anyone but responding to someone who was attempting to correct me) and you did it in the form of a complaint laying the groundwork for a potential argument between us.

So not only were you off base that I was the one who started the "correcting" but you singled me out for your complaint and acted hypocritically in telling me not to do something that you yourself are doing. I suggest you both apologize and take Jesus's advice:

^ Use both hands... lol.

My dear brother AgeofKnowledge, you do not know the way of life in the Singles forum. Over here, we rarely disagree. And if at all we do, we apologize and get over it in no time. We even have a reconciliation party and Madame Pipp bakes a nice cake to celebrate the occasion. Tinkerbell gets us party hats and decorates the place with party streamers. And if Tintin can stroke his beard to light the barbecue fire, we sometimes even roast a Lynx or two. And zeroturbulence brings some baskin robbins 31 for dessert. :p

So why don't you join us for the next reconciliation party? :D

I'm not offended. I'm not "taking everything to heart." I'm replying which is an activity people engage in on discussion boards for many reasons including to correct misinformation, for example.

One may intend not to do things in life, but when they do them anyways then they may be held accountable for doing them.

And obviously I have no servants here. You don't have to read my replies or respond to them as a servant would. Rather, it's a freewill choice that you make to read them and to reply to them. The servant doesn't have a choice: you do. If a free person chooses to read other's posts and actually curse them afterwards, the sin is their own and they are responsible for it.

The information I shared was correct. You may choose to disagree with it but that simply means that you disagree with the correct information that I shared. Myself, I'm not interested in living in denial. A friend of mine whose occupation was drug and alcohol counseling once asked me, "would you rather be happy or have the truth?" I replied, "I would rather have the truth." He took a step backwards. Apparently, it wasn't an answer he was accustomed to hearing in his profession.

Furthermore, your myopic restriction that nobody replying to this thread is allowed to share a reason or reasons why they (and a great many other people) are still single belies the original wording:

"So it seems that we should have a thread where we can all say what we really wanted to say in response and hopefully the people who ask can come here and read more honest or at least more entertaining answers."

Obviously, I don't share your myopic interpretation with respect to that. But there's really no need to apologize. That too is a choice you made.

You CAN choose to make different choices.

And now you know why I'm single *cough* *cough* LOLOL.

Have a blessed day. :)

AgeofKnowledge, I don't think that Lynx intended to offend you in any way or single you out as it was not just addressed to you. Now, let me make myself clear in my response to you, you have given your interpretation and your opinions on the topic, like everyone else has and we respect that but we don't agree with it.

Ecclesiastes 7:21-22
Do not take to heart all the things that people say, lest you hear your servant cursing you. Your heart knows that many times you yourself have cursed others.

I would like to apologise in advance if I have offended you in any way, as this is not my intent but this thread was created for people to give reasons as to why "they are still single" not give reasons as to what "you think the cause is for everyone else's single status".

Have a blessed day my brother:)

Answers I give: "All the good ones are taken."
"I haven't found her yet"
the reality of the situation: I'm horrible with meeting people, I know nothing of dating, and I suffer from low self confedence.
Although my answers are also true

Let me just build you up a little o.k.? Remember you are a child of the King that's God. You have great worth and have no need to feel bad about your self image. Repeat to yourself God does not make junk. Say it again. You are very valuable. So just try this one time I promise it won't kill you. Introduce yourself to a girl/lady/woman just get her name and have a brief conversation with her. That's it no expectations at all. If that went o.k. try it again if not try it again anyway. It will build your self esteem and give courage to do it again. So just remember who you are and try my suggestion. That's it...Feel good about yourself God loves you. Don't forget it....Blessings to you in your walk with Jesus
